15 Standout Spots in Nolita

"The group behind Kimika and Wayla opened Wan Wan in 2022, a stylish Thai and Chinese restaurant, to the fold. Bangkok-born chef Tom Naumsuwan has put together a menu of regional Thai dishes — including moo tod nam pla (fried pork belly glazed in fish sauce) and yum hoi (crispy scallop tempura)." - Eater Staff

Wan Wan – New York - a MICHELIN Guide Restaurant

"Smack in the heart of SoHo, Wan Wan delivers on its promise of deeply flavorful Thai cuisine. The long, narrow space is capped by a glass facade, allowing diners to take in the classic SoHo street scene, though the steaming bowls and plates ferried to your table will likely steal your focus. Moo hong, or braised spare ribs marinated in soy, ginger and garlic, are at their sticky-sweet, rich and peppery best. Classic ped krob is given a modern slant here, with cold, smoky duck paired with kale, crisp green apples and cherry tomatoes dressed with a hoisin-based vinaigrette. It's equal parts spicy, salty, sweet and smoky. Guay tiew tom yum is a well-known Thai soup; Wan Wan's version tucks knobs of sweet Maine lobster in the spicy, heady broth." - Michelin Inspector

The Best Dishes Eater Editors Ate This Week, October 2023 - Eater NY

"As crowds devastated Mulberry Street during the Feast of San Gennaro, otherwise known as the Feast of All Feasts, I couldn’t help but feel like I was paying homage one story underground at Wan Wan’s low-lit bar. The mushroom curry is a triumph of various fungi afloat in a generous portion of coconut cream and red curry paste. Scooping in white rice, with a fish bowl-esque boozeless drink in hand, I felt like the Michelin Guide-recommended restaurant was a total steal." - Eater Staff

The 13 Best Restaurants In Nolita - New York - The Infatuation

"Wan Wan is from the team behind Wayla, a Thai spot on the LES that you’ve probably heard about. Like Wayla, this Nolita restaurant serves impressive Thai food, although the menu is centered around Phuket-style dishes with Chinese influence. Bring a small group, and share some small plates like the frisée salad with tempura scallops and marinated spare ribs that fall apart as soon as you look at them. The main dining room is dark and casual, with brick walls and pink banquettes, and there’s a loungy space in the basement where you can also book a table." - Bryan Kim
