How Black Chefs Are Leading a Vegan Fast-Food Movement | Bon Appétit

"A vegan BBQ and soul-food restaurant that regularly draws lines around the block, this Oakland eatery offers indulgent plant-based comfort dishes meant to compete with mainstream fast food. Menu highlights include fried lumpia stuffed with Impossible meat, onions and spices, a plant-based nacho cheesesteak, and candied yams brushed with cinnamon; the owner positions the menu as a healthier, culturally familiar alternative to chains like McDonald’s." - ByKayla Stewart

This is a great food truck ,vegan food. I was truly impressed with all the different dishes.! My favorite dish was the steak and cheese. The greens are off the hook. They give you so many different options. Yams and coleslaw everything we had was really good. The young lady who we placed our order with was really helpful and excited about the food herself.

Wow lost my business today! Customer service is everything! After I had reviewed yall and even posted on social media and really loved this place. I’ve been spending a lot of money with yall especially delivery thru door dash! For the last 4 orders they have not given me the vegan mobb sauce I pay extra for. Instead they give bbq sauce knowing darn well that ain’t what I ordered! I hate bbq sauce! I’m a sauce head…to me the sauce makes the whole meal to me… This last time I was over it! I’m paying 40 bucks for a one person meal and yall don’t have enough respect to give me what I paid for 4 times in a row. I specifically checked with the dasher and he showed me a pic of bbq instead of the vegan mobb sauce before he left! he asked them 4 times for my sauce and They were rude to the dasher. They yelled at him and lied to him. And literally refused to give him the right thing! I’ve attached pics of everything. Love this place!!!! Fried oysters are the best! I love the Mac and cheese…yams…oh my!!!!!! Greens! Beans! Coleslaw! Potato salad! everything is divine! Made with love! Deliciousness served fast, hot, and super tasty!!!!!

Ate from their food truck at Lake Merritt for Juneteenth. Sooooo good!! couldn’t believe the baked mac & cheese didn’t have actual cheese in it. The texture of the fried chicken was really good and the greens were not too salty. Sweet potatoes were great. Definitely going again. I think I paid $22 for a plate of sweet potatoes, baked mac & cheese greens and fried vegan chicken.

Our company was holding a staff event and vegan cuisine was the theme. Vegan Mob came highly recommended from a staff member who admitted to making several night runs a week from East Contra Costa into Oakland to pick-up their "Soul Rolls". From that testament, we contacted Terrell who happily help set us up with their family pack so that 15 of us could sample vegan food. Terrell (along with Carlos) delivered our food at the designated time and was so wonderful in person. The food far exceeded our expectations and it was "amazingly delicious and flavorful!" We ordered their famous fried "chicken" and shrimp, and it came with their sides of Smackaroni (mac and cheese), greens(yum), Tasha's slaw, and potato salad. And because we were so curious about the "Soul Rolls" (you have to try them! Sooo good!) Terrell included a complimentary small side of them for us to try. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed Vegan Mob and have said that they would seek them out to try out the rest of their offerings. Thank you, Terrell and Vegan Mob!

It’s THA MOB!!! They don’t skimp on flavor or portions. Proving every time that vegan food is here to stay. Order anything! There’s a sweet spicy accent on all dishes, even the nachos! I brought this and a chicken and ribs to a party and the meat eaters acted skeptical but sucked it all down

If its a popular time (like sunday lunchtime) be prepared to wait for long. Lions mane sandwich so good but so tiny 😭 Would have been a disaster if I didn't order the combo with brisket as well which is soooo worth the wait!!! Fav is the candied sweet potato and the macaroni

Google
The food is WAY TF over priced. Ain't no way 1 scoop of vegan mac n cheese is $7. Brisket kinda sucked too. Over all left sad because portion is abysmal for the price. Oh and their vegan fried shrimp is weird AF, and their vegan fried chicken is literally just a tofu block fried up. They didn't even try there

I tried to order through Uber eats. Ordered at 7:04, order was confirmed, then 45 minutes later the order mysteriously gets canceled. The food in general is ok and over priced but I thought I'd give it another try. But nope. Store doesn't even close for another 45 minutes.

Yelp
The Mob Fries were AMAZING! That's the only think I've tried so far. Service was good and prompt when we were there. I agree it's a little pricey, but that's the "vegetarian/vegan tax!" Meat is always the most pricey ingredient, but the vegan option costs more!?

Yelp
Pulled up to the Vegan Mob food truck on Lake Park Ave in Oakland. (They've got a building behind the truck--don't know why, but I stayed in my lane.) I ordered the Fried Shroom Burger, fries with no BBQ seasoning (I know, I know), and a mango lemonade. The burger was crispy, flavorful, and came with this tangy sauce that really brought everything together. Fries were solid, next time I'll get the BBQ seasoning to kick things up a notch. The mango lemonade was tasty but warm, definitely would've been better over ice. Shout out to the woman who took my order, super friendly and gave a great suggestion to upgrade my meal. My food came out fresh and fast while under 12 minutes. One bite of the mushroom was a little chewy, but hey, it's a mushroom. Portions were generous, flavors were on point, and I left full and satisfied. Can't wait to try more from the menu. Tip: Skip delivery, this is food that's best enjoyed fresh and straight from the truck.

Yelp
The food was fine. A little pricey. Especially for a food truck. My complaint is how long it took. We literally waited a half hour and there was no one in front of us. I am truly mystified.
