"The Cedar Park restaurant’s menu focuses on Nepalese and Indian cuisines, offering dishes such as momos, chow mein, tandoori, dal (lentil stew), and biryanis. Takeout orders can be placed online; there are indoor dine-in services." - Nadia Chaudhury

If you like Indian food, the Nepalese cuisine here is absolutely NEXT level. Top marks so far go to: Sadheko Momo Nepalese Khana Set (awesome sample of the Nepalese food, ask for lamb or chicken) Chicken shahi korma (this dish will steal your heart) Bread basket (this is 100% worth breaking your diet plans!) Mango lassi (delicious cold smoothie type drink, helps with spice or is a perfect liquid dessert) We were incredibly fortunate to have a dine-in experience on 7/13, but YNY has had a hard time finding servers, so they are often staff-limited to carry-out only. You will miss out on the kind service, relaxed atmosphere, and food presentation if ordering out. If you’re in a very small group, knock on the door during business hours and ask politely if you can dine-in. There’s a chance they’ll set up a table just for you if they’re not too busy. Overall, a fantastic find if you’re in the Cedar Park or NW Austin area. Highly recommend.

***Jhol Momo and Sadheko Momo*** I wish I could give zero stars for this food. I was craving momos, so I decided to give Yak N Yeti a try through Uber Eats. The moment we opened the packaging, a stale smell hit us, but I decided to try them anyway. The taste was pathetic and stale—absolutely disgusting. I have never had such terrible momos in my life. I immediately had stomach pain and vomited after an hour. It felt like I paid $35 to make myself sick. I would not recommend this to anyone. If you still want to give it a chance, do so at your own risk.

Food was excellent and was prepared fresh. The owner was very friendly and polite. Recommend the Momos. Take out would be ideal but if you even decide to go have a relaxing at home feeling, this would be a good place.

Google
I had the true taste of Nepali food , Momo chat was the best and never had it before. Food was delicious and super hot. They can customise the spice level as needed and gives us the feel of street food.

Google
Good Indian dishes, not sure about Himalayan dishes as that is my first time. Too bad they do takeout only. Loved their mango lassy and Malay kofta, nice slightly sweet butter chicken. Definitely will order again.

I have eaten in this restaurant a few times and had many Uber deliveries as well. The quality of the food is outstanding. The owners and staff are incredibly warm & welcoming, laid-back, and genuine. A taste of real Nepal. And there is not a lot of really high-quality Indian/Nepalese food in the Cedar Park area in my opinion. You can always find some thing for a quick curry fix, but nothing compares to the quality of the food here. The flavors are extremely authentic and they use high-quality ingredients. The portions are fair and as is often the case with this food, you fill up faster than you think you might. I have probably tried half the dishes on the menu, and every single one was perfectly done in my opinion. Overall, while more expensive than other Indian restaurants in the area, the food is so incredibly delicious and fresh that I am prepared to pay more for the consistent quality and authenticity.

Google
We accidentally found this restaurant because we were in the area doing something else. Wow! What a find! The food was fresh, delicious and incredibly flavorful. We had several small dishes to try several things plus the garlic naan bread. The bread was light and flaky; the perfect combination of crunchy and soft. The jumbo tandoori shrimp, samosas and chicken momos were awesome! You owe it to yourself to give this Nepalese/Indian cuisine a try! This is a family operation. The man we talked with was very gracious and kind and explained that sometimes they have to only do takeout due to staff shortages. This is not food just anyone can make. Please call ahead to check if the dining room is open. We will be back to keep working through the menu!!!

No Lunch Buffet any more. Google needs to update search results. Most tables were not in service with chairs on tables. Food was fresh and hot and tasty. Staff was friendly and good service. Thali seems a bit expensive based on what is given. (No roti or dessert or raita, just rice, dal and 2 cups of curry )- very tasty but leaving hungry :)

Yelp
Yak N Yeti is our favorite place to order from. Uber Eats should just automatically open up to Yak N Yeti at this point. Appetizers and sides: We adore their Sadheko Momo and the Jhol Momo (both in Medium heat unless the kiddo is home from college - then the Jhol comes in mild). Gobi Manchurian is a favorite of mine - I'll eat the leftovers straight out of the fridge. Fortunately for me, nobody else in the house likes cauliflower. The paratha is my favorites thing, the naan is also good. Especially if you're looking for less Americanized naan (thinner, less doughy/pillowy). The raita is not like something you buy at HEB - it's like somebody's Aunty whipped it up this morning. Since I can't eat legumes (sadface), I cannot speak to the quality or flavor of their lentils or chickpeas. Mains: The biryani is soooooooooo good! We get either lamb or goat, but the chicken is also delicious (it's just that if I have a goat or lamb option, I'm going goat or lamb LOL). If you like the saucy spinach varietals, you can't go wrong here - Palak Paneer and Chicken Saag are delicious. Personally, I've not been a fan of their shrimp options - there have been two occasions where a dish that was supposed to have prawns/jumbos were swapped out with small shrimp and it was awful. The Rogan Josh were good as was the Lamb Pasanda. Final rec is the chicken curry - tasted just like my neighbor's. So from your friendly local culinarily adventurous American, if you can handle a little spice I highly recommend Yak n Yeti.

Yelp
Momo (vegetable) - pretty tasty, kind of reminded me of a samosa but in dumpling wrapper. I think I prefer a classic Asian dumpling over the momo flavor, though. Garlic Naan - Good naan, on the thinner side of naans, so you get a bit more crisp rather than a doughiness. Fish Curry - Pretty good overall, pretty heavy on the curry/sauce side of things, so make sure you have extra naan to soak up all the flavor. Chicken Sekuwa - Grilled chicken, excellent flavor, with a little bit of a spicy kick at the end. Palak Paneer - standard spinach dish, if you love this type of dish, then you will love it here

Yelp
So many positive reviews but food was a bit disappointing honestly. Ordered for lunch today and was pretty lackluster. The shop itself is in the middle of a strip mall but it's take out only. Food comes out pretty quick though and it's plenty hot by the time I got home but pretty average by the Indian food I've had in Austin area. The butter chicken is definitely rich but the chicken was noticeably overcooked and dry? I know it's swimming in tomato curry but texturally that was weird. The naan is also borderline crispy, which is not what I'm looking for - I want soft pillowy clouds. Rice was fine. Maybe the Nepalese side of the menu is better?

Yelp
We are a momo loving family, and were eager to find our go-to Nepalese restaurant in the Cedar Park area. Yak n Yeti offers decent Nepalese food - not the best I've had - but decent and consistent in quality and taste. They also do not offer a dine-in experience; they are a takeout only establishment. However they do have convenient curbside pickup service and are available on most delivery apps to order in. I'd rate their chicken momos a 4/5, flavorful but docking one star because they're a bit on the oily side. The chow mein noodles are a hit for my daughter - very kid friendly. Their malai kofta is quite good - at times, the kofta can be a bit tough/overcooked but the gravy is consistently tasty. My husband really enjoys their special goat curry and goat biryani - spicy and authentic. I did not enjoy their Nepalese Khana Set. I would recommend sticking to momos, indo-Chinese, and traditional dishes.

Brian M.

Yelp
Want a taste of something more exotic than your standard Indian fare? Try out Yak N Yeti for some Nepalese cuisine! I had never tried Momo before and was blown away by their Sadheko Momo. They're a beautifully delicious blend of spices with just enough of a gradual burn to get the adrenaline going a bit. Their Biryani is excellent as well, and the fried rice is good enough that I often get it as an entree when I'm feeling a bit more frugal. Don't forget dessert as well, the Lal Mohan (spiced fried balls in rose and cinnamon syrup) is like riding a wave of sweet and savory. The only drawback I've seen (hence the 4 stars) is that Aloo Cauli tends to be very watery when ordered for delivery.

Shradha A.

Yelp
The Indian Chinese food was absolutely delicious - chow mein, fried rice, chili paneer and gobi manchurian. Flavorful and authentic! The veg biryani was way too spicy for us.

Sara S.

Yelp
We are obsessed with yak n yeti. Their food is amazing, so authentic and full of depth and flavor. Our go to is the butter chicken - it's to die for. Their momos are AMAZING, we've pretty much had all of the options. We also tried their chicken curry which was great. The naan and roti is amazing. It's always come well made and full of flavor and timely. Inside is a little chaotic but worth it! Our order did take extra long to come out as it seems there was only one person really doing it all but it ended up being worth the extra hour wait. My favorite place around!!

Pathik P.

Yelp
Great family owned business! Quick service & tasty food! Offered the convenient dine in experience, they serve food on Togo boxes so, it makes so much easier if you can't finish it up! Enjoyed the time with Family there & yes Best Chilli MOMO so far!

Priya J.

Yelp
Our go-to place for a decent (tasty , not too spicy , good rice to meat ratio , decent-priced) biriyani . Their chicken and lamb biriyani are good. Paratha is fluffy . Tandoori mix grill options are good and have good quantity. Staff is nice , order is ready on time ! It's a good simple place to hangout with friends , never seen it crowded ! Yelp
I have been pleased with the many times I've ordered food to go from here. It has an abundance of flavor and spice.

Bryan B.

Yelp
Second time eating here. Great diverse menu of delicious dishes. It's hard to find goat on any menu and they have it here. If you like spicy food the Chicken 65 and Manchurian chicken are the ticket! Today we had the Lamb Pasanda (Korma Sauce) which was so good we used our Naan bread to get every last bit of the sauce. If I could I would have licked to bowl clean it was that good!!! Next visit we're trying the Goat.

CaveatEmptor E.

Yelp
We were very disappointed with the food at this restaurant. We ordered the steamed momo, samosas, chicken tikka masala, and the mixed grill. All the meats and even the tofu in the mixed grill were extremely dry. The momo (dumplings) looked and tasted like they came from a frozen food section of a store. We should have left when we noticed there wasn't much of a crowd during a weekend night and all the dishes were served on paper plates, styrofoam cups, and plastics utensils. Yuck N (your) Belly.

Laura C.

Yelp
Love the vegan options!! Food is so yummy! Love this place. Friendly people. Highly recommend.

Anuja D.

Yelp
As a Nepalese myself, I had no doubt that the menu would blow me away. This place is authentic, delicious and reminds me of home. The steamed chicken momo with chutney was absolutely perfect. Can't wait to try more things from the menu

Ashley M.

Yelp
I had the goat curry (medium spice) it was soooo delicious and flavorful. The goat was so tender and juicy!! I also ordered the tandoori chicken which they gave plenty of; but it was a tad bit dry and had a lot of burnt (instead of the char that I'm use too. It was close to closing so I'm not tripping.

Salimah C.

Yelp
Got the chicken biryani and butter chicken--everything was sooo delicious! Will be back and definitely recommend! Service was great too!

Bianca A.

Yelp
I'm brand new to Nepali food and the meal I had here with my partner is the best tasting meal I've had in Cedar Park in the 3 years I've been here. We asked our perfectly attentive server (Sudeep?) what the house specialties were and what his favorites were and took all his recommendations- I wish I'd made note of it, but just ask your server for their favorites and you won't go wrong. It's casual dining, so served on disposables, in case that matters to you- we didn't care. I look forward to returning again and again to eat my way through the rest of the menu.

Martha V.

Yelp
You get 9 small pieces of diced chicken in the $16 order of chicken tikka masala. That's not even an entire chicken breast. I called before ordering to ask how many people it would feed and he said it was a 16oz container and it could feed 2 people. We ordered it along with another dish and garlic naan. The flavor is good, a little salty, but 9 pieces of chopped chicken barely feeds one person and is definitely not worth $16. I did call them to make sure this wasn't a fluke before posting this review. I asked him if 9 pieces of chicken was normal for this order and he confirmed it was.

marc s.

Yelp
Food is amazing. Ambiance is spartan. If they up their decor this place would be incredible.

Michelle W.

Yelp
Mitho! Delicious. We made plans to try this spot out and my sis joined us with her daughter. We love Nepalese food so we were excited. The lunch buffet smelled good. Its awesome that they offer a buffet on the weekend. They will bring the butter naan out in a basket and you can help yourself to the buffet. They have a menu if you prefer to order from it. I picked up a little of everything. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Everything was really good and full of flavor. The chicken tandoori and chicken dish next to it were my favorites. I can't remember what the chicken dish was, but I want to say it was chicken kadai. It had very tender pieces of chicken and bell peppers. So good! My second plate was just chicken tandoori and the chicken kadai. I would definitely want to go back for those two items. I hope they don't change up their buffet menu since those two items were my fav. I'm sure I can just order it from the menu the next time if they don't have it. Everyone enjoyed their dishes so much that we all ordered items to go. Service was great. Parking was easy in this shopping center. Try their buffet out especially if you have never had Nepalese food so you can get a feel for what you may like.

Kevin O.

Yelp
This was the second time we tried this restaurant. Unfortunately, the food is poorly prepared on both times we have ordered food. The chicken Tika Masala was completely over spiced and had enough salt to kill a horse. Save your palate for a better restaurant. I have no idea how this place got such high ratings??

Nancy P.

Yelp
Finally got to try this new restaurant out. It is a family owned business. A young couple with their adorable daughter. I arrived shortly after 11AM for the buffet. They were still loading the buffet so I waited a minute or two. My apologies I didn't get pictures at the buffet. They had mixed greens for salad, vegetable pakora, tandoori chicken, curry chicken, curry lamb, chicken tikka masala, a rice dish, lentils, chickpeas, a cabbage dish and ending with rice pudding. It was all very good. Watch out the cabbage is spicy. The naan oven wasn't working that day so the chef whipped up a paratha as a replacement. I was able to talk to the chef on how to make the tamarind sauce. It's safe to say, I'll continue buying it at the store. Since this is close, convenient and inexpensive, I'll be back

Deviprasad P.

Yelp
Having buffet with vegetarian and non-vegetarian on the weekends will have options for customers to taste.

Allison R.

Yelp
Im obsessed with this place. I've tried several places and Yak N yeti is the only place I order from on Uber eats. I order it for a weekly work lunch treat! Butter chicken is fab! I get spicy and its the perfect spice/sweet Samosas are must and the dipping sauces for them is delicious Garlic naan and Basmati rice of course also necessary!

Brittany B.

Yelp
I'm low-key obsessed with Yak N Yeti. I live in Round Rock and still make the drive or pay for delivery from here, just because it's the best. I get a hunger craving for this place that can ONLY be satisfied here. I always order the Medium Spice butter chicken, the garlic naan, and I've been trying different appetizers. I've found that if you order an extra side of Basmati rice, I have enough food to last me two meals. My favorite appetizer thus far is the Chicken Momo. Keep up the good work Yak N Yeti :)

Divya C.

Yelp
Went here for a birthday dinner pre Covid and was truly delighted by their authentic flavors! Favorite place for jhol momos(read spicy), saag and bread basket!!! For someone who doesn't like or enjoy spicy foods, this was and still is an amazing treat once in a while.

Shannon S.

Yelp
Absolutely my go to place when I'm craving something I don't have to cook! Anything and everything is so delicious!!

Julie R.

Yelp
We had a wonderful meal here. The Samosas were awesome, so was the biryani and the chicken tiki. We enjoyed every minute of it. The service was great, but they might need a little help out front. And the ambience was just beautiful. Really enjoyed it. Really recommend it very local very economical, very good food!

Ali K.

Yelp
Needed an Indian/Desi lunch on Thanksgiving day and Yak n Yeti came thru. Solid all around, dishes seemed to be made to order, even the curry. Had the samosas, chicken pakora, chicken 65, chicken tikka, saag paneer, goat Rogan Josh, momos, and boti kabob. Highlights: samosa(great cilantro chutney), chicken tikka(surprisingly juicy), goat Rogan Josh. Boti was not surprisingly dry but still flavorful. Saag was respectable too. Probably skip the pakora and chicken 65 or pick one vs both. Decent rice too. Great service. Bathroom wasn't immaculate but not horrible. I'd go back for sure.

B P.

Yelp
Had the Momo chili and chicken manchurian (spicy!). Incredible food from a lover of spicy Korean!

Marion C.

Yelp
I find most of the dishes we have had to be too oily and heavy compare to the many Indian/Himalayan restaurants I've tried. Also as they seem to be only take out a lot of the items (specifically the naan and anything fried) end up being super soggy because they definitely pack the food right away). We've been here a few times and consistently get the same quality- not bad but I don't ever crave it. If you haven't had excellent quality, home cooked Indian cuisine, or have been to india and sampled food from their many regions, you may like this place a lot, just not for me as often as I would love to have Indian food again.

Naruby S.

Yelp
Indian takeout place in Leander found! I love the flavors from Yak N Yeti. We've ordered the butter chicken and chicken tikka masala and both were delicious. Also, they don't have chicken vindaloo listed on their menu, but I called to see if they could make this for my husband (his go to Indian dish) and they agreed and it was also delicious. Their naan is thin, crispy around the edges and so fresh! The samosas are very good too. I've liked EVERYTHING we've ordered and can't wait to try more of their dishes...although it's going to be a challenge because I'm addicted to their butter chicken!

Amy R.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem. The hubs and I wanted something different on an impromptu date night. We found this place and were delighted. The waitstaff is patient, knowledgeable, and kind. The food...WOWZA!!! It was so good we ordered takeaway for the next day too. You have to try it.

Jessica M.

Yelp
I just tried this restaurant 2 days ago and I'm already excited to go back. This is the best Indian food I've had in Austin yet! The sauces are all incredible and the tikka masala was on point. Although the ambiance and building is very unassuming and looks more like a "hole in the wall," do not let that prevent you from trying the food. Everything I had was delicious! I also appreciate that they clearly indicate which menu items are gluten free since I eat a gluten free diet.

Judy H.

Yelp
The food is really good. We especially like their nans. My husband really likes their boneless tandoori chicken. They still only do take out...otherwise I'd give 5 stars.

Tim C.

Yelp
My wifey and I really enjoyed the lunch buffet and visiting with the nice young man that waited on us. They had 7 silver trays filled with 2 different trays of Goodies from Nepal and India in each one, the seventh one had two desserts, one was kheer done very well and a fruit filled yogurt dish. Since i'm an overachiever ( meaning my eyes are bigger than my belly), I got some of everything, i'm still not sure what was my fave. Another nice touch was bringing freshly baked nan to our table, most buffets have a tray on the line and freshly baked is way better. I'm posting a plethora of pics. Great food and service, we'll be back for more.

Bonnie W.

Yelp
Woooo child. This place is (I'm going to use old folks terms) the "bomb dot com!!" We just picked up food and raced home to eat it while it was hot. To say it's one of the best Indian places where we have eaten is an understatement. As usual, we ordered multiple dishes to try: chicken sekuua (yuuuum); mixed grill (that was my husband's and I didn't hear him talking much until he was full and happy); sadheko chicken Momo (I loved these, Mark didn't - more for me); chef special goat (lord have mercy can someone please stop me from overeating); tandoori jumbo shrimp (Mark said they were over cooked - again more for me. I was eating those before they made it to the table); butter AND garlic naan (when will I realize one naan is enough for two people). Needless to say I'll have lunch already prepared for the next two days. My only complaint was self- inflicted. My lovely newly done nail job is now curry YELLOW. My husband said that's what the naan is for, and I should stop eating with my hands. I have NO idea what he's talking about!! I would take more pictures of the food but alas, it's been mostly DEMOLISHED. Oh yeah nice healthy portions so my only suggestion is only order two items for two people. Obviously - we WILL be back!!

Amanda W.

Yelp
Yak n yeti is your classic hole in the wall located in a quaint shopping center on buttercup creek. If you can get over the tacky school portable flickering lights and ceilings and are only in search of solid Indian food, then this is your spot. First things first, if you're not a fan of Luke warm tap water, order a drink, I got the mango lassi which was good. We also got the Momos (10 bucks I think?) and their chicken tikka masala and lamb vindaloo. Food tastes: the momos packed a punch of spice and was pretty heavy with ginger slices. The chicken tikka masala was good but not the most amazing in town. The vindaloo was perfection with fall apart lamb in a tangy vindaloo sauce. In conclusion, I'd probably get take out but this is easily the best Indian food you're going to find in the area.

Frank P.

Yelp
Nepalese epicurean experience in good old Cedar Park! Had the buffet on opening weekend and it was a wonderful meal. For $11 you get appetizer, salad, a range of entree dishes, naan and dessert. The standouts were the vegetable pakora, saag paneer, lamb vindaloo and chicken tikka masala. The pakora were fresh and crispy with lots of flavor. The spiciness of the vindaloo was authentic without being over the top. All the chicken was moist and perfectly cooked (including the tandoori)! We had to wait for the naan, but it was fresh and hot from the oven. Well worth the wait. A simple rice pudding with apple and grapes rounded the feast. We will be back to sample some of the more uniquely Nepalese dishes on their menu.

Æ F.

Yelp
It's nice to have good Indian food in Cedar Park. I got the Prawn masala, chefs goat special, bread basket and sadheko momo. The goat dish had good flavor, decent amount of meat and spice. The Prawns were also good, but not as good as the goat for me and the momo caught me off guard as it had a wasabi or horse radish like flavor which I'm not a huge fan of. The most disappointing part of this meal would have to be the bread basket and naans. They were very bland and floppy, like what you get from microwaveable naans and not crispy on the edges. Overall though it was a good experience and I will be going back despite being on the pricier side. Also wish the buffet would open again to try that out.

Erick H.

Yelp
I have no shame in admitting that I've been eating here once a week for the past month! The food is absolutely amazing! The spices of each dish are incredible. The appetizers are just as good as the entrees. Also, the employees are very kind and definitely hard working! When you pick up you park your car in front, call the number on the door, and they bring it to you did to covid. It's very common for me to roll up and there are 4-5 other cars waiting as well, but you see them flying around and getting everyone their orders quickly while they are still piping hot! If you love this style of food, you won't regret it from Yak N Yeti!

Raymond B.

Yelp
This is probably the best Indian food in the city. And it has a great twist from Nepal. My favorite is the Spicy Momo. This place is fantastic. Looking forward to In Person dinning.

Patrick B.

Yelp
Garlic Naan was wonderful! The samosas were okay, but I'll probably skip them next time. The Chicken Tikka Masala was good, but I thought it was lacking a little flavor. The lamb vindaloo had plenty of flavor, it was delicious but oh so spicy. I ordered it medium and it left me in tears. Finally, the Jhol Momo was my favorite. Interesting flavors, just a little spicy kick, the soup and dumpling combo was great.

Antonio A.

Yelp
Ordered a few weeks ago for the first time and forgot to write a review. The food tastes great but the portion sizes leave a lot to be desired. I spent $60 on 3 dishes and a side of naan and honestly couldn't figure out what I paid $60 for. We were still hungry. Majorly disappointed since it had good reviews. Maybe eating in is different but as of right now they don't offer that option, and of course I understand why.

Erin H.

Yelp
We had several people recommend this to us but we were quite disappointed. The butter chicken started off with a very sweet honey taste and ended spicy. It was far too sweet and didn't taste like butter chicken. The vindaloo lacked flavor and was just spicy. Neither had the same flavors as traditional dishes. There very few Nepali restaurants with momos. They were not bad but not something I'd rave about. I wouldn't order again the flavors and price compared to the portions it wasn't worth it. If I was in the area and craving momos that's the only thing I'd order.

Sean M.

Yelp
Soooo good! My husband and I were looking for good Indian places around us. Most of the Indian joints we used to go to were downtown. This place had good reviews and wasn't too far so we decided to give it a shot. Not disappointed. Everything was delicious! I ate so much, I gave myself a tummy ache. I'm vegetarian so I got their korma curry dish with naan and basmati rice. Now I can't stop craving it. I'd eat here all the time if it didn't mean blowing my entire paycheck on Indian food hahaha. Portions are great, everything is filling, and prices are good too!

Jason C.

Yelp
I've had them before and food was good, but for my recent order 3 of the 4 dishes ordered were not good and aggregating given the cost paid for each. All were overly watery, no taste even though I had requested Spicy on each, and practically either no chicken (in the butter chicken) or no dal in either the two dal dishes. Just really disappointed and likely won't order from them again.

Mohak R.

Yelp
So disappointed with their food.... $15 thali feeds half a person.... How can you charge so much and give so little amount of food?.. we ordered $25 worth of food and had to order more from other restaurant. Being Nepali myself the food is just ok... I have had better food in other Nepali restaurants ..
