This cozy eatery delights in Xi'an-style Chinese cuisine, especially hand-pulled noodles that pack authentic heat and flavor, all served with a friendly vibe.
"Those who frequent the food court at Jusgo Supermarket in Duluth are already familiar with Xi’an Gourmet House and the dishes representing the Shaanxi region of China, northwest of Sichuan. Two of the food court stall’s most popular hand-pulled noodle dishes are offered in Midtown: the liang pi cold skin noodles and biang biang noodles. Try the pao-mo soup, too, with steamed leavened flatbread cooked in lamb broth with slices of lamb meat. Xi’an is a Michelin-recommended spot in Midtown." - Eater Staff, Henna Bakshi
"This Michelin-recommended restaurant includes locations in Midtown and Duluth at the Jusgo’s food court. Xi’an Gourmet House focuses on dishes from the Shaanxi region of China, northwest of Sichuan. Shaanxi cuisine often incorporates Sichuan peppercorns and chilis in its dishes. Try the liang pi cold skin noodles, thick and chewy wheat noodles mixed with sliced cucumbers and sprouts and tossed in vinegar and chili oil, the whole fish with pickled peppers, or the hot and numbing dry fried beef. The pao-mo soup contains steamed leavened flatbread cooked in lamb broth with slices of lamb meat." - Michael Tran, Eater Staff
"Pork Dumplings The menu at this second location is pretty similar to the original Duluth restaurant—and not watered down for Midtown taste buds. While Xi’an is better known for their spicy cumin lamb noodle, don’t overlook the pork dumplings. They come in a hefty order of a dozen or so, and you can either get them “dry” (boiled and served with a side of dipping sauce) or in a spicy/sour noodle soup, which will clear your sinuses in a second. The dining area is small, so most people come here for takeout orders (you can get validated one-hour parking in The Mark garage). Look for the validation code on the menu board, then look for us, stuffing our faces. " - candy hom
"Cantonese or sichuan dishes may be more abundant in Atlanta, but the city isn’t limited to the two regional cuisines. Enter Xi’an Gourmet House in Midtown—a small but mighty venue with the same outstanding quality as their original (and very popular) Duluth location. Their biang biang hand-pulled noodle selection (specifically the dry spicy cumin lamb version) should get a golden noodle plaque or some kind of best-in-class designation. And if your eyes gravitate toward the “burger” part of their menu, don’t resist. They’re actually rou jia mo, and these meat-in-a-bun snacks make the perfect appetizer as you wait on your noodles to cool. Even though most people come here for takeout, Xi’an has free parking (with their menu code) and is a chill place to post up for lunch in the usually hectic Midtown." - candy hom
