"The recently opened outlet in Dun Huang Plaza, Houston, is specifically named in the company’s notice as an unauthorized location allegedly set up after the parent firm terminated its U.S. master franchise agreement. The company alleges these stores have been making trademarked items — notably the Brown Sugar Boba Milk and other signature boba drinks — using raw materials sourced from unapproved or unknown suppliers, which it says infringes on its trademark and quality controls. The dispute over authorization and ingredient sourcing has not, as of the report, resulted in court action, and the U.S. franchisor’s CEO disputes the claims." - Brittanie Shey
