Women- & minority-owned bakery making organic pies from local ingredients for pick-up or delivery.
"If you’ve been denied the wonders of pumpkin pie because you’re avoiding gluten, head to Three Babes. The Saturday-only Ferry Building Farmers Market stand serves a pumpkin pie with a loose pudding-like filling atop a firm chocolate cookie crust (that doesn’t crumble at the sight of a knife). That (and gluten-filled versions) are sold by the slice or whole. Whole pies can also be pre-ordered for pick-up at their Mission commercial kitchen." - ricky rodriguez, patrick wong, julia chen 1
"Three Babes Bakeshop (which, despite its name, was founded by two women) is a Saturday-only Ferry Building Farmers Market stand with fantastic seasonal pies and solid pastries. Staples like their strawberry rhubarb and classic apple stay on year-round, but throughout the year, you’ll see limited-time flavors for upcoming holidays like pumpkin for Thanksgiving and bourbon pecan for Christmas. Gluten-free crustless pies or versions swapping pastry shells for chocolate cookies are also regularly on rotation. Each pie's crispy, flaky crust comes packed so full of fillings, you'll feel retroactively cheated by every other slice you’ve had in the past. Pies are sold by the slice or whole at their stand. Whole pies, as well as other pastries including chocolate chip cookies and fruit crumbles, can be preordered and picked up at their commercial kitchen in the Mission." - Patrick Wong
"If you’re looking to go all-in on pies this year, San Francisco’s Three Babes Bakeshop has you covered." - Lauren Saria
"Three Babes Bakeshop sources fruit from local farms and folds them into classic pies with flaky and buttery layers. Dig into strawberry crumble or apple pie, or try the bourbon pecan option for something a little different." - Dianne de Guzman, Becky Duffett, Eater Staff
"Among the good things to come out of COVID have been the big-hearted gifts that friends near and far have sent one another. Not Amazon cards via email, but real-life care packages: I’ve randomly received banana bread and bottles of wine, and I’ve randomly sent oysters, delivered pho, and dropped off warm challah. The other day, deep in the fog, at an old-school party in Golden Gate Park, I was a tangential beneficiary of another food surprise: A blackberry pie from Three Babes Bakeshop." - Eater Staff
