The 17 Best Restaurants In Inglewood - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"A meal at Veronica’s feels like you’re eating inside someone’s house, not an actual restaurant. The simple space has a few scattered tables and a grainy TV in the corner, but what it lacks in objective charm, it more than makes up for in tremendous Nigerian food. Whether you’re familiar with the cuisine or not, your first order of business here needs to be the egusi. It’s a rich, fragrant stew made from dried melon seeds, pumpkin leaves, palm oil, onions, and your choice of protein on top. We usually do a mix of chicken and goat, with a giant ball of fufu (pounded yam and plantains) on the side." - brant cox, nikko duren

Can TikTok Help Restaurants Succeed? It's Complicated | Bon Appétit

"A West African restaurant in Inglewood whose fufu blew up after a nail artist drove 80 miles to film herself trying it; the resulting video amassed about 6 million views and spawned a global #fufuchallenge that reportedly quadrupled business almost overnight. The spike illustrates how a single viral clip can dramatically drive traffic, but the restaurant’s most prominent viral exposure clustered in late 2021 and has shown far fewer breakout videos since." - ByMaggie Hennessy

Where to Eat Before the Game in L.A. | Eater

"Long before fufu had its viral social media moment earlier this year, Veronica Shoyinka was whipping up Nigerian favorites along Hillcrest. The restaurant’s name is almost on-the-nose in its simplicity; it’s quite possible that Shoyinka herself is on cooking duty when you arrive, and the dining room feels like a home, with the host bringing food out from the kitchen. The viral fufu and egusi soup are favorites, but the jollof rice is every bit as flavorful." - Vox Creative

I rode the bus for more than 2 hours to get here to try the food, and that is huge for me because I wouldn’t travel that far for food. I had the warmest welcome by the staff here, and I noticed how kind and courteous they were to every one and not just their own people. My experience of the food was really good. I had Abula with Goat Meat. “Abula” is the combination of Ewedu, Gbegiri, Tomato Stew, and Amala. The goat meat was really tender, and the food portion is very large in my opinion (which is very good). The menu is very simple to navigate, and the eating the food takes one back home to the feeling of eating good food in Nigeria. I will definitely be visiting this place again anytime I am in its environment.

Google
The food is decent, and I appreciate the hard-working cooks in the back. However, the cashier will be the downfall of this place. I went yesterday, and she had a huge attitude with me when I wanted to add a side of rice to my order. It was last minute, but instead of simply saying no, she rolled her eyes and acted annoyed, so I changed my mind. Later, there were customers eating together. The cashier accidentally overcharged one of them and gave her less change. When the customer pointed it out, the receptionist gave her attitude again. Shortly after, a man who was with the group asked for napkins. She grabbed a bottle of napkins and basically slammed them on the opposite side of the counter, forcing him to walk over and get them. He asked her why she did that when he was standing right there. The customer told her she needed to be more cheerful and that her behavior was extremely rude. I definitely won’t be coming back here.

Google
I was hesitant to try this place based on the reviews. You will see a mix of 1 to 4 stars. However, we were pleasantly surprised with everything. The food was great! Two of us ordered efo riro (I had fish, the other goat) and it was great. Tasted good and the portion size was great! It came out hot and we were happy. Our friend ordered pepper soup which was also good. The wait for the food wasn't short and also not extremely long. For the price, we thought the quantities were great! The woman taking care of orders was also kind. Out of many Nigerian places we've tried, this one of the best ones. We will be back and would recommend as well.

Google
Like many other reviewers, I had heard positive things about this restaurant. However, I had to wait a half hour (15% tip was mandatory) for my egusi, which was actually quite disappointing. It was greasy and unhealthy

Me, my sister, and cousin stopped here looking for something to eat since we had plans to go out. We were originally gonna go to some Korea buffet but we thought about fufu and went to this amazing restaurant. At first we thought we were being ignored but it turns out it’s because we were sitting in the back😭 but once we went up to the front to find our food we sat in the front, (pls sit in the front!) despite that we opened our food and were allowed to evenly distribute our food among three people with just two soups and one fufu. The fufu and soups, AMAZING. So good, the fufu tastes just like mashed potatoes for those who don’t know, the soups are always hot no matter what as they are filled with delicious spices and seasonings.

Google
Delicious, Generous Portions – Take It To-Go and Thank the Chef! My wife and I tried the Egusi soup and Okra-Ogbono soup (both without meat), and we were blown away. Each soup came with a serving of Fufu (pounded yam), and we ordered three extras—but we definitely didn’t need that much. The portions are huge. Each soup came in a large to-go container, and we only managed to eat about a third of each. At $20 per soup (even without meat), it’s absolutely worth the price for the quantity and quality. The flavor was outstanding—spicy, rich, and full of depth, even without any meat. We brought the food home, and over an hour later it was still steaming hot. The Fufu was soft, moist, and perfect. No need to reheat. Just a heads-up: both soups come spicy, so be ready for some heat! The highlight of our visit, aside from the food, was the older woman who seemed to be in charge of the kitchen—she might even be the owner. She was incredibly warm, helped us order, and genuinely made us feel welcome. She even asked us to come back if we enjoyed the food. Her kindness left a lasting impression. That said, the front-of-house service could use some work. The cashier was slow, nearly overcharged us, and forgot we had already paid. It was a bit of a mess, even with 3 people running the front. But the food and the kindness from the back of the house more than made up for it. If you’re trying this for the first time, I recommend taking it to-go and enjoying it in the comfort of your home. We’ll definitely be coming back—because the food and that sweet lady made it worth it.

Drove 2hours to eat here. Did NOT disappoint. My partner even cried of happiness lol & that says a lot. Food & everything was amazing. Definitely coming back!!!

Google
I arrived at the restaurant right at opening time and was the very first customer, yet the restaurant was not open when I got there. After placing my order, I ended up waiting one hour and sixteen minutes just to receive a single meal—jollof rice with stew, plantain, and whiting fish. When I was paying, the cashier asked if I would be using cash or card. I told her card, and although she gave me the price, she then charged an additional $4.45, explaining that “the computer does it,” essentially adding a tip to what turned out to be extremely poor service. While the food itself was good, the service was unacceptable. Because of this experience, I will not be returning

Yelp
THIS IS MY SPOT! I absolutely love this place! Worth the drive all the way from Bellflower. Excellent customer service as soon as I walked in super sweet and welcoming. THE FOOD HERE IS AMAZING! Lastly the ambiance in the establishment is family oriented and very clean from front to back every time I visit. Thanks again!

Yelp
I really like this place and appreciate what it brings to the community. This was my second time visiting Veronica's, and I brought my mom along to experience the flavors of Nigerian cuisine. I've tried about five different Nigerian spots now, so I do have a point of comparison. What stood out most to me was the exceptional customer service. Veronica is truly wonderful--warm, hospitable, and clearly hardworking. You know the restaurant is good simply due to the loyal customers who keep coming back. The space is clean, well-maintained, and inviting. I also appreciated the variety of protein options and the ability to go vegetarian, which isn't always easy to find with traditional dishes. As for the food--it's solid. We ordered the veggie egusi and shrimp efo riro. While the flavors are bold and authentic, the use of crayfish was a bit heavy for my personal taste. That said, taste is subjective, and others might really enjoy that depth of flavor. So if you're curious about African food or open to trying something new, Veronica's might just be your spot. Would I return? Yes--especially if I'm in the area. I admire the care put into this establishment, and that alone makes it worth supporting.

Yelp
Good things: the server explained everything thoroughly, and let us know that traditionally, the meat is not as tender as meat we may be accustomed to. The portions are large enough for 2 people to share. The jollof rice with chicken was the favorite. We were a part of four, and one person loved the fufu. The just okay: We all agreed that the plantains were extremely dry and didn't taste fresh. This could be because I'm used to Cuban-style plantains that are softer, less dry, and often syrupy sweet. We didn't finish the plantains or the puff puff, which are like little donuts but lacked sweetness and were pretty dense and dry. Maybe this is typical, though. We ordered one meat pie. It was also a bit dry but it was flavorful and I used some of the sauce from the chicken to give the crust some moisture. There were mixed reviews in the egusi (we got one with beef and one with chicken,) but the consensus was that the chicken was much better and strangely, the egusi's flavor was much different in each dish although only the proteins were different. The egusi with beef was by far not the favorite. Again, I know there are many styles of African food and I am far from a connoisseur, so what we had might be usual Nigerian flavors and textures. We tried this place because of the good reviews, and I'm glad we did, but I'm curious to try other types of African cuisine.

Yelp
My first time ever having fufu and egusi soup and I will most certainly be back for more! The soup was so flavorful and Had three whole chicken drums sticks!! the fufu was so soft and easy to eat. The dining area is elegant and large enough that you can easily be seated away from another patron for a more intimate dining experience. Service was as quick as it could be, they make everything fresh so if you go in early be ready to wait a little but it's going to be worth it.

Yelp
This was my first time trying Nigerian food and I'd say it is definitely worth the hype. The parking is free, but small; however we went when it wasn't as busy so parking was easy to find. We were welcomed and seated quickly. Our server (unfortunately we didn't get any names) explained each dish and made recommendations. Since it was my first time, it was recommended for me to get the Egusi and Jollaf Rice. My friend and I both ordered Egusi with Chicken and it comes with Fufu (pounded yam). Two bowls of water were given for us to rinse our hands (since we chose to eat with our hands and not utensils), quickly after, freshly hot Fufu and Egusi came out. The servers were very attentive and friendly. The fufu tasted like a sticky (or gummy? but not in a bad way) mashed potato. The Egusi was delicious! Chicken was cooked to perfection. I'm unsure how to describe the Egusi, but I couldn't stop eating it. Ms. Veronica came out to greet the guests when it got a little busier and we had a conversation with her. I absolutely recommend dining at Veronica's Kitchen. The staff is extremely kind and the food is delicious. I definitely plan to make the drive to try more menu items!

Yelp
MY MANNNN Veronica is DA BOMB. I was SO surprised at how DELICIOUS this is. This is my first time eating Nigerian food and it is SO FLAVORFUL. This is definitely worth a try if you're feeling adventurous. I wish I lived closer to here, I would be coming here WEEKLY to try all their dishes. Great price. Amazing food. 100/100 experience.

Yelp
After seeing fufu and egusi soup go viral on tiktok I just HAD to try it for myself to see if it was worth the hype and it very much was. The fufu was very sticky and chewy like how I expected it to be. The taste was potato-y since it is made of yams which compliments the egusi soup's slight kick. I got it with beef that I did have to smyself. The jallof rice was not mushy and leaned more towards a dense grain. It had a nice spicy kick to it which paired really well with the red stew which I got with chicken.

Yelp
We came last night to grab some dinner. I was excited to try this place since I keep hearing about egusi and fufu and this was one of the few west African restaurants in the area. To start the entrance door was so hard to open lol everyone struggled and tried to other door. They definitely need to get that door fixed. We both ended up getting the egusi with fufu but I got mine with goat and my friend got his with beef. While it was tasty and super flavorful, I'm not sure what all the hype is with egusi hahaha I mean it's good but I'm not sure if I will crave it again. The fufu was also an interesting texture but flavorless so you definitely need the flavor of the stew to add to it.

Catalina R.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try fufu. And this place was recommended many times. Finally went today. Chicken Egusi had so much chicken in it and it was full of flavor. I see why its paired with fufu. On top of that the staff is friendly, welcoming, and you can feel the auntie love. Absolutely would recommend!

Yelp
Service was great . The young lady had a smile the whole time and was very attenative. Food was great . This is not a place where your food comes out quickly so plan accordingly. Relax and enjoy your meal or call ahead. Clean small space with a lot of cultural decor.

Yelp
I've been going to Veronica's kitchen for a few years now.. last couple of times has been hit and miss .. today I went and the eguesi was good this time but the fufu pound was brown a very strong vinegary taste was nasty as hell.. I called them but the young lady said that's the way they always make it... NO IT WAS NEVER NASTY LIKE THIS STUFF.. So if u do go here check ur food before leaving...

Yelp
This food is amazing!!!!! Had never tried African food before and this blew my mind. It's a small hole in the wall but from what I can tell they own the whole building? They do take quite some time getting the food ready so just keep that in mind and either order way ahead of time or just prepare to wait. The egusi with fufu and jollof was everything I needed on a cold Saturday morning. I definitely plan on coming back!
google avatar

Jaime T.

Yelp
Parking: Small lot. It was easy to find parking at night, but it could get tricky during busier times. I didn't know exactly what to expect, but this place was so good, and the food came out hot! Prepare yourself, though--service is on the slower side. I honestly think they forgot about us because we waited 30 minutes, and a couple next to us got their food before we did. But these are minor things because the food was that good. I had fufu, egusi, and goat stew. For my Vietnamese food lovers, I'd say egusi is kind of like bun rieu. I highly recommend it--it has an eggy, garlicky flavor, though I'm not sure if that's exactly what's in there. The goat stew was definitely spicier and had that gamey flavor, but I really enjoyed it too. I definitely recommend this place if you're in the area or if you want to try something new! I'll definitely be coming back.
google avatar

Nickolas B.

Yelp
Update: I went back again about a week or two ago and tried the jollof rice and chicken. The wait was still very long, though they said my order would be ready in about an hour, It took about two hours (and I called just as they opened). But the food was really good! It was excellent! I pretty much inhaled it. This time was Far much better than my last visit. I will come back again. You just have to expect that your food may take a lot longer to be ready, ..even than what ever time they give you when you order. To be fair though, the place was packed! The line was out of the door when I went to pick up the food. So, it was very busy that day!
google avatar

Christina P.

Yelp
I've tried their food at a friend's house several times before but this was my first time eating at the restaurant. The staff is so friendly and the food is delicious! We had red stew with goat, okra ogbono with goat, jollof rice with plantains, fufu, moi moi, and beef suya. I enjoyed everything but the suya was my favorite! I also tried Vitamalt for the first time and was surprised with how much I liked it as I don't usually enjoy malt beverages.

Yelp
Amazing food and service at Veronica's Kitchen. The owner and chef, Veronica is a real life Nigerian Chief! She is a humble, welcoming, and talented chef and leader! I've had both take out and dine-in meals here. The fufu is outstanding. The egusi is mind blowing! We've ordered just about everything on the menu and loved it all! The staff is hard working and super friendly. Best Nigerian food outside of Nigeria! Promise!

Lavonda M.

Yelp
Tried this place for the first time, and I'm so glad I did! It's a local restaurant with a warm, welcoming vibe. I ordered the Egusi, and it was absolutely delicious -- rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care. You can tell the kitchen knows what they're doing. I'm definitely planning to go back and explore more items on the menu. A great first experience!

Yelp
Worst service I ever had I waited 2 hours for food before leaving do not recommend ever

Yelp
Roaches please beware, gross, yuck, eww. When I told the lady I would be leaving and the reason why she lied to the kitchen staff and said I had a flight and to cancel my order. The crazy part is the place look like it has roaches but I didn't expect it to actually have them, yuck.

Grace T.

Yelp
The food was delicious! It was my first time eating Nigerian food. Big portions. Took food home. Homemade quality. The service was great. Everyone was so welcoming. It's a community.

Taylor W.

Yelp
Service here is really hit or miss. We've been here 4 times in the past couple of months and our waitress Tina was extremely nice during this visit. But when we were checking out a woman with blond braids was extremely rude for no reason. I watched her literally shoo my girlfriend when she was trying to ask a question before paying, then smile at the man next to us. The food was excellent as usual. Compliments to the kitchen. But I think after today I'll be giving this restaurant a break for a couple of months. The experience we had checking out left a sour taste in our mouth. The disrespect was a little too blatant. Will no longer be suggesting this place to friends and family members, don't want them to be treated this way.

Sofia E.

Yelp
Friendly service, new and delicious flavors. I ordered the egusi stew with chicken, and fufu. I've tried 3 other restaurants before Veronica's and none of them were as good as Veronica's kitchen. It confirmed my desiring pallet for egusi after seeing it on TikTok. If you're curious about it, come here first!! But keep in mind the spices are unique and can be an acquiring taste to some.

Kelechi U.

Yelp
Was craving suya... Ordered suya beef on a whim and the suya came in a vacuum sealed bag with a seasoning packet and instructions to reheat it... not sure where they do that at for any Nigerian establishment? Lmao... then I had the nerve to try it and the reheated beef had a very weird smoky taste I couldn't stomach. Long story short: any place that would serve you a diy suya kit isn't to be trusted, I'm sorry.
google avatar

Ash Y.

Yelp
first time trying nigerian food and didn't know what to expect, but it was a pleasant surprise! the fufu was an interesting texture and it was fun to try something i've never had before. i personally wouldn't order the okra again as i realized that i don't enjoy it as much, but i really liked the egusi strew with chicken and beef. overall, it was a pleasant experience and pick up was a breeze.

Samantha V.

Yelp
This place is so good! After a failed attempt at trying to make egusi soup, and going to another restaurant where I wasn't a fan... I'm so glad I gave the dish a third try at Veronica's Kitchen and was able to taste egusi how I assumed it was suppose to taste from the beginning. The flavors were perfect and now I have something to go off of when I decide to try to make it again (lol). I'm actually so disappointed that the restaurant is a 6-7 hour drive from where I live or else I'd probably eat here regularly. Everyone was so friendly including the people who sat next to us who we spoke with the whole time we were eating. I will for sure be back when I'm in the area and would recommend everyone to come here if you want to try delicious Nigerian food.
google avatar

Eddie T.

Yelp
Veronica your food is amazing. Its hands down a great Nigerian menu. We ended up getting the fufu with the beef egusi. Which does not disappoint. You MUST try it because it it worth the hype!! The establishment itself is very small on the inside, so be prepared to take your items home. The food is pipping hot and ready to eat as soon as you get out of the car LOL. Its super duper delicious!! Our only complaint is: Your order system really needs to improve. This is twice we've come and you cannot find our order. To top it off, we waited an additional 1 hour for our food to be ready - Its very unacceptable!!! We understand the volume of orders and running a small business, but make sure to please emphasize that our order will not be ready and to come in 2 hours. Other than that, THE FOOD SPEAKS FOR ITSELF!! You have to try what she has to offer!! The cook is amazing and the food is too!! Sorry no pictures, we rushed home and gobbled it up LOL

Yelp
I've been to this restaurant multiple times since it went viral in 2020. I can honestly eat here every day, it's that good. The restaurant moved to a new building and it's clean and spacious. The workers there are always so friendly and nice. I got egusi with chicken today and fufu. I've been to several Nigerian restaurants in Los Angeles County and this is by far my favorite place to get egusi. Give it a try.

Yelp
Authentic Nigerian home cooking, close to LAX. The menu is varied, including regional dishes served in family style portions. Prices may seem high, but dishes feed 3-4 people. The interior is casual and simply decorated, with a small amount of seating. They serve Nigerian beer and wine. I knew I had made a good choice when the other patrons dining at Veronica's informed me that they are Nigerian. As I waited for my takeout order, we chatted about popular Nigerian dishes and how to eat them, which I appreciated, since this was my first time trying the cuisine. To be honest, I had ordered without knowing what I was getting lol. I was happy to have made some friends to talk with, since I waited 45 minutes for my takeout order, despite the restaurant not being busy. I ended up with Edikaikong, a spicy and healthy Nigerian classic with flavorful greens and big hunks of preserved fish. I loved the greens, which I enjoyed with the firm, creamy mashed potato-esque fufu. The fish was way too salty for me; I will ask for an entirely vegetarian dish next time. I also enjoyed the Nigerian beer, which reminded me of Coors Banquet.

Yelp
Awesome place for real Nigerian authentic food. If you are in Los Angeles and craving for Nigeria food go to Veronica's restaurant

Yelp
Was looking forward to the rice but again was let down the rice was very bland . The stew was okay but tasted like canned tomatoe paste . I also think the servers should work on customer service . They were kind of rude . I guess different cultures so I could've misinterpreted but still if your working in customer service wether the culture is different you should still be pleasant .

RyeChelle C.

Yelp
We were looking at the menu and wasn't sure of some things. She was rude and we left. Didn't order a thing I'm not paying for you to be rude as fuck I wouldn't even leave 1 star but I have too based alone in service

Yelp
this is my second time here. last time i was here was two years ago. they changed locations but this new place has a parking lot which i love! the food got so much better oh my god it was so delicious. the meat quality got better as well. I got the yam fufu and the beef egusi stew. I'll definitely be back soon!

Yelp
Great first experience! The food was really good. I've never had fufu or egusi and I'm glad I tried it. There was something going on with another customer but they were able to move it to the side and help me check out since I placed the order for pickup. I also asked about what chin chins are and the woman explained it to me fully before moving on to the next customer. It felt like a family restaurant, which was nice. Anyway, I look forward to going back and trying chin chins. Also, personally I would get an extra order of fufu for my soup next time.

Yelp
First time eating Nigerian food. Had the jollof rice, red stew, chicken, plantain, fufu & crawfish egusi. Pros: Everything was good. Portions were generous enough for 2. I finally understand fufu, it has a neutral barely there flavor, the flavor is provided by the rice, stew etc., folding the fufu around it changes the overall texture of everything, in a mashed potatoes type way(it is pounded yam so..) good flavor all around. Cons: take-out service can be spotty & unorganized, food not ready at given times is very annoying.

Yelp
The food is delicious, and portions are big. But preparation takes too long. I placed the order online, and it arrived an hour later. I still had to wait another 45 minutes. It defeated the purpose of ordering because I didn't want to wait for food to cook at home.

Yelp
I was there two Sundays ago with family and we ordered some Egusi and the green soup based on recommendations by King, our server/cashier. It was our first time there and the food was great. HOWEVER, it took so long. I do need to take the time to give kudos to King our server for being able to manage the demands all alone and even went to the kitchen to cook our food for us while still serving everyone else (alone). I do feel that if the restaurant had more workers it would save a lot of time for us the customers, and less stress for the staff. We came back again this past Sunday, and it was the same thing. We loved the food, but just keep in mind that there is going to be a long wait.

Yelp
Delicious dishes all round ordered the Pepper Soup which was spicy but hit the spot. It's very similar to a Mexican dish called Menudo but also includes liver. The Okra was my least fav dish but worth a try.. wish there was a smaller version because we felt bad not finishing it. We order the red stew too. Sauce tasted just like tomato soup soo good. and the Jollof rice was omg soo good and the paired chicken was probably our favorite. The chicken was crunchy and soaked in sauce too! The palm tree juice was surprisingly refreshing Overall great service, great recs we all left satisfied. Would go back

Yelp
So this spot just opened two weeks ago on Manchester so I've had Veronica's kitchen before when she was in Inglewood but now she's on Manchester let me tell you when I say delicious. I know I love fufu but I haven't had it in a long time because you know it on the heavy side, but oh my God this food is so so so good . The only this is the wait was long but worth it , just enjoy a drink while you wait .

Yelp
Veronica's Kitchen has some of the best jollof rice and egusi soup! The dishes are super flavorful and spice-heavy. The portions are very large and shareable, me and my boyfriend would have been full off of just the egusi and two swallows. The interior is clean, and the service is friendly. Be prepared to wait around 45 minutes for your food though, so don't arrive starving! I would recommend getting the goat over the beef. The beef chunks we had in the egusi were too tough to eat.

Yelp
Veronica's Kitchen is a great find. The Egusi was hearty and deliciously seasoned, and the Jollof rice was so flavorful. The environment is warm and friendly, and the staff make us feel right at home. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Hands down, egusi soup with goat meat!!!! Fire!!! I love the vibes of a mom and pop family owned restaurant, typically those come with the best food and this was definitely that. Did not disappoint one bit... thank you for feeding me hahah loved it!

Yelp
They open at 11 and I got here right as they opened so I understood that they had to get themselves ready to open... I placed my order and it took 2 hours to get my food... I ordered jollof rice n red stew... and after I realized it didn't come with fufu I went back to order some... while I was there she was sweeping the floor so I'm assuming the floor wasn't cleaned the night before and she swept all that in front of me I could see all that dirt flying in the air that it flared my asthma... I will never again go there... I girl that attended me was rude too which was the only female that I attended me the whole time.

Yelp
When I first walked in I felt good about everything and the service however my food had a hair in it and I politely asked for a replacement and the lady was super nice about it but the people in the kitchen not so much while my food was back there the cook shouted just remove the hair and give it back . I was appalled by how she chose to respond to this issue .

Yelp
During my visit to enjoy a delicious meal with a friend , I was met with ghastly customer service and was extremely disappointed. We were not welcomed and had to ask where we could sit. Despite being the only customers in the store we waited almost 5-6 minutes just to receive a menu. I don't know the name of the girl at the register but she had on a necklace that said "Demola" so we will refer to her as such. When interacting with Demola she seemed as though we were a nuisance to her as she was enjoying using her iPad/tablet at the front counter when we arrived. When the food eventually was brought to our table there was no reply or acknowledgement when we expressed our thanks for the arrival of the food and drinks (The food was great, our compliments to the chef, I'm happy that at least it wasn't an added disappointment). When requesting for a container and bag to pack our remaining meal, demola was engaging in lively conversation with an older male customer (Which proved to me that her behavior was indeed intentional, and that she wasn't just having an "off day"). Upon hearing my request she all but rolled her eyes at me and continued her conversation with the gentleman. I moved closer to the counter and made eye contact with her, only then did she get up to get the bag. Moments before handing me the bag, she released it. Had I not been quick to catch it I would have had to pick it up from the floor. My friend has never visited Veronica's Kitchen and only agreed to come based on my recommendation. It was a terrible experience and a wrong 1st impression. I'm wondering if demola is why the store was empty that day. The young lady Demola needs to attend a course on customer service and hospitality. She is the sole reason our short visit was filled with hostility. We immediately left and agreed not to come back again. Such behavior is cancerous to good business and general human interaction. I pray she will do better in the future.

Yelp
Service was slow. Food was different. Ambiance was very ethnic. The food was so different I'm not sure whether I liked it or hated it. Probably hated.
