The 17 Best Vegan Restaurants In Seattle - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Sushi Samurai has been around for over a decade, but it’s practically a whole new sushi restaurant since veganizing its entire menu. The small plates, rolls, and nigiri rely heavily on faux seafood, so you’ll find fishless options like tempura-battered konjac shrimp, imitation salmon sashimi, and spicy “tuna.” The fake shellfish's texture is spot-on, and the tempura breading makes the konjac taste eerily similar to real prawns." - aimee rizzo

The Sushi Samurai Review - Queen Anne - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Sushi Samurai has been around for over a decade, but it’s practically a whole new restaurant now that their menu is now entirely vegan. The small plates, rolls, and nigiri rely heavily on faux seafood, so you’ll find fishless options like tempura-battered konjac shrimp, imitation salmon sashimi, and spicy “tuna.” Your best bet is to stick with the fake shellfish—the texture is spot-on, and the tempura breading makes the konjac taste more similar to real prawns, as opposed to nigiri featuring striped slices of what resembles opaque Jell-O. Google
Excellent place. It's a small place so booking a reservation is not a bad idea. I went with a friend and we tried all the gluten free rolls. By the way this place is fully vegan. Everything is mocked fish. My favourites were Spicy Tuna, Seattle Roll and Yoga. All are gluten-free. I wouldn't recommend Mango Tango. The service was excellent. Very nice host and really passionate about the restaurant and its menu.

Google
Yummy vegan rolls with a chill vibe inside. I liked that it wasn’t too noisy as well. I would definitely recommend the Mr. Krabs roll! Absolutely delicious. I loved hearing about their story and I was happy that as a non-vegan but all good loving person that I was still accepted. My only complaints are that it’s a bit pricy (though I honestly think fair for the quality and location) and the knife work in cutting the rolls could be a little cleaner and more even (but that’s really nit-picking). I enjoyed the experience and I’d be happy to come back 😊

Google
Stupid good. *mind blown* I’m not even vegan I’m pescatarian. I was so impressed. Highly recommended. Please take everybody you know here, the vegan community needs all the support. The fact a city like Seattle doesn’t have more of this is dumb.

Google
I heard about their vegan sushi, a dish I typically crave, but the food was a big disappointment. The nigiri were bland, the rolls were poorly assembled and presented, and some had weird chewy pieces, their seaweed salad had unpleasant flavors. The waiter was super nice, and the setting was cool. Too bad, a missed opportunity to bring more vegan deliciousness to the world.

Google
Absolutely incredible experience. This vegan sushi spot in Queen Anne is a must-try for anyone plant-based or even just curious. The food was beyond delicious the “fish”made from tapioca, potatoes, and other creative ingredients had an amazing texture and flavor. You’d never guess it was entirely vegan! Our waiter was so friendly and welcoming. He even took the time to share the backstory of how the restaurant made the switch to all-vegan sushi, which made the meal feel even more special. The passion really shows in both the service and the food. Highly recommend this place is a gem!

Google
Had a lovely dinner and overall experience at the Sushi Samurai. The place is small so would recommend making a reservation. We dined on a Sunday at 7pm and all the booths were full; the tables closer to the sushi station weren't as occupied, but honestly those tables didn't seem as comfortable - they were pretty close together. The server (didn't catch his name) was incredibly friendly and attentive - he was super thoughtful as he brought a huge, extra amount of ginger after he noticed we quickly ate up what they had given us when we sat down. Between two of us, we ordered the spicy edamame and 5 rolls (I don't recall the names of all of them - the most memorable were the crunchy salmon and ring of fire, though all were good). We couldn't decide between the two cheesecakes so we ordered them both! They were both delicious, with a slight edge towards the ube. We also ordered hot sake. Though not vegan, I do enjoy trying new and creative twists on food and Sushi Samurai did not disappoint! Will definitely go back.

Google
I have two people in my life who are allergic to fish. They have described the frustration of going for sushi and not being able to share, having to be on guard about cross contamination, and limited choices. It was a joy to see them actually be excited about a menu and finally relax while out to eat. This place provided a meaningful experience, the food was great, the service was good (if a little overbearing, but that's a personal preference) the place is almost always busy and parking can be a bit hard but truely the best vegan sushi I've had. Most rolls were 80-90% true to their fish counterparts. Cheesecake was crumbly as hell though. Edit: back a second time and it was fantastic. Outdoor seating was good, though the chairs were a little uncomfortable. The food tasted fantastic. Highly recommend the geisha roll and the Queen Anne.

Google
I love it here ! I’m vegan and it’s so hard to find good vegan sushi out here . The food is amazing & has a great flavor profile! Took my non vegan friends here and they loved it too ! I am bout to be a regular at this point , cause I been here 3 times in 2 weeks 😆. The staff is super friendly, and great at their job. Keep being amazing yall!! See you next week !

Yelp
This place is wonderful. The service is some of the best in Seattle, and the food is even liked by meat-eaters. I recommend the Gyoza, Spicy Edamame, Maui Roll, and Green Goddess Roll. I have been here many times and it really is amazing every time!

Yelp
Don't think about it, eat at this wonderful vegan restaurant. Even if you are not a sushi lover (me). I've been converted. We walked in and were quickly seated on a gorgeous mid-week evening; tables filled up fairly quickly, but bar seating remained available. Given we walked from South Lake Union (~40 minutes, a good climb) a reservation would have been a good idea. For appetizers, the Kaiso (seaweed salad) was a surprise star; it was not a unanimous choice but everyone enjoyed it. The classic edamame was...edamame, good but you can get similar pretty much anywhere. In the future we would probably try the garlic or spicy edamame options or another appetizer. For the sushi, everything was great. Mr. Krabs was the 'must order' option. I expect it will be ordered on all visits. We also enjoyed the Yoga Roll, Maui, and Mango Tango. Of the four, Mango Tango was least enjoyed, although it was still good. Looking forward to exploring the menu further on future visits.

Yelp
We went for a Sunday dinner and had a great time. We tried the PNW and dragon rolls as well as the gyoza. As a non-vegan sushi lover, I thought everything was very yummy. All of the vegan fish was a good texture and flavor, and the rolls had a lot of different sauces and other ingredients that paired well together. The tea was surprisingly flavorful (oftentimes restaurant tea is just okay) and well brewed as well. The server was super attentive and very good at getting anything we needed + refilled the tea pot very quickly whenever we ran out. The restaurant is also a very cute date spot with tea lights and high walled booths that make it feel pretty private even when there are other tables nearby. I'll definitely come back in the near future.

Yelp
Perfect for vegetarians like me, where you can order anything from the vast menu without worrying about substituting anything The menu consists of appetizers, specialty rolls, vegan rolls, GF rolls, desserts and so on! What I ordered- Mango Tango roll Super shiitake roll Kimchi roll Gyoza Vegetable Spring roll I'm obsessed with the Kimchi roll and Mango Tango, honestly everything was so good!

Yelp
The Sushi are the best Vegetarian option it offers. love the ambience, the staff are welcoming the food is flavorful and everything is worth the visit.

Yelp
Love to see a 100% plant based sushi restaurant in Seattle! We know the city certainly could use the diversity. 5 stars for the creativity of making quality sushi without fish! That's true talent. Service was great. Restaurant is quaint. Fun casual vibe. Food was good but I think we ordered incorrectly for our likings. Everything had the vegan mayo which we quickly realized we do not like. We would love to come back and try all the other rolls with no mayo. As the sushi rolls were good!

Yelp
Came around 8pm on a weekend. Parking was really easy with free street parking. The shop is pretty small so it was completely packed. We waited about 5min for a table as it was getting late. Menu is very extensive so we did take a bit to order after being seated. Served wasand food came after 20min from ordering. 7/10 Ring of Fire $10.24 6pc - just meh, little below real sushi compared to grocery store sushi. 9/10 Katana $15.99 8pc - very solid! Texture and taste both were excellent and quite comparable to good real sushi 7/10 Crunchy Salmon $11.99 6pc - similar sentiment as ring of fire. Nothing really stood out in a good or bad way. 10/10 Dragon $16.99 8pc - amazing! The top replicated seared salmon/fish taste and the sauce is the same as the unagi sauce which was so good!! Must get! Overall expensive but good spot considering it is vegan. QR Menu: https://www.foodbooking.com/ordering/restaurant/menu?restaurant_uid=c50e807b-eaed-479a-b270-64953afe4598&dine_in=true

Yelp
I highly, highly recommend sushi samurai! The food was delicious and the service was excellent (our server was friendly, attentive, & offered helpful suggestions). We ordered the gyoza, spring rolls, & spicy edamame (which were quite spicy) to start. We then ordered the Mr. Krabs, Geisha, & Red Dragon rolls - each positively delicious, flavorful, fresh, and creative. The restaurant itself was cute and the music was at a good volume (which allowed for conversation at the table). :)

Yelp
Pretty good! I loved the crunchy salmon roll! The green goddess was also good. I can't remember the third one we got. Parking wasn't too tricky. Service was fast and we got a table right away. The restaurant is nice - not too fancy but not too loud either.

Yelp
This was my first ever time trying vegan sushi and I have to say that I'm sad I haven't tried it sooner. We ordered their gyoza and 4 rolls: The Samurai, Red Dragon, PNW, and one other one but I forget the name. Our favorite was between the Samurai and Red Dragon. But I also liked the citrus taste in the PNW. They have a robot server and our actual server was super kind and knowledgeable. They really have the sushi/fish texture and taste down. I'm a fan.

Yelp
Went here with some vegan friends - and I was amazed at how delicious the sushi was! I didn't miss the fish at all. Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff and the food came out almost instantly. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
We came here on our visit to Seattle as our special anniversary dinner, but unfortunately it was a miss and probably our worst meal of the weekend. Service was excellent, and we really enjoyed chatting with the owner. The miso soup was thin and sweet. The rolls were overly focused on faux fish replacements, which caters more to omnivores than plant-based folks. This makes sense considering that the owner himself was not plant-based (as he told us). Worst of all was that the food was not fresh. The seaweed salad was past its prime. The avocado was off (maybe previously frozen). Even my non-picky husband wasn't a fan. What was meant to be a special meal ended up being a quick hour where we opted out of dessert and went back to our hotel to soothe our upset bellies.

Yelp
I had been wanting to try vegan sashimi and I was pleased by my first experience. We started with seaweed salad, followed by an order of tempura rolls and Seattle roll. The seaweed salad was perfectly seasoned, a good balance of sweet and savory. The tempura rolls were crispy and delicious. The Seattle roll's vegan sashimi had me fooled. It tasted like salmon! The flavor on its own was a bit understated but paired beautifully with wasabi and soy sauce. For dessert, we ordered the pecan cheesecake which was so lovely in its presentation. The orchids were edible! We enjoyed munching on a few once we learned they were more than just a garnish. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and kind. The ambiance was relaxed and welcoming and the bathroom was spotless. I would love to return to try some of the other menu offerings as they have such a great selection of fresh sushi.

Yelp
Vegan sushi that tastes just like real fish. Drinks are very good and impeccable friendly service including the robot

Yelp
I love this place. Especially love ordering platters for special events. The staff has been very helpful about letting me pick up orders a bit before opening so I can get to my event on time. Sushi had been my favorite food before transitioning from pescatarian/flexitarian to vegan and now The Sushi Samurai allows me to continue to enjoy a wide selection of expertly prepared, visually appealing, sushi as a vegan. Ambiance is nice too. Simply can't say enough good things about this place. If you're vegan or plant-based, it's worth going out of you way to try it.

Yelp
I am so grateful to have this vegan sushi place in Seattle and glad to have been able to dine here! We will be back! The experience was absolutely amazing. Everything from the customer service to the sushi was excellent! The atmosphere is very casual and laid back. I loved the vibe! I had the crunchy shrimp sushi and it was delicious. My wife and I also had other types of sushi as well. I am vegetarian, but I am also allergic to shellfish, so I am glad I found this place so that I can have a plant based shellfish taste. The sushi did not appear vegan or taste vegan, and the taste was awesome! I highly recommend Sushi Samurai! We also loved Mio the robot who assists the servers. She is so cute!
google avatar

Mabel L.

Yelp
We ordered crunchy salmon and katana. Absolute disappointment. All we can taste was the sauce. Cannot taste the slightest flavor from tapioca or any vegan substitute they claimed. AND it was pricy too. Will not come again.
google avatar

Sharon P.

Yelp
Amazing! We were really impressed with this place. On our way out of Seattle, we stopped by this sushi spot for an early dinner before our red eye. I was accompanied by my two friends who are not vegan but are flexible in terms of the food they eat/are open to. We ordered a few "name familiar" rolls (ones you'd see on a "regular" sushi menu) and it was hit after hit. I've been vegan for over 12 years, so it's been awhile since I've had "real" sushi but their rolls were essentially the real thing that I didn't even have to think about those past days. We loved every roll we ordered (one in particular with a crunch and tuna top), but you can't go wrong with trying a few. Can't wait to come back to Seattle just for this!

Yelp
EVERYTHING ON THE MENU IS TO DIE FOR. I'm always on the hunt for good vegan food - I'm not vegan but just love to explore options and this did not disappoint at all. Usually when a certain dish is prepared with a vegan perspective, it's quite difficult to mimic the texture of meat and I was really curious to see how they would pull that off with sushi since raw fish has a really unique texture. I was blown away by how similar it was to the actual texture. They don't make the vegan salmon in-house, but it was so delicious and I really couldn't have been able to tell it wasn't fish if I didn't already know it was vegan. Even the LOOK was on point, as they somehow mimicked the coloring and the white lines on the salmon too. They have outdoor dining options too if you have a well behaved doggo (ours was the perfect boy).

Yelp
Made reservations for 4:30 Friday. Had a reserved table waiting on us. Located in the Queen Anne. Tried all the nigiri, excellent! We tried the Dragon roll, Red Dragon roll then the owner recommended his wife's favorite roll. To die for. They have wine/beer/sake House cold sake was delish. It was an hour drive for us but we will be back!

Yelp
VEGAN SUSHI?! Utterly fantastic! Went on a very busy weekend evening so it was a little slow on the service but oh man it was worth it. From the miso soup to the sushi rolls, I was in heaven. What is the "fish" made out of?! Idk but oh my god I wouldn't even know it's vegan. Tastes EXACTLY like OG sushi. Probably even better because there's no fishy aftertaste you sometimes get.
google avatar

Dee M.

Yelp
We got a miso soup, red dragon roll, geisha roll, mango tango roll and a ring of fire roll. All the rolls were fresh and the cute lil robot carrying the food just added to the aesthetic. The servers were very helpful and considerate.
google avatar

Yelp
Wow! Wow! What an amazing time we had! I was lucky to get a last minute reservation. I Love regular fish sushi; my friend is vegetarian. We decided to give it a whirl and it did NOT disappoint!!! We were both loving it all! We had the Orion, Geisha, spicy tuna roll, salmon sashimi, Gyoza, but the real winner was the CurryRoll!! Truthfully they were all fantastic! No joke! The restaurant was beautiful with a sushi bar, warm lighting, and the orchids on the dishes made it feel like a real treat. If I hadn't known it was all vegetarian/vegan I wouldn't have had any idea otherwise. The prices were great and our sever was more than welcoming and nothing short of a delight! Our experience exceeded expectations! 10/10
google avatar

Ally S.

Yelp
WOW! This sushi is vegan, but tastes super close to the real deal. I would say the shrimp tempura roll tasted the same as true shrimp. The tuna was a little different, but much closer than any other fish substitute I've had. Service was very friendly as well. Would recommend a reservation.
google avatar

Adam W.

Yelp
Amazing vegan sushi! Has similar to texture to real fish and the rolls are very flavorful. The owner is very friendly and fun to talk to, and the service is very attentive. The restaurant is cozy so i would definitely advise making a reservation beforehand if possible. We had to wait a good bit for our food to arrive (we also ordered 6 rolls). Would definitely recommend this place for vegetarians/vegans!

Yelp
OK, Vegan sushi sounds crazy. But this place serves tasty food! Many pluses: upon being seated our server told us "everything is vegan, that's ok with you, right?" Yes - and sincere thanks for asking (or warning?!). Anyway, our server was super nice. One refreshing thing was that unlike every other vegan person/establishment I've ever dealt with, they never mentioned the vegan aspect again. So - about the food, we had some appetizers and four generous-sized sushi rolls. In my photo from Left to Right - Yoga Roll (on separate plate): Sweet tofu, cucumbers, cilantro, sweet chili sauce. Ring of Fire (my favorite! Not that spicy!) GHOST PEPPER SAUCE, white fish, cucumbers, togarashi spice, jalapeno, ponzu sauce. Maui Roll - Tuna, spicy tuna sauce, tempura green onion, poke sauce, sesame seeds Geisha Tempura shrimp, spicy mayo, sweet sauce, avocado, cucumbers, crunchy tempura flakes. All these were good though the sweet sauce on the Geisha Roll was a bit sweet for me. Our appetizers were the only things that didn't dazzle. The miso soup was just broth with tiny bits of seaweed and a couple scallion bits. It was surprisingly sweet! The gyoza were fried to a very crisp crisp. I'd go back - and not just for the novelty. I'd particularly like to take my hippied-out vegan/vegetarian friends here. Street parking was easily available and again our server was excellent.

Michelle C.

Yelp
It's amazing that we can have a sushi restaurant that is 100% plant-based and delicious to boot. The consensus of the table was that we would not have been able to tell that every single roll we ate was completely vegan! This itched the scratch our friend had for fish since he went vegetarian about a year and a half ago. On top of that, the staff was super friendly and attentive. Needless to say, we'll be visiting again. Something I will call out is that some of the rolls can be pricey and the size of some of them were on the smaller side. It's understandable given that they're using faux fish products which I imagine isn't cheap.

Yelp
I think this is one of my all-time favorite vegan sushi spots, and I've been to many in different cities. I came with two vegetarian friends on a Friday evening without a reservation, and after about a 10 minute wait, we were seated on their outdoor patio. It was a beautiful summer day, the weather was warm, and I was excited to try their sushi! My friends ordered the Aladdin unfiltered sake bottle to share, which comes in a cute potion-like bottle (which we later brought home for Halloween decor :p). We also got the edamame and gyoza as appetizers, both of which I loved!! The edamame was perfectly salted, and the gyoza was nice and crispy, with a delicious dipping sauce to pair. As for sushi, we got the Yoga roll, Avocado roll, and Katana roll. I usually prefer vegetarian sushi places that are more vegetable-forward, instead of trying to use fake fish substitutes. However, I absolutely loved the vegan salmon!! A lot of times vegan fish can taste kind of weird for me, texture-wise, especially as a non-vegetarian, but this was really good and definitely changed my outlook on vegan fish substitutes. The plating on the dishes is also beautiful, and very camera friendly. The prices are pretty standard for Seattle, and I'm definitely excited to come back and try new rolls!

Ray C.

Yelp
Incredible place that's 100% vegan but great for non-vegans because everything is so good. We got the spicy edamame and miso soup as appetizers which were both FULL of flavor and not too salty. I got the crunchy salmon roll for an entree - it was light tasting, which in hindsight I actually appreciate because it didn't overpower the other food we were eating. Other rolls might have more oomph (there were lots on the menu I'd like to try) but mine was a good mix of yummy (and tasted like fish! Couldn't tell it was vegan at all) without being too rich. I can't remember what my dining buddy (who isn't vegan) got but they reported theirs was tasty as well. Service for all the food and drink refills was fast. They even had a cute robot that followed the server around. Then came the dessert - we ordered the chocolate cheesecake and sat there a little longer than we did for the other food (not a long time, just a couple minutes longer) so I was wondering if maybe something happened. Turns out they make the cheesecakes in-house and it was also beautifully decorated (I snapped a pic before we demolished it). I didn't know they were made in-house at first and remember thinking, "Wow this is so good, like INCREDIBLY good, it tastes like they personally made this." I could taste the care they put into it. When they asked if I liked it I think I basically yelled something like, "YES OH MY GOD." You absolutely cannot leave the restaurant without eating one of these cheesecakes. The interior is a mix of playful (they have pop culture figures at the counter and a video game was on the screen, with old monster movie posters in the bathroom) and sophisticated (nice plants, nice wood seating, including a nice patio outside though we sat inside). I really cannot recommend this place enough for both vegans and non-vegans. Easily in my top 3 of all vegan/vegan-friendly restaurants in the entire city.

Ashwini P.

Yelp
Went on a holiday Sunday and enjoyed the food, hospitality and great service. Was first time trying sushi for kids and they were not disappointed! Tried the spicy edamame, miso soup, kimchi rolls, bliss and tempura shrimp. Amazing taste. Will definitely go again
google avatar

Ishita K.

Yelp
Never in a million years would I have imagined vegan sushi to taste this good! This is a must go for all the vegetarian/vegan people who feel like they miss out on what sushi could possibly taste like! I take all my vegan friends here and they love it! Super quick service and friendly staff!
google avatar

Amina W.

Yelp
First, the server was amazing. Server was very kind and made great conversation!! For starters we order gyoza, which was reeaaally good(especially that chili sauce!). It didn't take too long, then the sushi came out! I had gotten the crunchy shrimp. It was good in my opinion, but my mom had gotten the crunchy salmon and LET ME TELLL YOU! If you like fried sushi it was so good... with the chili I mentioned earlier too? Oh yeah it's the bomb. Once again throughout this whole thing the sever was really nice to us. We also tried the nigiri, it was so good ( and if you have it with lemon on top, it tastes more like the real thing!). Since this experience was so good, I even got dessert. I got the chocolate cheesecake, and it. Was. HEAVENLY. not everyone likes cheesecake so I am putting it out there that I like and enjoy cheesecake a lot!!! So if you like cheesecake get this one!! If you are a cheesecake nerd, I'd say it's like New York style cheesecake.

Brittany W.

Yelp
I would 100 percent recommend service is great! and it is 100 percent vegan!!! the the crunchy salmon roll was out of this world and the salmon nigiri. Don't forget the cheesecake!

Yelp
This place is insane. Sushi is one of the last remnants of my pre-veggie lifestyle I long for, and hearing this place opted INTO vegan sushi for no good reason I could ascertain made me VERY interested in it. I could list the rolls and drinks and all that, but for the sake of brevity I'll say, Sushi Samurai rules. The rolls are incredible. The drinks are incredible. The weird little robot is a bit i'm not sure about but brings some charm, and the staff are lovely people that are just stoked about the whole thing. We'll be back. Probably a ton of times considering how far this place is from our home base. It hit an itch we haven't scratched since going veggie, and I crave it at least once a week since we came out for it.
google avatar

Yelp
Friendly service. Delicious sushi. Can't tell the difference between that and fish. Plenty of seating outside

Yelp
So nice to find an all-vegan sushi place, and even non-vegans love it! We shared the Green Goddess roll (avo, carrot, sesame seeds, tempura scallions), the Yoga roll (sweet tofu, cucumbers, cilantro, sweet chili sauce), and the Seattle Tempura roll (vegan salmon made from konjac, avo, cream cheeze). The Yoga roll was the least expensive and was actually our favourite, although we enjoyed them all. Service was excellent. Super-nice staff. They were happy to keep refilling our water on such a hot day! The interior is a little small-ish but they have a super-cute outdoor space. We wanted the A/C so we sat inside. Kind of a hole-in-the-wall vibe but cute. I highly recommend to vegans and non-vegans alike!
google avatar

Chelsea F.

Yelp
I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! As a non vegan who loves sushi, I was skeptical about whether or not I would like vegan sushi. Boy, was I wrong. The rolls here are as good as regular fish and the service is amazing! Raymar and his brother Ray have created a warm, familial environment with some of the best vegan sushi on the west coast. GO NOW!!
google avatar

Marie R.

Yelp
I was walking around QA and saw this place. It intrigued me that there's a vegan sushi place so I wanted to try it! I got the crunchy salmon roll. It was pretty good! I can tell that the "salmon" was not salmon but I think they got the texture and the flavor right for the most part. I wouldn't say that I wouldn't have been able to tell it's vegan if they hadn't told me, but if I went back to being vegan, I wouldn't mind eating here! I need to try their other rolls though!
google avatar

Aries F.

Yelp
First timer! I loved everything we ordered, Appetizers: Classic Edamame and Gyozas and Entree/rolls: Crunchy Salmon and Seattle Roll. I'm not a huge sushi fan and I've only been vegan for a little over 6 months now. When I tell you this place deserves 6 stars out 5. When you walk in, it's calming and the gentleman that took our order was very welcoming. I guess this previously used to be strictly fish, but they went vegan a year or two ago. If you haven't tried vegan sushi, YES VEGAN, this is the place to come! Note, this is the only place in Seattle that serves vegan sushi. Don't walk but run! Might see you there

Yelp
A lot to consider in this review. There are signs everywhere that say it's vegan food. When you come in, the seating host reminds you that it is vegan. As a vegetarian, I appreciate having the options. I had miso, Ring of Fire, and Red Dragon. The presentation is excellent, and the texture is what you would expect from fish. The flavors... The miso is not miso. It's a veggie broth with cilantro. Tasty and a bit sweet for me. I wonder why they don't use miso paste and exclude the dashi (fish flakes). The roles were filling but lacked heat from the Ghost pepper and spicy mayo. The flavors are lackluster and could use more seasoning (rice vinegar) and promised heat from the chilis. Service was reasonable for a Saturday night with one server and two chefs. Prices... you pay for eating vegetarian. There is a value-to-price ratio that made this a more difficult rating than others. It happens everywhere, and while it is counterintuitive, I find it with most restaurants. I'll give Sushi Samurai another go in a few months.

Yelp
The food and service here was absolutely spectacular! I brought a non vegan friend here and he thought it tasted like real fish! I'll most definitely be back again!

Yelp
We have only been twice, but plan to put this place on our permanent rotation. It's such a glorious experience to choose ANYTHING on a menu and have it be EXACTLY what we want. The vegan "fish" is unlike anything available in stores, it's not rubbery and flavorless, it has an amazing texture that's pleasing to non-vegans so, really, everyone wins here. The service is above and beyond. Friendly, fast, attentive... they deserve a five-star review just for being so wonderful, but I the FOOD, I can't stop thinking about that deep fried rolls we had *drooling*. Fresh ingredients, beautifully presented with fast and friendly service. Seriously, just go now. AND!!! DOGS are welcomed in the patio area!!! This place is 100% for us. I only regret that it took us this long to find. We will be back again and again.

Yelp
I'd give it a 6 out of 5. It exceeded any expectations. I had to ask twice if it was not real fish. It was so so close to the real fish. Everything we ordered was just amazing! I still don't understand how it is possible to get such realistic fish experience with vegan ingredients. Highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Admittedly I had doubts that vegan sushi could ever compare to real fish based options. Heck was I wrong! The sushi served at The Sushi Samurai was everything I hoped it'd be and more! I was pleasantly surprised! Their openness to accommodate dietary restrictions and their communication of food allergens in each menu item was refreshing to encounter. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant again and again, as well as recommending it to anyone that wants a great meal!

Yelp
Heard lots of good things about this place so decided to order takeout on a Friday night and it did not disappoint! We placed the order over the phone for Crispy Shrimp Rolls, Red Dragon Rolls and Vegetable Rolls. Within less than 30 minutes they were ready for pick up. I've never personally been a fan of fake meat before, but this was really good! My personal favorite of the three was the Red Dragon Rolls - the extra kick the spiciness added was too good! Pricing did feel a little on the expensive side, but also I don't think there are good sushi rolls for anything else in this area especially. Will definitely be ordering from here again!

Yelp
This is some of the best sushi I have ever had & I could not tell it was vegan/vegetarian. Beautiful Presentation as well. A lot of love is put into the rolls and you can see them make it! Small restaurant, I believe you may need to call/book ahead. The service is super friendly and welcoming. Very helpful in picking which rolls to get. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Possibly the best sushi I've ever had, even better that it's all plant based and me and my husband can share sushi for once. The manager on shift was also amazing and so nice to our kiddos and so accommodating. I can't recommend this place enough!

Yelp
This place is such a treasure. Delicious food and amazing group of people. We try to eat here every week or so, and they never disappoint. Highly recommend their red dragon roll, but honestly you can order randomly and be happy.
