The 9 Best Boba Shops In Houston

"For tapioca purists, there is Xing Fu Tang. The boba is made by hand, tossed into a warm copper pot constantly caramelizing the brown sugar, and then doled out drink-by-drink right in front of you. You might even want to order a second drink just to watch the procession of beautiful silken, bronze sugar-coated tapioca pearls again. Along with multiple versions of brown sugar milk tea—including one with milk tea-flavored soft serve we have to order every time—Xing Fu Tang also makes seasonal drinks with giant jelly boba, strawberry milk, and sparkling sodas." - gianni greene

I love Taiwan, so I really want to be supportive of all Taiwanese things. Additionally, I was very curious of the low rating of this boba tea place. Hence, I still went ahead and tried this place in spite of the low rating. However, this would be the first time that my Thai tea didn't taste like a Thai tea anymore. It tasted chocolaty (I think because of the boba), and I didn't appreciate that, because I ordered and wanted Thai tea... My son liked his mint choco boba milk. It's a cute place... ❤️Taiwan❤️

Google
Still my all-time favorite place after all these years. And 50 other bubble tea places opening up around town. You get to see everything being made from scratch including the tapioca. All high quality ingredients and the classic drink is so addicting that I've taken non-bubble tea people there and they got instantly hooked. Classic brown sugar milk tea is great, The lemon honey drink is also very refreshing, And the lychee also hit the spot last time. I also like the fortune box thing on the wall and the fun videos playing on the screen.

Google
Good drinks flavors are good and the bobas are fresh. The place is clean but you’ll have to be a customer to use the restroom.

Google
Love this place because of their boba. I always order the “Brown Sugar Boba Milk” and it is the best. I am not a boba lover because I don’t like the texture and how’s taste, but the boba here is definitely worth!!

Google
The melon is sorta frozen at the bottom, like a slush is goodness. Service from the barista,Co is amazing. I love her smile !

I’ve visited Xing Fu Tang a couple of times, and unfortunately, it hasn’t lived up to its hype. During my first visit, I tried their classic Brown Sugar Milk Tea. While the flavor was decent, it was far too sweet—even for someone like me who enjoys sweet drinks. I usually try the regular milk tea when visiting a new place, but this one was just too sugary compared to other spots. The second time, I ordered the Passion Fruit Tea, and my friend got the Sakura Tea. Neither of us were impressed. The Passion Fruit Tea didn’t look anything like the pictures, and the taste felt off—again, overly sweet. As for the Sakura Tea, it lacked flavor intensity and didn’t deliver the unique taste we were expecting. Service was another concern. Although the staff was trying their best, there was only one person making the drinks and another preparing fresh boba. Even with only a few customers, the process was slow, and it felt like the service wasn’t as efficient as it should be. While I appreciate the effort from the staff, the drinks being too sweet and the slow service have left me disappointed. I hope they make some improvements soon.

Google
Ube Milk Tea! Absolutely yummy! I lessened the sweetness and it was still pretty good! I love how the boba is made there so its extra soft and helps with the sweetness!

Google
We took a quick stop as my bf loves boba tea. I really wanted to try the soft serve, but it wasn’t allowing me the option to so I got the brown sugar milk tea with oat milk…I definitely regretted it when I tried it. It tasted just like milk with some toasted brown sugar. I’m not sure why expected it to be more flavorful. My bfs drink was the Thai tea and he really enjoyed it, it was much better than mine. For the price of the small drinks, I’ve found better places but the atmosphere is very nice. I am still glad to have tried a new place!

Yelp
Boba's always made fresh here! Service was quick with the order. Decorum was nice and trendy with wish sticks to give you your fortune (part of decorations). I got their X-Large standard brown sugar special (including tax is $9.49). Very flavorful and tasty! Would come back if I went back to Houston & was craving brown sugar boba.

Yelp
Xing Fu Tang is a popular boba spot located in a busy plaza with plenty of parking. If you're a fan of milky boba drinks, Xing Fu Tang is ... an ok choice. The boba itself is unmatched to any other boba shops but their drinks are bland/mediocre. If Xing Fu Tang sold the boba on its own--perhaps in a 4 oz cup for $4--I'd be there in a heartbeat to grab just that. Ube Brown Sugar Boba - ube flavor was subtle and the drink itself was bland. Matcha Boba Milk - While the matcha flavor was strong, it was poorly executed. The drink had a noticeable granular texture, which made it feel like the matcha wasn't fully dissolved. It's not the smooth, creamy drink you'd expect from a properly made matcha--this one left a lot to be desired. The service was friendly and helpful, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed, which made for a pleasant visit.

Yelp
4/5 for drinks 1/5 for service There's too many other boba shops in the area to excuse the bad service. Skip this place you're not missing much.

Yelp
Being that Xing Fu Tang originates from Taiwan, I was excited to try something I hoped would be close to the real deal. The drinks are beautifully presented and it's easy to be sold on ordering when the boba is freshly made in a wok and scooped right in front of you. I ordered the Brown Sugar Milk Tea, which features torched brown sugar, a little zhush compared to XFT's other brown sugar drinks. While you can adjust the sweetness and ice levels for all their beverages, I recommend sticking with full sugar for this one. I tried it with reduced sweetness, and it ended up tasting more like milk than a true brown sugar milk tea.

Huong V.

Yelp
I  was really excited to try Xing Fu Tang, but this was a huge disappointment. I ordered a large drink with double boba for $10.48, which is already way overpriced. But what made it worse? It was definitely not double boba--there was barely more than a regular amount! The drink itself was nothing special. For this price, I expected something amazing, but it was just mediocre at best. Definitely not worth it. Won't be coming back.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place but the flavor was disappointing. I got the brown sugar milk tea, and it tasted mostly like milk. The service was great and quick and there were plenty of seats.

Duyen D.

Yelp
The service was pretty quick! Only the milk tea taste is not any special and the boba were kind of bland but still a good chewy side.

Yelp
Didn't ask about nut allergies, boba places are usually fine. Order - to - Drink: 2 minutes I decided to try this shop because someone said the "boba was good". I would like to report back that this person's food opinions shall never again be trusted, because this was truly some of the most overpriced, lousy tea that I've had in this entire area of Houston. Firstly, you can't customize the sugar level because all of the sugar comes from the overly sweet brown sugar boba. The boba is overcooked, with mixed textures that vary from "okay" to "inedibly stiff". They're so sugary that they overpower any flavor of tea that might exist. The size of the drink is ridiculously small for the price ($7 before tip). They get a saving grace for speed of service (I got my drink in like, two minutes). There are so many other good options nearby. Go literally anywhere else.

Yelp
First time last year was so good this year when we came back the BOBA is super hard and the drink tasted like water.Taste like they didn't put any brown sugar in it Wasted $60....... WILL NOT BE BACK!!!!!!!!

Yelp
I'm going to say it straight This place is ELITE. SUPREME. They make THE BEST milk tea and tapioca. I never get tapioca in milk tea because it's usually so gross everywhere else. Not here! It's hot, fresh and the perfect t consistency. Is it pricey? Yes. But it is so worth it. Plus for lactose intolerant ladies like myself they offer lactaid! My favorite order is boba milk w lacatid. I've been here at least 10 times so far. Always a must visit when I go to Houston.

Yelp
I've had Xing Fu Tang before and thought it was a 5/5 but now I'm just thinking it depends on the drink. Got the Dalgona Coffee with boba and it was good until it ran out of the sugar. I wasn't able to finish the bottom of the drink and would not get it again. The portion is small, so if you do come here you should try a more classic flavor. There are many drawers on the side wall. You can draw a numbered stick and open the corresponding drawer with the number on it to read a piece of paper that has your fortune.

Yelp
If you want handmade Boba, this is the place. I feel like they are a little bit pricier, but for the quality of Boba, it makes sense. They have in person and electronic order. They have plenty of seating tables. It does get really busy so the tables aren't always clean. I really like their honey jelly and their strawberry Boba. I've had several teas from here before and they've all been great so far. Besides the handmade Boba, they have some unique teas. The one picture is osmanthus tea with honey jelly. It's a very earthy tea.

Yelp
Of the 479295892+ boba shops in Bellaire, there's always a new one every month or so. Went to Xing Fu Tang craving their brown sugar milk tea, which is what they are known for and it's their most popular item. I opted for a medium size (trying to cut on calories). The total ended up being around $7 FOR A MEDIUM, which made me reminisce the time boba was $4 before inflation :( My drink got made relatively fast and the drink itself was very underwhelming. The boba was good and the view of them serving from the giant pot was cool but there are better boba places that serve regular sizes for $7 and are of better overall quality. Don't think I will be visiting here again..one and done, unfortunately.

Yelp
Good Boba! Friendly service! Similar pricing to competitors. The boba is pulled from the warm pot right in front of you. In an area where you can find tons of well-known brands, don't let this one go overlooked.

Yelp
The first time I had Xing Fu Tang (#1) was in Asia. Whether it was sipping the pearls in Taipei or slurping away in Mongkok, Hong Kong, it was always a lovely time. When it finally came to NYC, I was among the many who lined up in Flushing to enjoy it after many years of not having it. Now that it's in Houston, I am truly stoked to have it as an option. The only caveat is that it's some of the most expensive bubble tea in the city. Up until recently, XFT was only going to be in cities where the demand for boba is great and only in certain communities. In many ways, XFT's presence legitimizes the ever-expanding Asian scene in Houston. That's a high standard that is truly no small feat. And why? Well their operation is like no other boba shop. They make all of their tapioca balls in house and they're so fresh that even I, someone who doesn't even love boba, can appreciate each time I have it. There is a designated person who is just churning brown sugar syrup and others who are dealing with some miscellaneous add on. The ingredients they use for many of their drinks are premium, and thus many newbies to the brand have experienced some level of sticker shock. Their priciest drink at $15 is the gold foil boba milk. At just over half of that is their melona strawberry milk at $8 and the rest of the drinks are in the $6.50-$7.50. The drinks are refreshing and well made, but I think given how price conscious Houstonians are, it will undoubtedly rub folks the wrong way. Overall, the service isn't much to write home about. There were crowds at the beginning but lately it's been a steady flow of folks. I do enjoy escaping the heat and just chilling on their couches and chatting with friends. I do wish everyone would play the fortune game that all XFT's are equipped with, but they need directions and to actually fill the drawers with fortune printouts. For most first timers: walk out of XFT with their signature brown sugar milk tea. It will be good, but not filling, and extremely sweet. If there's any classic drink to experience the magic that they're known for, then let that be the one. __________ (#1) Say it with me: Shing Foo Tong. 幸福堂

Yelp
Do me a favor and don't come here. Their milk teas are ok, and my wife always sends me here but I really don't want to support this place. Here are all the bad things about the place: - never pick up the phone for questions about hours/ordering - large is 1.25 extra, regular cup is more like a mini - cashier people never get my order right, sealed vs non-sealed, substituting boba for another topping without extra cost - no ice cost extra - cashier attitude when I ask them to fix my order that they didn't listen and get correctly -not even recognized as an official franchise from Taiwan I've never been to a boba place that didn't offer to fix something when they mess up (some will even remake the drink if it's not to your liking). XFT goes out of their way to make your experience miserable and argue and fight tooth and nail not to fix your drink. If it weren't for my pregnant wife's cravings I'd never step foot in this place. Please retrain your staff in customer service and abolish archaic rules that prioritize margins and profit over customer retention and satisfaction.

Yelp
what better way to top off the meal than to get a nice treat; love this cute boba cafe. there are a variety of drinks to choose from, however, there aren't many caffeine free options to choose from so keep that in mind if you're like myself and can't do caffeine. there is also an oat milk option (for a $1 up charge) if you can't do dairy. the only drink i can get on the menu is the most expensive drink, the 24k gold boba... with oat milk. not sure if there's a health benefit to the 24k gold, but its a cute topper on the drink if that counts for anything. you must stir 18 times before drinking. i will get this drink from time to time because it's soooooooooo good!!! i definitely don't mind that it comes in a small cup because i don't need that much sugar.

Yelp
I've visited multiple locations in different cities yet appreciate this one most. The service is efficient, and the space is spotless. I love their boba quality and the matcha soft serve is always a treat. Five stars for a fun stop.

Yelp
This boba establishment was super aesthetic and cute. The venue itself is fairly small so seating can be limited at peak hours. I would recommend buying it to-go and then exploring the plaza some more. The service was great with our orders being taken quickly and drinks made in a reasonable manner. They also have a fortune station, which I thought was a nice touch while waiting for our drinks to be made. It was also nice to watch how the bobaristas made the boba/tapioca pearls fresh. This was a unique feature from other establishments I have visited. I got the Brown Sugar Boba Milk and the portion was fairly small and tasted pretty standard to other establishments I have been to. It was pretty pricey and I'm not sure it was worth the money besides having the handmade boba.
google avatar

Madeline Y.

Yelp
I went for the Milk Tea Soft Serve since it was cheaper than a drink but felt like a more substantial treat. The texture was spot on, delivering a creamy and enjoyable experience. However, as I continued eating it, the flavor took a turn, and by the end, it wasn't as enjoyable. I found myself pushing through to reach the boba at the bottom of the cup. While it was an interesting try, I don't think I would choose it again on a future visit.

Yelp
Xing Fu Tang is taking the US by storm, and for good reason. I'm going to come out the gate by saying I don't actually call myself a boba fan. But, when I saw the videos and articles hyping this place up because they do it the right way - the Taiwanese, handcrafted way - I just had to come. The space is inviting with plenty of parking, so it's very easy to get to. The area is always bustling with diners and boba-shop-goers, though, which adds to the appeal. Inside, you can see the staff prepping the boba right through the glass, scooping the brown sugar tapioca into nearly every cup. They work efficiently, so you get your drink in reasonable time, despite the popularity. There's a small seating area which is great for small groups - but I'm sure it can get cramped at times. We didn't experience this, though. We ordered the classics: brown sugar boba milk, and matcha boba milk with strawberry tapioca. I got the matcha one with oat milk - and it was just delicious, I couldn't tell that the milk wasn't whole milk. The drinks were perfectly creamy, and the tapioca was the perfect texture: chewy, and full of strawberry flavor. The brown sugar drink my husband got had a much deeper, caramel sweetness that felt very indulgent. The brûléed brown sugar on top created the perfect bitterness to balance the drink. You get what you pay for here, and I think it's more than worth it. I think everyone who wants to experience good boba needs to try a handcrafted boba shop as soon as possible. And I don't think there's a better place to start than with the phenom that is Xing Fu Tang.

Yelp
I visited this Taiwanese milk tea spot, even though it doesn't have the best of reviews. Their space is highlighted by glass surrounding their work area. That only leaves about 4 tables of seating for customers. They also have a lucky drawer on the wall with fortunes, something else to play with while waiting for your order, I suppose. I ordered the brown sugar boba milk and after stirring, I really liked their take on this milk tea. Adjacent to the register is a heating device with a large wok-like bowl where they are melting brown sugar and Boba. Here, they dip the syrup out and line your cups in front of your eyes, if you're ordering their brown sugar Boba drink. It's kind of interesting. I also tried the coffee Boba and that was pretty decent as well. It's not as busy as other Boba shops, even though it's on a busy stretch by a few other popular restaurants and snack shops.

Yelp
The drink tastes are great. 5/5 Drink varieties 4/5 The service is fine. 5/5 There was no line when I arrived, so cashier assisted me immediately. The ambiance is warming and relaxing. Also, there is a psychic shelf on the wall. You pick a stick, find the number, and explore what your luck is.

Yelp
BAD BAD BAD SERVICE! Manager should be check camera, she was so attitude! The boba shop smell so bad too
google avatar

Alexis S.

Yelp
The service was super fast, my drink came out in less than 5 minutes! It's not the biggest place, but there are a few seats for people to sit and enjoy their drink. The drink wasn't my favorite, and they had limited offerings, but it was worth trying. The boba was authentic and you could see them making it which was super cool!
google avatar

Yelp
I tried to ask the lady if she can make me something new.... And she told me she couldn't which showed me she was either lazy or think I was lying about how the mint boba taste like melted ice cream. I'm from San Francisco, but occasionally in Houston Texas.... I been to the original one in Taipei, Taiwan and it's always good boba here, but for basically ordering 4 bobas within 1 hour(2x at time) I wish the boba barista could of just made me a new one smh... if you want a mint drink just go get ice cream...
google avatar

Michelle Y.

Yelp
My friend had this in NY and said all the good things so I decided to give it a try and see what the hype was all about. The drink was nothing close to what I was imagining, maybe because I watched the lady pour a whole cup of milk and just added a little coffee whip on top. According to my friend there was supposed to be more of the coffee whip so to me it just tasted like milk rather than coffee milk. Don't get me wrong the coffee whip was really good but they didn't add the correct amount. A little strange but they weigh their bobas for each drink, so that will take extra time than needed to make their drinks. The decor was really cute and they had a little fortune teller thing on the wall. There weren't any papers in any of the slots but it would've been cool for my kiddos to do. Service was just ok. The doors were unlocked so we walked in without knowing if they're opened or not and after a good few minutes of us looking at the menu someone came out and said they're not opened yet and we need to step out (didn't even apologize), this was probably ~10 mins. Later we went back right a few mins before 11 and saw 2 tables were occupied already by customers but they weren't kicked out. For those that can't handle dairy they do offer oat milk and lactaid. Also, if it matters to you they use organic whole milk in their drinks.
google avatar

Kristy T.

Yelp
This place makes the best brown sugar milk tea! You can tell that they make everything fresh, especially the tapioca pearls they make right in front of you!
google avatar

Isabelle B.

Yelp
Let me say I have never had soft serve boba and I have been missing out! The soft serve with the fresh tapioca was just perfect! The texture of the tapioca was so smooth with the right amount of chewiness and sweetness. Hands down best tapioca I've ever had! The milk tea taste itself wasn't too sweet and felt balanced. The brown sugar milk tea was amazing as well with it having a toasted sugar on the foam and tasting exactly what I want when I think of brown sugar! Not overly sweet I'll say though! The green tea was a bit bitter for me at first but as I kept drinking it I loved it more and more! Now the actual inside of the place was very small and cute. The service it self was very fast and kind.

Yelp
Haven't seen many reviews about the hollow ice cream. They were nice but the ice cream was very hollow....
google avatar

Ye J.

Yelp
Located in the Dun Huang Plaza in Chinatown, plenty of parking available. Known for its freshly made boba, the quality of boba is probably the best in Houston. However this place is pretty overpriced. The regular size drink (which seems be the equivalent of small elsewhere) will come out $7, large is $1 more. Aside from the good boba, the drinks tastes mediocre. We ordered the boba milk tea and grapefruit green tea, the milk tea tasted very milky but not much of tea flavor, and the grapefruit green tea tasted very artificial, extremely SWEET and no grapefruit flavor.
google avatar

Tracy H.

Yelp
One of the best tasting boba I have ever tasted. It's so chewy and delightful and I've had a lot haha. The service was pretty good but a lot of misunderstandings and I felt like I kinda annoyed her with my questions. Oops. I really like the layout of the shop. It's really clean and it's so cool to see the wok out with the fresh boba. I do appreciate that I'm able to see how they prepare my drink.
google avatar

Maria E.

Yelp
I'm usually pretty easy to please when it comes to boba but XFT left me a bit disappointed. First of all, their menu is rather small and leans toward pre-made selections. In fact, my fiancé tried to ask for a different boba with his matcha drink but they told him it came with strawberry boba and he couldn't customize it. As far as the drinks go, I didn't love mine. I ordered the melon strawberry banana milk. I tried to ask for 50% sugar but they told me that they don't add extra sugar to that one. When I received it, it tasted overwhelmingly sweet, too sweet for me. I do appreciate that they have different boba flavors: strawberry, mango, taro. I was looking forward to seeing the boba being made (they do it in the front) but it honestly sounded more exciting in theory. It was just a worker stirring a large bowl of boba. Maybe you have to arrive at the right time to see a different step but I still have no idea how boba is made, haha. They have a cute wall of fortune lockers. You pick a stick with a number and open the corresponding locker. Unfortunately, most were empty and we had to continue choosing sticks until we found a locker with a fortune. I noticed several other Yelpers complaint about this. It's a really fun idea but if most of the lockers are empty, it just ends up being frustrating and counterproductive. There are so many boba spots in Chinatown -- I'd honestly skip this one.
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
I'm so sad. I loved this place in NYC but here it was not good. As soon as I walked in I knew it wouldn't be good (no smell of boba being made fresh) but I wanted to try it anyway. We also came around lunch time so I figured they were slow. They didn't have the flavor I wanted (Boba Cocoa) so I ordered chrysanthemum tea with honey jelly. It was okay, nothing too special. I was just disappointed because I really wanted to try this when I was going to Houston.
google avatar

Schuyler S.

Yelp
I haven't had boba since high school. But a friend brought us to this cool spot that took me back! They're make the boba in a giant wok right in front of you. It's always exciting watching your stuff get made right behind a clear wall. Adds some spectacle to it and you don't mind waiting in line. Lots of options to customize your drink. You can order "half sugar" if you don't want a full blast of it.
google avatar

Lou C.

Yelp
So, you know. Xing Fu Tang 幸福堂 serves milk tea with freshly made boba right in front of my eyes. I feel very fortunate to have such unique dessert restaurant in Chinatown. Long line didn't catch my curiosity but the pile of previously enjoyed cups on the trash can did. What in the world are they doing? Most people put unfinished cups on top of trash can. When I walked in, the sounding of cheering from the customers in front of fortune box. Oh, I forgot to mention Xin Fu 幸福 means fortune in Chinese. My sister wanted Milk Tea with Boba with no ice, 50 cents extra was pretty reasonable. I ordered HOT Milk Tea with Boba, 50 cents were underpriced. Because the amount of time to heat up the milk tea requires a froth machine by a special person. It took a while to my drink. But, hey, it was really worth of the wait. After my recent experiment with boba in hot ginger tea at Feng Cha, I was quite confident this HOT Milk Tea with Boba would be more delicious because of the freshly made boba.
google avatar

Juliana C.

Yelp
Just okay. Service was slow on a Tuesday afternoon, only one staff working. She was the only person taking orders and making drinks. The boba balls today was a miss, some were perfect soft and chewy and some were hard. Drink are more expensive compared to other stores. A regular with boba cost about $7+. There are little fortune sticks with number you can draw while waiting for your order but more than half of the fortunes in the boxes are empty :(
google avatar

Patty C.

Yelp
Fresh made boba? Yes please! Amongst the countless other boba tea places, this place stands unique in the fact that they make their own boba and let it soak with warm melted brown sugar. If you're a big fan of boba, you won't be disappointed in the quality of theirs. It is the star of the show, possessing the perfect springy "Q" texture I enjoyed very much. Their brown sugar milk and milk tea seem to be their signature drink, and so I went with the milk tea one in the regular size. I wasn't able to adjust the sugar level since the boba and brown sugar are already mixed together. I chose the option of less ice, because I don't want leftover ice. The drink was nice and sweet. The boba was plentiful, though I think the amount given would work better with the larger size. The cups are wide and short compared to other places. The price is more expensive than most places. There's only three tables available for seating, so there's a high chance you will need to take the drink to go. I would definitely return to try the Melona flavor!

Yelp
Fit for royalty, so call it KING FU TANG Other Bobas never seem to have that ZING FU TANG Friends ask for Boba, I always BRING FU TANG Great service, great drinks, right here, XING FU TANG I don't love your mother, it was just a FLING FU TANG I don't love your father, cause he's just to CLING-Y FU TANG I love lots of different Boba, guess I SWING FU TANG But if you want some Boba I say come to XING FU TANG If you can't spell Drink then come enjoy a DRING FU TANG If a girl climbs out the TV you just watched the RING FU TANG If you prefer Szechuan Chicken, get some CHONGQING FU TANG But if you want some fresh made Boba, try XING FU TANG If you're from near Buffalo then go to WING FU TANG If I'm in the bathroom when you order, I might SING FU TANG If you're in the bathroom with too, I'll show my THING FU TANG But if you want a perfect Boba go to XING FU TANG WHAT I first discovered this chain when I was in Toronto. I tried several locations there and they were wonderful. This is not cheap boba, and it's gimmick boba, but it's also magnificent in many ways. For example, the tapioca itself, fresh made before your eyes and soaked in a massive vat of brown sugar, is warm and gooey and tasty and special. Their milk teas are good, their lemon/lime drinks can be excellent (especially in Canada), and at this particular location, they have wonderful friendly service, especially from our BFF Caroline (sorry if I spelled your name wrong), who is one of my fave boba employees anywhere and has a heart of gold. We usually get the milk tea with boba, or any of their fruit or specialty drinks, but not the gold foil drink (who wants to pay $15 for a boba and why are people eating gold). The main put-off about XFT are the prices, and the milk teas are definitely different, a little more premade-tasting than I'm used to, but the drinks are still great, and well worth trying. I do wish they would charge slightly less for boba, and that corporate (in Taiwan) and the US version (HQ in NYC) would get on the same page instead of endlessly litigating and suing and battling embarrassingly (I don't think anyone is completely in the right in this regard), and I tend to side with the US because the Taiwan base has done this same battle with Malaysia in the past, and it shows a pattern of behaviour from them which is terrible for the brand. For me, Canada has it right and is doing a hell of a job with its drinks and locations. Houston is thrilled to have a Xing Fu Tang, and the lovely service and tasty, unique drinks add a lot to one of the best boba scenes in North America. We'll be coming back regularly, especially as long as Caroline is here. Now for more rapping. I used to have a lot of lovers, when I XING FU SWANG And meet a lot of girls, when I toured and XING FU SANG And when I got naked, they'd say XING FU, DANG These days I drink Boba with Barbi at XING FU TANG It's a lovely cafe and a cute place to XING FU HANG When I come with Barbi all the guys get XING FU SPRANG Makes them all aggressive, like they show their XING FU FANG We just sit and sip the tea here at XING FU TANG Boba das wut I like yo, I'm using XING FU SLANG If Feng Cha is "Yin", here you'll find some XING FU YANG Up in North Korea, they call it XING FU PYONGYANG Here in Houston, we just call it yummy XING FU TANG We can drive for Boba here, in my XING FU MUSTANG Afterwards we'll go back to my place and XING FU BANG You'll keep coming back, like a XING FU BOOMERANG You'll get so dehydrated you'll need a XING FU TANG WHAT

Yelp
I decided to grab a drink after dinner after seeing good review to try out this place. The tea was very blend and not flavorful. I had the jasmine green tea with honey comb and it didn't have honey comb in it. I also had the rose tea that tasted plain with a hint of rose. The service was slow but we eventually got our drinks.

Yelp
Never had tried boba ice cream before this, so this was a new try. Flavor was plain milk tea, so kind of bland. The boba was at the bottom and the ice cream in the middle was hollow. It was a bit hard to reach the boba and took kind of a while with how much ice cream was given. Would be cooler if they could layer it somehow. It was definitely nice to try and was good!...just not sure if I'd get it again

Yelp
Ok so the Boba here is 5 stars!! Everything else is kinda just ok or tolerable. But the Boba.... You watch them make from scratch right in front of you and the product is unmatched. They are soft and chewy with out sticking to your teeth or being overly sweet. This is what I imagine authentic boba to be, can't say for sure, but they are so great at this aspect of the drink. Aside from that, the parking is miserable, to be expected from this location. The selection and customization available are not what I've come to expect from Milk Teahouses state side. There's not really any room to sit and enjoy when this place is busy, and I assume they stay busy. And the popular drinks are premixed sadly. I understand that it makes sense to do that but it kinda feels wrong based on all previous experience with Milk Tea. I want to give this place a higher rating, but nothing here impressed me besides the the Boba.

Yelp
I was excited to try Xing Fu as I'd never had fresh made boba before! I've tried both the matcha boba milk and the brown sugar boba milk teas. I enjoyed the matcha boba milk much more; the strawberry boba was unique and yummy! I was not a fan of the brown sugar boba. It tasted just like milk without any brown sugar or tea, and I would not get it again. There's not as wide of a selection of drinks as some other boba places, but most of the standard ones are there. The interior smells warm and inviting. The line moves decently fast, but there's not too much seating available. It's located in Dun Huang Plaza which is always super busy. I'd suggest parking in the garage by Great Wall Supermarket if you can't find a spot near the restaurant.

Yelp
If you LOVE brown sugar + soft chewy boba, then this place is for you! Personally, it's way too sweet for me and it's a little bit more than what I want to pay for boba drinks. My son tried their mango bunny slush .... yeah, no. It was a mango slush that had strawberry boba and a jelly bunny as a topping. I can't even comment on it. I thought I could finish it for him, but we ended up tossing it in the trash less than halfway through.

Yelp
My favorite bubble tea place in Houston! I'm from SA and this is a place I always have to go to when in Houston. Their fresh warm boba is delicious and their other drinks are great too!

Yelp
I'm really picky when it comes to tapioca pearls. At most places they're hard and unpleasant, but this is one of the two places I'll get boba balls. I used to come here 3 times a week at one point for the dalgona coffee boba milk. They make the boba balls right by the cashier so you can watch while you order and wait for your drink. Most times their boba is soft and chewy. But depending on when you go there's always a chance you might get boba that's been sitting there a while.

Yelp
I remember when this place opened and the line for boba was super long. The reviews though, never lie and tell a different story. I got the dalgona coffee boba milk. The dalgona was okay, nothing special. The boba was chewy, but it didn't really have any taste. No sweetness at all really. I expected way more, given the fact that they make their boba in house right in front of you. Lastly, the prices for these drinks are super overpriced. I got the small and was only able to get about 5 or so sips out of it before I reached pure ice. Xing Fu tang is just over hyped. Maybe their original location is good, but this one definitely does not live up to the name. I'd recommend any of the other boba places before this one. I will say though that I liked them having the open style kitchen for customers to see the boba and their drinks being made. Not many places have this.

Yelp
Their signature drink and boba is very ok. If you're drawn to this shop because of the wok boba, do not be. I found the drink underwhelming and even not that sweet. It just tasted slightly sugary milk.

Yelp
We got a soft serve milk tea ice cream that was skinny and leaning like the leaning tower of Pisa. It was so tipsy that it actually fell over on the table when we slid it. It's not very sweet and everyone was ordering it. I'm not sure if they just wanted to try it like me or if they were back because they like it. The mint choco drink was watery on top and full of ice. The straw wasn't big enough to sip up the boba. And all the ice made it hard to use a spoon to get the boba out. The cashier was nice. But: They had no change. They had no napkins (they gave me toilet paper when I asked). And they had no receipts (machine broken). Idk. $15 for a regular boba drink and soft serve. And all that. It just seems wrong no matter how tasty it is. Parking garage is the way to go if you can't find a spot driving there. Don't bother circling. Just hit the garage. It's free.
