This hidden gem near the airport boasts a vast selection of fresh seafood, complemented by a casual cafe serving crispy onion rings and flavorful dishes.
"Oklahoma’s far from any coastal shoreline, but White River Fish Market is still a solid bet for fresh seafood. Don’t be deterred by the industrial surroundings; the business is intentionally situated near the airport in order to immediately receive shipments of fish, flown in from coasts throughout North and South America. Established as a market in 1932, White River now operates an old-school diner for the lunch and dinner crowd. Order at the counter for everything from fresh oysters to frog legs, and don’t forget to grab a slice of pie." - Jess Brent
"White River Fish Market in Tulsa, where generations of families have gone to feast on fresh Gulf catfish, red beans and rice, gumbo, rainbow trout, and endless hushpuppies. Located in an unassuming strip mall not far from the airport, has a strong cafeteria vibe with Formica tables pushed close together. It opened in 1932 as a counter-service fish market in downtown Tulsa at the height of the Great Depression. The restaurant part didn’t come for another decade. In 1965 the market and restaurant moved to its current location. Its simple, folksy founding motto, 'you pick ’em, we fix ’em' works as a kind of de facto mission statement that endures to this day." - ByJeff Martin
