I took my daughter here for brunch, and we were really disappointed. Although we had a reservation, we were not seated right away, and it seemed as though the hostess was unhappy and confused. When we were seated, we were given one of the least desirable tables. Restaurants get busy, so whatever. We decided to overlook that, and just enjoy our brunch together.
We ordered a blackberry basil paloma (for me), biegnets, California Benedict with no bacon, and the garden vegetable omelet. The drink was fine - not good enough to order it again, but good enough to drink. The biegnets were the best thing we ordered. They were not the same as Cafe Du Monde biegnets, a little flatter and the dough was different, but they were good. Because they had limited options for vegetarians, my daughter ordered the California Benedict without bacon. They put bacon on it anyway. My omelet was okay, but the potatoes were the best part of my entree.
The service was well below average. Our server wasn't openly rude, but it was clear that our table was her lowest priority. It wasn't our server who brought they food out, so maybe that person didn't know the order was wrong. Even so, the server assigned to our table should have checked to see if our food was okay. She was busy, but chose to spend the majority of her time with other guests. By the time we got her attention about the food, it was almost thirty minutes later, and I had already given my daughter half of my entree. Our brunch was a bust by that time. We were both really disappointed as this was a special occasion for us.
I would not recommend this restaurant for vegetarians. Most of the patrons that day were age 70+. Maybe this place just appeals to a different demographic.
