The Three Horseshoes

"Large fireplaces, stone floors and whitewashed walls feature inside this renovated 17C pub. The pared-back décor is joined by similarly straightforward and equally appealing cooking that includes hearty dishes like rabbit pie and mince on toast. This approach allows the ingredients to speak for themselves, with local Somerset produce a feature. Five bedrooms add to the inn’s appeal, as do an attractive terrace and small walled garden." - Michelin Inspector

Food was amazing with surprisingly large portions and the menu had something for everyone. Great selection of local ales as well! Service was very good and quite fast despite being reasonably busy. Highly recommended!

We had an absolutely delicious lunch here, the food was sublime, the service was great and the setting is stunning - we will definitely be returning! We had a green bean and anchovy salad to start which was really flavoured and tasty, a monkfish curry and cod with saffron bisque for mains and a lemon meringue pie for dessert. All of it was perfect!

Great pub serving excellent food. Car park. Outside seating for warm weather. Picturesque location (with zero phone signal so needed the WiFi). Excellent room but a shame our room (no.3) was not quiet as the kitchen fan was audible (hence the provided ear plugs). But we enjoyed our overnight.

It's a precious drive through those narrow lanes especially when you meet a massive tractor and no where to go, no matter what my sat nav sent me via these narrow lanes, we did live in the Village for a couple of weeks and this gastro pub was closed for renovation. It was our Golden Wedding Anniversary, not that matters to the restaurant, l wouldn't go there to celebrate anything now not even a candle 🕯️ It's expensive to be honest a venison pie for £27 and no veggies, we ordered greens and they were quite tough as they leave the stalk, maybe great roughage . There was a bottle of wine for £117 and only a tinto, l imagine it's for the Londoners with money to burn. It's dog friendly which is very useful as it's a bit upmarket. We would return maybe for lunch as its in the day light. The service was great and they charge 12% as long as the staff actually get it, it's fair as they service was 5 star 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 certainly nothing wrong with the food, l understand its not a charity but it means going out once rather than twice in 6 months.

We had a fabulous birthday lunch sitting outside. Poppy looked after us super well, and the long suffering bar man helped multiple times to relocate the sun shade umbrella thing. Food was great. Asparagus gribiche, terrine, crab toast, followed by steak and ale pie, chop schnitzel and a spanakopita. Amazing potatoes and greens on the side. We were full but still managed a creme brulee, mousse and some ricotta ice cream. Lots of places in Somerset have smaller portions, but not this one. Was really great and highly recommended.

Went for lunch. Full renovation of this old character Inn has not spoilt its character. Sunny day, so ate outside in the walled garden. Good news; bad news as buzzed by wasps. Relatively expensive dishes. Some good plates like shepherd's pies, some middling, like the smallest John Dory ever and some not so good, like tough, thick and hard pork chop.

One of the best meals we had while staying in the area. Excellent suet crust pie and perfectly balanced malt crème brûlée. The food that was served to the other tables looked great too! Attentive service too.

Great food, had pork terrine and ox liver. Friendly and efficient service. Gorgeous pub and garden. Would go back in a heartbeat.
