"If you want art and vineyards together, Villa La Coste sits conveniently close to Aix and provides that combination in a single estate setting." - Caitlin Morton

"Recently awarded The MICHELIN Guide's most prestigious hotel distinction (Three Keys), this gem, located just 20 minutes from Aix-en-Provence, stretches over 200 hectares. Designed by Frank Gehry, Oscar Niemeyer, Tadao Ando, and Jean Nouvel." - The MICHELIN Guide

"Built into a pretty hillside, this 28-suite villa—an assembly of low-slung rectangles in natural stone with green-planted roofs—looks as though it may have sprung up from Mother Earth when no one was watching. The latest addition to the 600-acre Château La Coste, a wine estate and contemporary arts centre, it combines deep comfort with a minimalist, vaguely Asian vibe. Each of the big, valley-facing bedrooms is a luminous space with floor-to-ceiling windows and a vast terrace. There are gauzy white four-posters and all-marble bathrooms. Museum-quality art abounds (a Perriand bookcase, a Hirst painting) as do places to eat. Steps away is the glass jewel-box Louison and Le Salon, serving all-organic specialities such as chicken with olives and lemon-fennel tart. But the real star of the show here is the landscape, a wondrous vista of pines, oaks and distant foothills entirely in sync with the uncluttered aesthetic of the hotel." - Lanie Goodman, Sarah James

"Villa La Coste is one of the only Three Key hotels in France. It is a striking hotel surrounded by one of the most remarkable art collections in the world. Villa La Coste is much more than a hotel with some artworks. It's a sculpture park, a design center, an architectural showcase, and a historic Provençal wine estate. The 28 suites and villas offer luxurious accommodation with private terraces and views over the vineyards. The hotel features a fine dining restaurant Hélène Darroze at Villa La Coste, an Argentinian restaurant by Francis Mallman, a café restaurant designed by Tadao Ando in the Art Centre, and a gorgeous spa." - The MICHELIN Guide

"Much more than a hotel with some artworks, this 600-acre sculpture park, design center, and architectural showcase grew from Patrick McKillen’s art-obsessed vision and now ranks among the MICHELIN Guide’s first-ever Three Key properties. Behind each rolling hill is another world-class piece: a bronze spider by Louise Bourgeois poised over water; a Renzo Piano pavilion with rotating exhibits; structures by Frank Gehry, Tadao Ando, and Richard Serra; the last project by Oscar Niemeyer; and installations from Bob Dylan and Michael Stipe, plus a Damien Hirst show running until June 2024. After years of commissions, the estate opened to the public in 2011, and, five years later, visitors could finally stay overnight at the highly luxurious on-site hotel." - The MICHELIN Guide
