The Three Horseshoes

"Large fireplaces, stone floors and whitewashed walls feature inside this renovated 17C pub. The pared-back décor is joined by similarly straightforward and equally appealing cooking that includes hearty dishes like rabbit pie and mince on toast. This approach allows the ingredients to speak for themselves, with local Somerset produce a feature. Five bedrooms add to the inn’s appeal, as do an attractive terrace and small walled garden." - Michelin Inspector

Margot Henderson and Sessions Arts Club Open Restaurants Outside London | Eater London

"Led by Margot Henderson of Rochelle Canteen (and formerly the French House, Quality Chop House and the Eagle), this pub in Batcombe, Somerset will feature bedrooms and a walled garden. It will open with a menu familiar to fans of her Rochelle project, including devilled crab, ricotta gnudi made with cheese from local dairy Westcombe, and a chicken and tarragon pie." - James Hansen

Visited for lunch and the food was delicious and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Very nice decor and well presented. Great that we could bring the dog and the log burner was on and giving its warmth on a chilly day. Enjoyed the beers on draught especially the Otter Ale. Food was served quickly and mains were delicious. Special mention goes to the Scotch eggs which were the best. Dessert was delicious, the Lemon Meringue pie was superb. Will come again.

The plaudits for The Three Horseshoes are flowing in right now... a Top 5 gastropub in the UK, Timeout naming it a Top 10 restaurant in the country. We were extremely excited to try it. And it didn't disappoint. The standout dish, the venison gnocchi starter, was nothing short of sensational. The basque cheesecake was baked perfectly. And the sticky toffee pudding was a brilliant example of Britain's favourite dessert. Our mains - the venison pie and the halibut - we're slightly less remarkable. The former was extremely rich, making it a challenge to enjoy from first to last bite. The latter was tasty but a little tough. But no matter - the atmosphere is a delight, the team are lovely (and we're particularly kind to our dog) and the food really is excellent (if a tiny bit inconsistent for us). Wonderful place to stop for a fantastic meal.

Gastro pub restaurant. Great decor service and atmosphere appealing to weekenders in the area. Food is very good, but all prices are top end which impacts value for money. 12/25 its £200 for two for a 3 course Sunday lunch Inc drinks

Food was amazing with surprisingly large portions and the menu had something for everyone. Great selection of local ales as well! Service was very good and quite fast despite being reasonably busy. Highly recommended!

Best pub in Somerset, if not the UK. Favourite place to go at Christmas, incredible food, excellent drinks and amazing staff. Shout out to the manager, Josh, who goes above and beyond the call of duty.

Just back from a disappointing time a 3 horseshoes. Nice place nice people but poor service and basic overpriced food. Waited 40 mins for starters . We were brought complimentary bread and olives. Then wrong main course arrived one of which was cold. Basic venison and potatoes with gravy for £29 .no veg or anything. We ordered dripping chips they didn’t arrive . Told the waitress when she arrived not to bother . She said it would be removed from bill. Bill arrived with a 12.5 % service charge and later I noticed the chips at £6 still on the bill . Poor.

Occasionlly delicious food. Although atmosphere of the origional pub has been lost. With an arrogant front of house and general service to be questioned not in character with Somersets country style.

We had an absolutely delicious lunch here, the food was sublime, the service was great and the setting is stunning - we will definitely be returning! We had a green bean and anchovy salad to start which was really flavoured and tasty, a monkfish curry and cod with saffron bisque for mains and a lemon meringue pie for dessert. All of it was perfect!
