Compared to a Michelin star restaurant in SF, I would say this restaurant is like a 3.5/5 star. But hey, what do I know?
Regarding consistency in the service, rather than providing consistent service throughout to their customers, it seemed like a local hangout spot where they take care of their locals. I totally get their business model of having to be taken care of their own, but it was a lackluster experience for us as travelers who wanted the good food + service.
They have issues with their plumbing, being located in an old building. But just the casual conversations that they were having with their regulars about plumbing was not a really cherry on top of my culinary experience 🤢
Small details are everything. We added the Krut and kalbi bap add-ons. One was missed, but they were nice about it and offered a dessert wine as compensation.
All in all, I think experience was overall flat and a mismatch. The food was great quality and excellent. The wine, you can see they are trying to cut corners. Definitely not worth the premium $$$$ they are putting on to match their premium food. You need a balance. Either bring the food quality down, or match the wine experience.
One liner synop: the value is not there yet.
