Where To Eat Lunch In Soho - London - The Infatuation

"This Egyptian falafel spot in Berwick Street Market usually has a big queue and it’s understandable considering the glorious pitta. Overfilled with three flattened falafels, fried aubergine, cubes of fried halloumi, pickles, tahini, and chilli sauce, this is a lunch for someone who’s hungry as a character trait. It’s crispy, wholesome, and so generously stuffed that you won’t need a mid-afternoon snack." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna

Wowshee Egyptian Falafel Bar - Review - Soho - London - The Infatuation

"Labelled on Google Maps as ‘Best Falafel In London’ and with a queue that suggests it might just be right, this Egyptian falafel stall in Soho's Berwick Street Market doesn’t shy away from setting expectations high. And you’ll understand why after taking a bite into Wowshee's gloriously huge pitta, which is overfilled with three flattened falafels, fried aubergine, cubes of fried halloumi, pickles, tahini, and chilli sauce. It’s crispy, wholesome grab-and-go sustenance, and so generously stuffed that you won’t need your usual mid-afternoon snack. This is a lunch for someone who’s Hungry with a capital H. The Best Falafel in London | Where to Eat Falafel in London | Eater London

"There aren’t many places in London to experience the Egyptian version of falafel, tameeya. Made with fava bean instead of chickpea, they have a more distinctively vegetal taste. These ones in the heart of Soho are quite flat, but have enough inside softness and outside crunch to merit an order. The flavour of broad beans is there, with an innovative touch coming from using dukkah as a coating, instead of the typical sesame seeds. Here, falafel arrive as part of a salad plate or inside a fairly soft pita, with Egyptian style grainy hummus, turnip and beetroot pickles, fried aubergine, lemon-pickled red cabbage, fresh tomato and lettuce, tahini sauce, chilli sauce, and the atypical but delicious additions of fried halloumi sticks and garlic mayo." - Joel Hart

5/5 - Outstanding food and service! Tried Wowshee for the first time through a £5 Too Good To Go bag (I got the classic tameya pita pocket and a salad box with a falafel). I arrived earlier than the collection time due to an unexpected change in schedule and couldn't cancel my order, but the man at the stall was incredibly kind and understanding. Even though it was too early, he let me collect my food and trusted me to pay through the app later. In the middle of a rushed day, that small act of kindness meant so much - truly rare to experience service like that. As for the food - their Egyptian falafel was absolutely delicious! So light and crispy. The pita was fresh, flavourful, and such great value. I'll definitely be back - highly recommended!

Great falafel! I'm not a huge falafel fan but I get it from time to time and this one was really good and doing something new in falafel world. Falafel is kinda boring food, not much you can do about it, it's, well, falafel, but those guys use pitta breads I usually see with kebabs. Also their sauces rock and add a little bit of zing and tons of freshness to overall taste. Maybe they kill a taste of original falafel, whatever that means, but I'm cool with that. Fresh ingredients, good money=value ratio, crispy falafel, light and tasty. Give them a go! Edit: Visited again April '25. Still great taste, consistency at it's best.

Last year, the falafel was freshly made and hot, the pita was perfectly steamed. It was so good we couldn’t stop thinking about it! But this time, it was a completely different experience. The falafel and bread were pre made and served cold, taking away all the charm. The flavor was still there, but the magic was gone. A real disappointment.
