Food was good, prices reasonable. The restaurant looks like a hole in the wall, may not seem appealing, but the food tastes authentic. They have good customer service. The egg-roll was served cold, something I’m not used to… Bathrooms were not clean, so we didn’t use them.

I read other people’s reviews and saw the rating so decided to try this place out. The restaurant isn’t the prettiest and looks old but the food is so good. There was a consistent stream of people in the restaurant and at the walk up order window. The portion sizes are huge for a resonable price. The favor is excellent-juicy, balance and fresh!

This place has very very good dim sum, buns, and more. It is super great taste-wise but I'll have to say that if you are not Asian, you might not be used to how the workers treat you. That's okay, just keep it in mind and if you can ignore that, you will not regret eating here. I recommend trying the buns and dim sum. Super affordable and tasty!

Ok if you’re looking for cheap Chinese food but real good…Won Kok Restaurant is the place! My brother & I got the Special Chinese Family Dinner #1 which consists of: egg flower soup, chicken wings, egg roll, pork chow mein, mushroom chicken, sweet & sour pork (my fave) and pork fried rice (2nd fave). It was a feast to say the least!! There’s a short wait to get a table but once seated it’s decent wait time to have all those food mentioned. Did I forget to mention all those were only $42?? We had to get to-go boxes bec it was a lot! Definitely worth coming. A tiny parking spot for restaurant goers is a plus. They also have a Dimsum line on the side. This wasn’t my first time here….or my last! 😊👍🏼

I drove there from Irvine just to taste the dim sum here. It is very authentic Cantonese flavor. Can you believe it?🙃 Look at the price list. 🤩The price is very reasonable. Look at the menu. 🤓There are many varieties. Even if you are very picky, there will be one worth tasting.

It’s always a good experience coming to this restaurant . The food is do good and every item is delicious. The take out window opens early and the menu is great.

I've been going to this place for over 15 years. My daughter and I ate wor wanton soup without noodles, house special combination crispy chow mein, and fried pork chop with spicy salt. To drink, they always give free hot tea and we ordered 2 Sprites. The Sprite was served in cans with cups of ice you can pour it into. The food is ALWAYS delicious! We were able to finish our Wor Wonton Soup, and finished half of the Fried Pork Chop with Spicy Salt and House Special Crispy Chow Mein. We've ordered other dishes before but wanted to highlight today's order that we took pictures of. Not pictured, we ordered dim sum to go: 3 Steamed chicken buns 3 BBQ pork buns 6 sesame balls 6 rice cakes 1 dozen pork dumpling 1 dozen shrimp dumpling 1 jumbo cream bun 3 new egg rolls 6 chili oil Without tip, our total was $103.13

Food is terrific however count your items on the take out counter, there is a lady here who for some reason had been shorting items on your take out, and will ignore you if you try to get her attention. Happened on 3 persons ahead of us in the line. Count your items before you leave.’

Can't beat $1-2 dim sum. The winners were the desserts! Egg custard tarts and pineapple buns w/real pineapple chunks in it. Yummy when super fresh. The sit down area will charge $2 per person for tea, and you can order off their entree menu. The walk up window always has a line, wait depends on traffic that day. The wrappers were. Little thick on the har ago, and the fillings tasted a little too minced w/less seasoning. But again, you can't beat $1-2 prices. I'd be back specifically for the pastries.

This review is only for the dim sum. Tried this place after getting a few videos in my feed about it and how cheap it was. It was aight. Nothing was particularly noteworthy. You get what you pay for? Not trying to be insensitive, but there were one or two items that did not look appetizing at all. They still tasted ok. Service was good. Attentive and fast.

We rolled up on a Sunday afternoon to this quaint corner off of the main strip and a somewhat substantial line around the building. The line was filled with friendly and hungry patrons excited to order boxes and boxes of dim sum. The menu is expansive but the dim sum window has a limited selection of the classic dim sum options. We opted for the har gow, pork shumai, cha Shao bao, and the pineapple custard bun. Wow! Everything was fantastic and the dumplings are hefty!! The cha Shao bao was delicious and the har gow really hit the spot. The chicken bun with sausage and egg was something unique--I had had similar things before but not quite the same. Finally the pineapple custard bun was really really good. I air fried it and the sesame balls later in the day and the crisp was delectable while the inside had a great punch to it. All in all, won Kok lives up to the hype, is a reliable option for classic dim sum, and worth the modest wait. We'll be back!

Classic dim sum place in Chinatown I've had growing up. Decided to try again for a quick togo dimsum after many years and was disappointed. The ham sui gok was crispy and had a tasty filling. Decent size for it. The chicken sticky rice has decent filling but chicken was very dry. Rice cake had a nice texture and taste. Pineapple custard had good custard inside but the crust was not good. Most of the food is on the colder side. I got an egg roll to try. It was cold but had a crispy skin and not really stuffed. The shu mai and har gow was not good. Shu mai was dense and the meat was too packed. The hargow had a thick skin with minimal shrimp filling. The baked bbq bun was hollow and something was off with it. The egg custard tasted undercooked. Crust was not flaky and the custard is just sweet. Did not have any egg flavor. The sponge cake was too moist and didn't have much flavor. Almond cookie was dense but has an almond flavor. They have a small parking lot and a window outside for dimsum togo. Cheap dimsum but you get what you paid for. Would not come back here.

I love the dim sum here if you like the fast food version where you can order by the piece at the walk-up window. A great place to visit when you are in Chinatown and want a snack or even dinner. I came here for dinner a while back and still remember that the fried pork chop was delicious. There is a very tiny parking lot for patrons, but it is also right next to a pay for the day parking lot as well.

Walked in around 2pm on a weekday for lunch. Whats really nice about this place is you can order singular pieces of dim sum, rather than just getting 1 order that comes with 3/4 pieces. We got the dim sum dishes below along with the beef chow fun. Food is tasty and came out pretty quickly. They have a busy takeout line as well but lots of tables available if you're looking to sit down inside. Really standard Chinese/dim sum restaurant with nice and friendly servers.

Always my favorite dim sum place to stop by. They used to be open til like 3am which was great. But unfortunately they close a lot earlier now. But whenever I'm in the area, it's always my go to.

My partner & I passed by, so we decided to try it for lunch. The good was absolutely delicious & affordable. The customer service was ideal. The restaurant was really big & lots of seating. Definitely coming back here!

Used to come here for Sunday family lunches more than a decade ago. Came back recently and maaan they still make everything as good as my nostalgia remembers. Generous, flavorful portions of Chinese food staples for cheap. Everything is seasoned well and they mastered the textures of a lot of the dishes. I remember always looking forward to Sundays for their house special crispy noodle and salt and pepper pork chops. Don't mind the servers. Theyve been there forever and they get the job done haha. And the place looks the same as it did more than a decade ago: functional and no fuss. Ugh cant wait to go back.

I love buying dumplings from here and you really cant get a good value in town like this today!

My friend and I were planning to dine in here, but we didn't realize that it's just the dim sum takeout counter that opens at 9am. Dine in opens at 10:30am. We opted to get some takeout anyway, and it was super yummy! The sizes of the dim sum are surprisingly large and the prices are surprisingly low - a beautiful combination! These folks are super quick and efficient, too, so the line moves pretty fast. Definitely worth the wait! Will be back soon at the appropriate time to try their dine in!

Walk-up window order and pick-up on 02/01/25. It was the hype on Instagram that brought me here. Apparently, it's an old-school restaurant which my Asian friends are surprised that I've never been here before. It's located in Chinatown but off the main street from where all the other restaurants are. There was a line but nothing too crazy. The inside seating looks to cater 10-20 people. *Pay attention and be ready to order because the ladies taking your order don't play.* Here's what we ordered: 1 1/2 dozen baked bbq pork buns 1.70 ea 1 dozen steamed bbq pork buns 1.20 ea 1 dozen pork dumplings 1.00 ea 2 pc egg custard 1.80 ea Total came out to 60.60 The pork buns were good. It didn't have the sweet sauciness I was looking for but they were baked and steamed to perfection. The meat filling was delicious. The baked one was my favorite between the two. When I ordered the dumplings, I was picturing actual dumplings, like the ones that look like mini croissants. They were actually what I know of them as shumai, which looks closer to a sushi roll. Overall, the food was good. The service could use a little more TLC but once you know what to expect, you get over it. 8/10. Probably would come back to try other items.

There is now a separate window for dim sum pick up orders. I went on Saturday evening and the line wrapped around the wall, and in front of the entrance. I stood there for about 30 minutes inching closer to the window where I finally placed my order for baked bbq buns and pork shu mai. They accept credit cards (visa or Mastercard only) with purchases more than $10. The baked buns were filled minimally with pork, but the shumai was pretty good. But was it worth the line? Probably not. Lol. Also note that you should always double check your orders and to ask for any utensils, chili, or napkins when you get the order.

We've been coming here for decades. This is the worst. We don't mind the place not being sparklingly clean. They used to have the best. We ordered our favorite spicy pork chops, crispy chitterlings, beef stew and house fried rice. Everything is so different in taste and too greasy. They're not what they used to be. They used to be the best, now they're the worst. We came at 11:30am. The waiters are not around. I went in front to get the menu. After 15 minutes, a waiter showed up and took our order. After we ate, I got our to go boxes coz the waiter never came back. Got the check and paid in front. Was going to get some dim sum to bring home. Since we're frustrated with our food, decided not to. This will be our last time here. It's not worth the drive anymore.

I've been coming here since I was a kid, and it hasn't changed since then. Won Kok is known for having great dim sum and pretty standard Chinese food. The portions are pretty big for the price (maybe less than $15 for a big plate of shrimp fried rice), so I'd consider it a good spot for the price, the variety of the menu, and the dim sum. Is it the most polished experience or clean inside? No, but the tables tend to be pretty clean and the food comes out quick. I recommend anything with bbq pork, the shrimp fried rice, and the chow mein. For dim sum: the bao and shu mai have been solid for years, so a definite must-order or take away if you're visiting. Also, the Egg with Bbq Pork dish is an omelette, which I was not prepared form but it had a lot of chunks of bbq pork and it was a good source of protein, so why not?

YUM! We stopped by here on a whim when our group wanted a bite before heading to LA Historic Park for a concert. We ordered at the to-go window, and the prices are hard to beat at $1/piece for the classic dim sums. The buns are a little more pricey but still very reasonable. It looks like a family run restaurant, with the grandma (or one of the elders) still helping to take orders. The reason for my low rating is because it was nothing special - the dim sum itself was mid. I have seen other reviews rave about their sweeter choices, so I may have to try those next time and see if my mind changes!

[Review #828] 2024-028 Food Order: BAKED BBQ PORK BUN (叉燒包), CHICKEN BUN (雞包), EGG CUSTARD (蛋撻), CURRY BEEF PASTRY (牛肉咖哩角) I'm a Chinatown native... 旺角 was one of the restaurants I grew up with, & enjoyed perks from my Dad knowing the owners, captains, &/or staff. The restaurant has gone by the wayside after both of my parents passing, & I haven't really been back even when I'm in my old stomping grounds. I was in Chinatown running an errand for my aunt, & stopped by my fav bakery that ran out of some of my usual dim sum, so I walked the block to Won Kok Restaurant to make-up the gap... wish I hadn't. I came by Sunday late afternoon to see a short line along New High St. I didn't see my 腸粉 on the menu, but I know they served them in the past. Nope, nada, zilch... so I order 2 of each: Baked BBQ Pork Bun, Chicken Bun, Egg Custard, & Curry Beef Pastry, & left without checking my box. How hard was it to pack this? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Since it's a small order, I didn't think it would be an issue & didn't check my order before leaving. Upon coming home, I noticed I'm missing buns & called the restaurant. The guy who answered said "靚女你想我點樣檢查" (translated as "pretty girl there's nothing I can do about it since I can't verify it"). No duh! I'm 16-mi. away & not about to drive back for a couple of dollars for a 25% error. It was a rather flippant response; pretty much expected, nothing out of the ordinary. The dim sum at this hour was cool, not even lukewarm; average taste & not very satisfying... is it the food, being shortchanged, or the lack of response to make things right? I'm not sure. I liked the curry beef, though the curry had coagulated. The egg custard's crust was flaky with a mildly sweet filling. The bbq pork bun had a decent amount of filling:bun ratio whereas the chicken's was more bun than filling. The bbq pork was on the dry side with little gravy; my husband didn't care for the chicken filling's taste. I'm not a glutton for punishment, whether it's the food or service... not likely to return for awhile. A l'il reminder to verify one's order before leaving the premises because there's no refund or any customer service to fix their mistakes. Recommended: BBQ Pork Bun, Curry Beef Pastry, Egg Custard.

Family style Chinese that has been around since 1989. It is perfect for a group but they also offer take out as well. We did the wonton soup and the broth was super clean and flavourful , a few chicken dishes and the black bean beef, all super filling and tasty. The black bean beef had just the right heat amount . Will return soon for food coma .

This is for the takeaway dim sum. Honestly not worth the wait if the line is long but the price is good. I only went because the wait was not too long. The buns were all just okay, they were pretty cold. The pineapple custard bun is probably the best thing but it was like good not amazing. The har gao and siu mai were also cold and didn't have much flavor. The bbq pork bun was too much bread. But you get what you pay for I guess. The egg tart is also just okay and cold

Service is the worst! Food is good but that older man with the black hair at the register sometimes is so rude! And the lil short older lady at the window when you buy food to go is also the most rude lady ever! Prices are good but the people helping here are so, so rude! If you're tired of us customers coming to buy here then maybe you should close down!! No need to be so rude! We the customers keep this place open and customer service should be your # priority Dear Owner!

The prices are reasonable here and food is good. The ordering process is not efficient, especially around lunch time. Came in on 7/21 to pick up dim sum before work. My pork siu mai had a piece of plastic in it.

Don't be intimidated by the long queue, just trust me. I know it wraps all the way around the building and your legs are tired, but the dim sum is so good and the value is even better. Favorites include - shu mai, chicken steamed bao, and chicken sticky rice. Hubby ofc loved his char siu bao (BBQ pork buns) too. I loved the steamed ones over the baked ones, and while the curry pastries were alright, I'd still choose the steamed buns over those pastries. Went here with my momma and got her some food to take home too! The line is pretty long, but if you want to skip it - go early. People who go here usually order a bunch, which is why the line is so crazy, but I think the food was worth the wait. We'd come back for sure.

We got take out dim sum from here and the prices were great! We got a lot of dim sum but my favorites from them are the: Shrimp dumpling (Hargow), Chicken Sticky Rice, and Fried Pork Ball! The shrimp dumpling (5/5) was super plump and the perfect bouncy bite of shrimp in its fluffy, light rice wrappers. The chicken sticky rice (5/5!!) was one of the best I've ever had! It was packed with tender meat and the sticky rice was flavored so well with its umami, sweet soy sauce. It was huge and super filling! I will be getting this again! Fried Pork Ball (5/5): The fried mochi like wrapper was a great chewy consistency and it was filled with delicious minced pork inside. It would have been better hot but we had it take out and could easily pop it in an air fryer to reheat. I would come here again to grab some quick to go dim sum!

Definitely stick with the dim sum if you come here. Our kids were hungry after a drive from San Diego, so we decided to sit inside. The interior is definitely old and not the cleanest, but I'm typically not bothered by that, especially at a Chinese restaurant. We ordered a noodle dish, orange chicken, and some veggies in addition to the dim sum. The entrees were serviceable, but I wouldn't recommend them. They were all over $15, but definitely not worth that much.

It's chinese food for the masses. Well, almost. Everything is nice and well-cooked. Slightly oily, but you don't come here to get non oily food anyway. I'd prefer the shrimp to be cleaned a little bit more, but aside from that no complaint at all. Pricing is not as cheap as your regular go-to chinese food place, but on the flipside the place is clean and comfortable.

My partner recommended this place since it appeared to be a highly rated Chinese place in area for affordable food and he was right! He got a stir fried noodles while I got a mixed vegetable with tofu and it was good for the price. We also got some buns & dim sum items to go for breakfast. Those were extremely affordable. I was surprised to see these prices in LA so I would definitely go back.

Another place I've always driven past ever since I was a kid, but did not try recently until this past weekend at CicLAvia. Wife and I just wanted to grab a quick bite and Won Kok was literally across the street from our car, so why not? Plus, dim sum being served this late is a win no matter what. Unfortuately they did not have anything else besides har gow and siu mai, but that's fine. If I recall correctly, it was 90¢ a piece which was a steal. I ate a few pieces before heading home and normally I like to dip my stuff in a little bit of soy sauce and spicy mustard (wasabi is an appropriate substitute), but I just straight up raw dogged it and it was very good. Same thing with reheating it last night - still awesome. Glad to see they're still in business. I guess it helps to go viral too. Hope to see them stick around for many years to come.

Came here for a late night takeout. Ordered the pork shu mai. They're a $ a piece including tax. They're steamed in a large container with probably a 100 in each steamer. It doesn't taste as good as ABCs but cheaper. It will just do for a late night snack.

Ordered the beef chow Mein and was appalled. I was given a mountain of bland noodles which didn't match the picture on their menu. Won Kok has definitely lost its passion for cooking and is now quantity over quality.

Dumplings are decent, not necessarily steaming hot nor abnormally flavorful. Not sure how this place rates against many other dim sum spots in the area. Although it does get very packed so they are doing something right. There is limited parking in the lot, but generally parking on the street and also paid lots on the next block. They are VERY reasonably priced. In fact every time I go I am shocked at how affordable the bill comes out to be. If you want to sit inside you cannot just order dim sum, you must order at least one plate. I had the #69 house thick noodle. It was very oily and heavy, so I would suggest ordering the thin noodles instead. Favorite: pork bun (this is a must)

The chicken steam baozi is but they work quite slow. The steamed white sugar cake and egg cake were confusing. Sweet and not really sure what I am tasting.

I had this spot bookmarked, and I'm glad I tried it out! We wanted some dimsum, and though we knew there would be a limited selection, we went for it. First, there was a small parking lot, which was definitely nice. There were a few spots there at around 10am on a Sunday. We were seated right away, but there were a few caveats: they mentioned to someone that there was a fee of $2/person for inside dining for dimsum (they have a takeout counter outside for dimsum), but it seems like that's only if you don't plan on ordering anything off their regular menu. They also weren't taking regular menu orders until 10:30am. We were planning on getting fried rice anyway, so we dined in and just ordered dimsum while waiting to order fried rice off the regular menu. The staff are usually rushing about, but we were able to just ask for chopsticks at the front, and it wasn't too long before they brought some over. They were also quick to bring over our food and to take our orders when it hit 10:30am. Now, for the food: -1 Chicken sticky rice ($3.50): while it came out barely-warm, it was pretty tasty. The sticky rice texture is sticky in the nicest way, and it's flavorful with a notable lotus leaf scent. There's minced chicken and mushroom inside. -1 baked bbq pork bun ($1.70): it was reminiscent of a plain dining roll with shredded bbq pork and onion inside. The filling was pretty moist/tasty, but the baked bun part wasn't doing it for us. It was a lot of bread... -1 steamed bbq pork bun ($1.20): pretty much the same as above, but I preferred the steamed bun - the only downside was the meat to bun ratio. It was still solid! -1 steamed chicken bun w/ sausage & egg ($2.50): I was too full to eat this, so we had to take it to-go. I'll have to update after I try it later. -5 pork shiu mai ($1 each): tasty! I can't have shrimp, so it was nice to be able to eat this shiu mai. Just a solid option - my partner did think it would be tastier with shrimp, but then I wouldn't have been able to try it. :) -2 shrimp har gow ($1.10 each): my partner seemed to like it, but the wrapper was thicker than expected. -1 fried pork ball ($1.20): better than expected! It's like a slightly sweet, but savory pork filling that reminded my partner of spare ribs, while the outside is like a deep fried rice -1 pineapple custard bun ($1.80): also had to take this to-go because we were too full.. -BBQ pork fried rice ($12): needed more soy sauce, but we could add that ourselves at the table. With that additional saltiness, it was tasty! Overall, a limited but cheaper and decent dimsum spot! While we wouldn't go out of our way to come here, we wouldn't mind coming back if we were in the area.

Worth every cent . I tell you best food ever . FYI if you're ordering sesame balls they are giant.

LA Chinatown, a must visit for me to get steamed and baked buns as well as some siomai. Waiting for a haircut, we decided to get some dim sum to go. It was just around 10:30 am and the line was already 10 deep for the to go counter. It went by quick though as there were 2 windows serving the counter. We ordered 2 dozens of siumai, 6 steamed pork buns and 6 baked pork buns. They also have baked coconut buns and sesame balls filled with red beans. They were freshly baked and steamed, the servers taking them straight from the steamers and ovens. Definitely a cheap eats as each costs less than $1. And very filling as well. One thing is that the servers are a bit curt and unfriendly. Which you just kinda gloss over as having the buns are so worth it.

I've been coming here for 20 years. I waited 15 minutes for my food not bad! I went inside to place my order, as the dim sum window line was long. I got my food and took it home to Anaheim where I live. Shrimp fried rice was good, large portion for $13, add some sweet & sour sauce to it just the way I like it. The egg rolls were ok ... I wish they had the chow mein noodles inside like they used to, instead now they use pancit noodles inside. I also ordered chicken, shrimp dumplings those were yummy too. Great prices for yummy food if you're in the area go check them out.

We were in town (from Vegas), and was craving dim sum. It's been a long time since we've been here. There was a line but we didn't have to wait too long maybe 10-15 mins and once you order, it comes out quick. When you see a line, most times it means it's the spot to go to. Luckily, there was a kind, helpful local guy behind us who answered our questions and those of other out-of-towners. Thank you. Ordered: Pork and shrimp dumplings - order hot chili oil for 25 cents - 3.5/5 rating - was good but had better, different than what I'm used to Steamed and Baked Pork Buns Jumbo Cream Bun - 3.5/5 rating - craving satisfied Red Bean Sesame Balls Egg Rolls (with noodles in it? didn't expect that) 3.5/rating - good, but prefer more veggies and no noodles Egg Custard Tarts - flaky - 3.5/5 rating -- good Rice Cake We did not order a sponge cake but found one in our take out plate. I only eat a few high carb/sweet/sugary foods in the last few years so I didn't try the other things but heard they were good. Ambiance, we didn't go inside, we stood in line outside for the take out window. It's a hole in the wall type vibe. Overall, it was good, price is good, a few cravings satisfied. I am not sure what the hype is about this place. There's always a huge line towards the street for their dimsum takeout. I came on a Friday morning and there was already a line. I had somewhat a high expectation for this place since this place is more poppin than ABC which is my regular go to spot in Chinatown. I ordered the usual Har gow and Siu Mai. Wow, to say that it was underwhelming is an understatement. The skin for both dishes were dry. The siu mai filling left much to be desired. It was just bland. They sell the dimsum at $1.10 per piece instead of the set price of ~$5 for 4 that you would see at other dimsum spots. Service was not friendly. I was given 2 soy sauce packets and 1 chili oil container for 2 boxes of dimsum. I had 6 har gow, 12 siu mais and 6 gai dai bao/ chicken buns. When I asked for additional sauce, the young worker asked an elder worker in Chinese why I am asking for more sauce when he already gave me sauce. I responded that I ordered 2 boxes of dimsum and was only provided a measly 2 packet of soy sauce and 1 chili oil. At this point, the elder worker explained that extra sauce was additional... Needless to say, I'm wouldn't recommend this place nor will I be coming back.

The most reasonably priced dim sum in all of LA! They price by the piece and at 90 cents per piece, I was able to get plenty for myself with only $15! We ate inside but the to go line seemed pretty long and we waited no time for our food to come. Overall, a great dim sum spot with the added bonus that there is a parking lot! A rare find in Chinatown

My tip: order some dim sum from the to go menu and enjoy walking through Chinatown! The actual restaurant is small and nothing fancy but its got its charm. I think the charm comes from it being a long standing dim sum spot in the area. Their dim sum is great but their entree dishes not so much the last time I was there. Service is quick and friendly! You get complimentary tea if you dine in but the best option is to just pick up some dim sum to go. Also, the food is reasonably priced and a steal compared to anything else in downtown LA.

I am reviewing based on picking up at the to go window. I love the convenience and price point of this restaurant. I wish Houston had something like this. The quality of the dumplings were great very good size and fresh taste. I know certain places you can tell when it's not fresh and may have been sitting for a while. The service is prompt I visited on a Saturday morning about 20 minutes after open time and the line wasn't bad. I did see they offer a huge menu as well and super affordable for when you're wanting that homestyle comfort Chinese meal. If I lived in LA this would be in my weekly rotation!

Everything here is so good. Try everything and anything on the menu if you ever visit. The only thing I personally didn't like was the Sesame balls, but that's only because I'm not a fan of the flavor.. friends and family members have said that they like it though. This is definitely a "to-go" type of spot. They do offer seating and have an entrance from the side, but it's not really the most appetizing place to sit and eat. The line here is usually very long, but it is definitely worth it. The prices are incredibly low as well; meaning you can get whatever you want and then some. The food itself comes out very quick and is super fresh and hot. Definitely worth a visit or two.

086/2024 Always busy here no matter what time we come. Parking is very tight with limited spaces. The dimsum bakery that is located inside the restaurant is also accessible to the public with a walk up window outside. Always a long line Food lacks flavor and service slow rather than falling in line outside walk up window.

So I saw this place on one of the Social Media apps on cheap eats. I desperately wanted to go immediately but I waited. I brought my daughter and my wife. My wife tends to change my plans so while I had planned on going to a local park and eat it on this beautiful sunny day, my wife decided we would eat inside the restaurant... at a cost of $2 per person. That wasn't too bad, especially since we got tea and chili oil and a place to sit. The prices are amazing and we got to try lots of things for a very low price. The service was a little slow getting to us but that could be because we did not order from the restaurant menu. Although there were some good items in the menu. First the bad; not a big fan of the chicken sticky rice. It was not bad but not something I would order again. Unless there is something I should have done to improve the taste. All I did was dip it into my chili oil on my plate. Which, hell makes anything taste good. Don't know if I would order the egg rolls either. Again, not bad but so many things that I would rather have on the menu. The good; the pork bun[s]. Yes buns with an S because we tried both. Daughter and wife both said steamed was better but I think it was really close but the baked bun had a really buttery texture which gave it a slight edge for me. The best; pork and shrimp dumplings. The pork Shu Mai and shrimp Har Gow is amazing. Is it possible that $0.90 Shu Mai going to taste better than $3 Shu Mai, I think so. Pieces are NOT discount dim sum, this is the real deal. Super tasty and served hot. The WINNER is baked Coconut bun. It was sooo good. Can't wait to come back. I'll take it to the park and sit in our wonderful CA winter day. You know, 82 degrees. BTW, we got lucky and only about 12 people in front of us in line when my wife convinced me to go inside. By the time we left, the line was 40 yards deep.

We were walking to Zedd at the LA Historical State Park and decided to stop by the walk-thru window for some BBQ Baked Baos which they still had plenty at night. Wait time was decent for a Friday night. Bao was ok, not much meat inside, but it wasn't flaky.

I have been coming to this restaurant since I was 6 years old (maybe younger). I've met every parking attendant since 1996. This place is a staple in my family. Every other Saturday we would come eat here and over the years this place has not changed one bit. Love the food, always brings back childhood memories. The waiters could clean up a little bit and maybe clean the tables a little bit more but the food is always clean and savory. I believe I've never seen them with anything less than an A for grade on health inspection. Parking can be tricky (be patient, it's worth the wait).

I came here a while ago to get the takeout dim sum and loved it. The prices are amazing and I loved how warm everything was. I saw all the dumplings and buns come out fresh. When I actually went (a few months later) to get dim sum and sit inside, I had a completely different experience. The waiters were rude and very slow. Not to mention our food was cold and some of our dishes were almost forgotten (we had to remind the waiter several times). I would come back for takeout, but I don't recommend sitting down for dim sum here.
