Yamitsuki - Review - Center City - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"There’s something about eating a bowl of ramen that makes us feel like we’re getting a warm hug from the Phanatic (in a totally safe and nonthreatening way, of course). And that’s exactly how we feel when eating Yamitsuki’s veggie miso ramen. This bowl is long-weekend level restorative, with salty and miso flavors coming through in every spoonful of the broth that’s covered in sweet corn, scallion, bamboo, and bean sprouts." - Candis R. What a cool spot! The decor is an awesome blend of old school ramen bar with modern anime vibes! And the home made Ironman suit is a wild touch! The food was top notch and fast! Delicious ramen bowls and hot sake! So good! Definitely recommend!

Yesterday I wanted some ramen really badly y’all lol. So I googled ramen and this place popped up so I went! Omg the food ,service and atmosphere were amazing! I started off with an appetizer first. I got the pork dumplings with a side of soy sauce and I must say I love a good crisp! They were juicy and the bottom was crunchy. My second choose was a big bowl of ramen. The broth was amazing!! Five outta five ! My waitress Dara was SUPER SWEET❤️. Very helpful and patient and polite. The art work on the wall was awesome, u couldn’t snag a pic because my phone died. All and all everything was a good. So I definitely recommend and also they gave a nice lunch special everyday. They also only accept cash in the weekends. I don’t know why it’s like and no I didn’t ask. But yes CASH ONLY ON THE WEEKENDS!! .

We had 5-6 different ramens on a snowy night, and everyone were happy with their choices - so delicious! Also, the place has amazing decoration and authentic vibe! Highly recommended. :)

Overall, my wife and I had a decent experience trying out this Yamitsuki Ramen. The proportion sizes were large compared to other Ramen spots. We have tried in Philadelphia or Boston. I got their signature Ramen dish, which had a very generous portion of pork and fresh noodles. I was not a fan of their garlic broth and the significant amount of ginger slices. Lastly, my soft-boiled egg came out hard-boiled. That was a little disappointing, but I’ll write it off as a fluke moment. I don’t think I will get this Yamitsuki Ramen dish again, but I look forward to trying something else on their menu during our next visit. My wife got the Tan Tan Ramen. The proportion sizes was also good and her soft-boiled egg also came out hard-boiled. She felt as though the meat was very dry, and the bamboo was tough. It goes without saying, she is not very interested in coming back again, but we will give them a second chance since they are a small business. Ambience: pretty cool. The anime-themed wallpaper and Naruto on the menu were nice. I also enjoyed the music selection. It could’ve been a little lower. I had a hard time getting our waitress's attention and I attributed that to the music volume.

Bruh. Food and drinks are both really good, ESPECIALLY considering the price if you come during happy hour. Vibes are great, fun 2010’s pop music and good lighting. It gets busy sometimes so once in awhile you’ll have to wait for service but the staff are all super accommodating and friendly and I’ve never had anyone in my group receive a wrong order/ anything missing/ a meal they weren’t happy with. We come here for happy hour on everybody’s birthday now because it’s great- I highly recommend!!!

Google
Excellent Ramen. Staff gets you taken care of quickly. Food comes out before you even have a moment to think (not a bad thing). Restaurant plays music that's not too loud but allows you to have a conversation and not be overhead by other tables. Cash only is annoying, so come prepared.

We went on a weekend, and the food was really delicious! My sister and I got the veggie miso ramen and the tofu was so delicious. The place had a lovely ambiance and our waitress was very sweet and attentive. Food came out really quickly too! Just to note, on weekends they are cash only! Would come back here

Google
FYI cash only here! There’s an ATM inside of the restaurant that you can use if you need to withdraw some cash. We went here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We got seated immediately and the food that we ordered were served in no time. We got the udon, spicy ramen in chicken broth, tonkotsu ramen, gyoza, and karaage. Everything was so delicious and flavorful, however, I think the ramen broth was a bit too salty. My friends did not think so perhaps it was my personal preference. The restaurant was busy however the staffs were still so nice and attentive!!

Yelp
Excellent food. Loved their signature Yamitsuki ramen. Broth was the perfect flavor, and the ramen had just the right texture. Service was quick, though our waitress was a bit frazzled. Note: Sign at the front of the store says cash only on the weekends.

Yelp
This hip looking spot is two doors down from my new place. So one night after building furniture I wandered in for a much needed meal. Yamitsuki Ramen: The House Ramen was perfection in a bowl. I ordered a side spice bomb but ended up not needing it. The deep soothing broth complimented with the tantalizing garlic oil filled me with such joy. The pork was rich and fatty and perfectly cooked. The Pickled Ginger gave me a big surprise. It packed power and tang, and helped you finish your bowl with the contrast of the richness. This is a perfect bowl of Ramen. First Landing: I find myself craving this cocktail even if I like to try new things. It's the perfect blend of an old fashioned and a whiskey sour with just the right upgrades to make it their own. A must sip for Whiskey lovers. Service: Everyone had lovely smiles and was very friendly. they were happy to answer any questions even on a busy night. Please note on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday they are Cash only. They have an ATM onsite though with only a 2 dollar fee which is very cheap by today's standards I find. Atmosphere: I'll admit part of me as a 40 year old fat old woman made me nervous to go in. I'm glad I did though. It has a very young fun vibe. Very clean and attractive decor. They have a DJ some nights based on their ads. I must say despite being old and unappealing a free glow stick would enrapture my sense in a pleasant way! They have Naruto and One Piece on the Menu, which despite being an anime fan made me wonder if they were the real deal or just trying to grab tourists. NOPE! Real Deal all the way. But may I suggest if you change the Menu, the wonderful anime Jojo's Bizarre Adventure? Or Sailor Moon for an old Gal like me XD Loved every bite, can't wait to go back for the tantanmen

Yelp
I really didn't want to leave this review, but I felt like I had to warn people. Your mileage may vary. I ordered the Yamitsuki ramen (delicious! straight noodles, black garlic sauce, kuroi tamago, chashu, fishcake, bamboo shoots, ginger and scallions). One of the best ramen I've had outside of Hawaii. Bowl came out quick, and I finished it just as quickly. The problem: my king salmon sushi roll never came. The manager kept assuring me it's coming and that the restaurant was busy. My server (who didn't take my order for the first 10 minutes--she walked by several times, went on her phone even though I still had a menu) never gave me an update. By this time, people who came in 15 minutes AFTER me already have their sushi. I told them I didn't want the sushi anymore, and I just wanted the check. I gave the manager the tip on cash because she did more for me. Great food (if it comes). A bit noisy, but expected because it's a younger clientele. I rarely come to Philadelphia, but if I did, I'm getting ramen elsewhere.

Yelp
Nice shop near china town, kind of long so there is plenty of seating which I imagine they fill out in peak hours. Just seems like it is the kind of place that would be nice to be in on a saturday night out. There's sound machines so I imagine its possible to have live music performances or maybe karaoke. The restaurant itself has a Naruto vibe, maybe because its a character people know. As for the food, my group and I all got ramen bowls and there was just no complaints. I was full finishing the bowl of noodles, toppings, and broth. It all mixed well together and had nice spice level which was appreciated as its that time of year where it is starting to get cold outside Would definitely like to come here again

Yelp
I love Yamitsuki. It definitely has a younger crowd, but I don't mind that. The inside is well decorated. It has a very fun anime theme. If you love sushi, this is the most affordable happy hour. The drinks are great. I love the bramble one. The ramen is my favorite I've tried in the city. The service is great. Just know that on the weekends they are cash only!!

Yelp
My friends daughter wanted Ramen so we decided to try Yamitsuki. We did not have a reservation and we were seated immediately. The food came out quickly. We all Ordered ramen. I ordered the Karai Ramen with chicken. The broth was delicious! There is bar inside of you want to order drinks. I ordered a sprite and for whatever reason was surprised that it was served to me in a can. If you want a sweet tea be aware that you would need to add the sugar yourself. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive.

Yelp
Popped into Yamitsuki Ramen after attending an event at the Pennsylvania Expo Center. They had a super convenient location. It was on the weekend, so it was cash only. This was posted outside, and staff made sure I was aware of this before being seated. I ordered a bowl of ramen, which was delivered quickly and was delicious. I spent a lot of time staring at their beautiful mural. It was fun looking at all the anime characters and trying to place what series they were from. It was great to have a nice, quiet meal after all the hustle and bustle.

Yelp
Been coming here for lunch special recently -- pretty great! I'm trying all the lunch special options and so far the ramen has been the most delicious and best value IMO. Large space and the workers are attentive and active but still chill as I hang out on my computer. There probably was a misunderstanding today with me being seated by one waitress and then another thinking I sat myself down but overall they've been mostly cordial and good experiences. As of now, still plan to continue to come for the lunch special.

Yelp
We arrived in Philadelphia around 9:30pm and rushed before the restaurant closed at 10pm. I've had way better ramen and sushi. The place smelled bad as well. The Diet Coke I ordered was dirty on top of the can.

Yelp
Nice spot. They play hip-hop music. I would bring young kids bc the music isn't edited. The service was good. I sat at the bar and was served immediately and that wasn't due to a lack of patrons but rather the attentiveness of the bar staff. The sushi roll was good and the Ramen delish. I took some rolls back to the hotel for my wife to try and she crushed what I had left. Despite the outside surroundings the restaurant appeared clean. I didn't do the bathroom check and tbh I was attending a conference and didn't have loads of time to take in the to be examined as I needed to eat and go. Pleasant experience. I had an Old Fashion and it was good. Not too strong nor watered down. I would come back again.

Yelp
Enjoyed the anime theme throughout the restaurant, and the staff was pleasant and worked as a team to take and serve orders which was nice to see. It took less than 5 minutes from ordering our appetizers (karaage chicken and chicken steamed buns) for them to be served to us. And barely another 5 minutes before our entrees showed up which was almost concerningly quick. I had the shrimp tempura udon for my entree and wasn't super thrilled with my choice. Was very bland, and I was quite disappointed. The chicken steamed buns were also a bit disappointing. Perhaps the pork would have been a better choice? Hubby was happy with his choice of the yamitsuki ramen, and we both enjoyed the karaage chicken. Overall, it wasn't the worst experience we have had, but also, I don't know that it will be a place i return

Yelp
This is my go to spot of ramen and sushi. The prices are very affordable and the food is filling and yummy. They also have lunch specials and a happy hour that have some of the best prices in the city. The vibes are very fun and lively. A huge ironman statue welcomes you at the door. There is a mural filled with anime characters running around Philly's Chinatown in the center. They always are playing fun music. Service is great, the food always comes out super fast.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday night with a friend, and I was actually confused where the door was because it was all glass and I didn't know where the handle was. Long behold there was a small door on the side that you could open. ( I was standing there looking confused and dumb lol) Anyways first time here since I'm visiting and they only accept cash on weekends (Friday, sat, sun) so make sure you bring cash or use the ATM machine they have inside. The food came out quick and we were sat down fast, I had a mixed drink and I got the miso ramen. We also shared Takoyaki as an appetizer as well. Food was good, broth was good light and flavorful and noodles were too my liking, not too hard, not to soft. They play literally music in here kinda loud, I felt like I lowkey was at the club lol. My only complaint was that we didn't have a lot of cash on us so we ended tipping the waitress with whatever left cash we had (which was 8$) and right when we got our check back she was explaining that minimum tipping is mandatory and that we needed to tip, I literally apologize and said I didn't have anymore cash on me and I wasn't going to use the atm to get money to tip, so she said she can take Apple Pay or Venmo. I literally thought to myself "is this a Philly thing?" And then I said it out Loud and she looked at me and I was like wtf I've never heard of something like this, she walked away and was prob talking shit but she came back and said "if it's too inconvenient for you then you don't have to" so then I was like what was the point of giving me your Venmo then. So then I got up and was like okay what ever byeeeeeee LOL. Idk if I'll be back because that literally ruined my mood. Like girl you checked on me maybe 1 time and you didn't even refill my glass of water.

Yelp
The rest was a nice vibe. It wasn't busy at the time, staff was pleasant and they were cash only (on the weekends). Where we sat there was a bit of an odor(not sure what) I had the Yamitsuki ramen. The pork broth was good with the black garlic. The port was tender and marinated. Now the actual noodles were way over cooked almost like pasta. I prefer firm ramen. My boyfriend got a couple avocado rolls and he said they good. Soy sauce Cha's on a to-go sauce cup vs a sushi saucer. Ok might try again but def need my noodles right!

Yelp
Food was great. Host was friendly and helpful with recommendations. Nice atmosphere and decor.

Yelp
Have been to Yamitsuki several times before. Service is always fast. This time I tried the Miso veggie ramen. The broth & noodles were delicious. Did not care for the sweet chewy tofu though. My DD tried the Donburi chicken rice bowl. Chicken was tender & seasoned just right. The mural on the wall with a local Philly street scene was giving a Japanese feel along with the other decor. Nice!

Yelp
Delicious Ramen, Lunch pricing is awesome, amazing vibe. Deserves way more than 3.5 stars.

Yelp
They need to update their Google Map listing, website, everything. And put up their hours on the door please. Came here for lunch only to find out that they were closed. Frustrating.

Yelp
My mom and I stopped here before leaving home to LA and let me tell you their food was delish!! The restaurant is super cute and hip! Restrooms were clean which is such a plus! The service was excellent the gentleman helping us went above and beyond even with all my requests to remove things from my ramen since my belly was sensitive from having so many different meals due to traveling!

Yelp
The place was nice, service was fast and good, and the Tan Tan Raman was amazing give it a try..

Yelp
Sooo... It's Center City Restaurant Week!! When I showed my son the list of restaurants, he saw that Yamitsuki had Dumplings and he insisted we try them out. I said why not. We dined Tuesday September 13, 2022. We made no reservation. We just showed up. We arrived around 7:45 pm and was seated immediately. The restaurant was not too busy or crowded. When you walk in there's a Iron Man suit behind a display glass. Very cute. Our waitress arrived and immediately set mason jars of cold water and asked if we needed time with ordering. She gave us a minute then returned. Remember, how I said my son was interested in the dumplings?!? Well he didn't order them. Instead he ordered: French Fries, Karrage Chicken, Pork Steam Buns. I, however, stuck to the Restaurant Week menu. I ordered: -- Gyoza Pork Dumplings (4-Piece) -- Pork Steam Buns -- Miso Ramen -- Tiramisu Glass The wait for our food was not long, but gave my son enough time to snap photos of the anime| manga -- like comic on the wall. When the food arrived, basically EVERYTHING arrived! My whole appetizer and entree and all of the foods my son ordered. This was great except the table we were seated at was small and. With all of the food plus the drinks and the chopsticks/napkins. It was very crowded. I had to sit some of the food on the seat bench next to me. The food was delicious though. The Gyoza were nice and juicy. The Pork Steam Buns were soft and chewy. (I've had Steam buns where they were so hard, it was like chewing cardboard) These were perfect! The Miso Ramen was tasty and flavorful. It had mushrooms which I don't eat though. The bowl was a nice size. You definitely could get full off of just the ramen. I tried my best to eat the ramen with the chopsticks before relenting and asking for an actual fork. The Tiramisu was delicious. I think I ate it soo fast. They brought TWO spoons like I was going to share with my son. No way! I scraped the glass clean. All in all my son and enjoyed the atmosphere and the food and would definitely return for more. Definitely can't wait to try out other items on the menu.

Yelp
This is my new favorite ramen spot! I got the signature and 2 rolls of the green dragon. Sushi here was also great will be back soon!

Yelp
I haven't had a chance to visit the location but I can say the food is great ! I ordered spicy ramen and spicy salmon rolls and it was beyond delicious. I was so happy when i saw they had a spicy ramen option with chicken a lot of places didn't have it. Can't wait to come visit

Yelp
The place has a bit of a hip-hop, anime vibe. It was very cool. The food was well prepared and generous portions. The drinks were also well crafted. The menu had lots of choices. I will definitely go back again.

Yelp
The first time I stepped into this place. I was just walking around after a Dr Appt. I wasn't too sure if I wanted something to eat or not. When I walked pass the building, it caught my eye. So I walked in & I was in odds. I have never had ramen other than making what I buy for home. I was so excited when I walked in & was seated right away. My waiter knew that it was my first time experiencing authentic ramen. So I was brought the chef special & little samples of apps. It's been awhile since I've been back there but I am now planning to make a stop there & walk around Chinatown.

Yelp
*Indoor dining review* Ok Ramen, if you're starving and are craving Ramen, and there's no other Ramen restaurants nearby. Not quite a Ramen restaurant, more so a Bar with options to eat Ramen. Restaurant: 3/5 Service: 3/5 Food: 2/5 Parking: Street meter parking Restaurant: We came here after a visit to the aquarium, and since other Restaurant was closed between lunch and dinner we decided to give this place a try. The review seemed ok and the website description stated "authentic Japanese flavor" right in their About Us page. The Restaurant has a very bar/karaoke vibe to it. Didn't deter us from visiting as long as the food is good... unfortunately the food didn't meet our expectations. Service: Nothing extraordinary, at the time we visited. There was a lot of staffs on lunch it seemed. They were able to provide just enough service. Food: To claim that they are "authentic Japanese flavor" ...not quite, far from it. We ordered 2 Ramen and both with Chicken: Yamitsuki Ramen (I was thinking with the Restaurant name on it, it must be their specialty and has to be good. I was very VERY wrong, the broth was oily, almost a room temperature and very bland, no flavor. The Chicken was pre-boiled or broil, and was very dry, not to mention they were barely size of my thumb (2 pieces total) Miso Ramen (Pretty good, unfortunately came with same precooked dried chicken. At least the broth was Ok. In conclusion: I would not visit again, we went in hungry and left disappointed. I think we will stick to our regular spot from now on, in the same area. Or try another.

Yelp
Good late night ramen spot. Both the spicy broth (nice kick but not too overwhelming) and classic pork with black garlic (nice undertone of the butter garlicky bite) were well done. The support thick cut of pork belly was also a nice addition as was the bamboo shoots that still maintained their crunchiness. Takoyaki had a nice tender octopus inside and still retained it's texture. The only downside was the miniscule size chicken karrage. More like slivers of chicken rather than the chunks that it should be

Yelp
We came here craving ramen on a cold winter night. Our group had 5 people so we made a reservation via phone. When we arrived they told us it was cash only that night and that they had an ATM inside the restaurant. I was a bit bummed because they could've told us over the phone when I called them 2 hours prior. Anywhoo we were okay with the 2$ service fee and were excited for what was to come. Ambiance Most ramen places in the city can be quite cramped up especially if you're looking to go as a group but this didn't feel like it. It was spacious and had a large table at the back for 10+ people celebrating a birthday. Overall, I'd rate the ambiance 5/10 but who cares, we were here for the food. Service I think the service was average. We weren't catered to right away and had to wait pretty long to have our order taken or even get attention in between our meal. The food came out pretty quickly but we had questions about the menu that weren't answered to our liking/ let alone be offered recommendations. I had concerns with the spice levels and wasn't able to get an idea of how spicy their food actually was. I decided to get chilli oil on the side. Food Our group ordered Takoyaki & Sea weed salad - 7/10 Sweet potato roll - 0/10 most disliked item on the table Miso Veggie Ramen (only vegetarian option) - 6/10 Karai Ramen - 2/10 the spice overpowered the flavor Tan Tan Ramen - 8/10 Perfectly spiced and very tasty Overall I think the food was worth a try. I am not sure if I'll be back here only because there's so many other ramen places I'd love to give a shot.

Yelp
We went during happy hour and tried their sushi, Karrage Chicken, and Tonkotsu Ramen. Tuna Avocado: Fresh! Big chunk of tuna and good ratio of ingredients. Shrimp Tempura: Shrimp had a lot of breading and the roll could have used more avocado. However, the two chunks of cucumber were refreshing. Spicy Tuna and Salmon: Too many tempura flakes, making the fish hard. Karrage Chicken: Chicken was well seasoned and a little gingery. However, the serving size was small - 5 pieces for $5. Tonkotsu Ramen: Soup was silky and creamy but not flavorful. The fatty pork was nicely charred, and the egg was well marinated.

Yelp
Ordered GrubHub from here and wouldn't again. 1. Rock Shrimp Don - all breading and clumps of it too. It's as if they put some shrimp in a bowl of batter and dumped the entire thing in the fryer. Came out like fried shrimp pancake. Also it was more of a spicey mayonnaise vs curry sauce in a dinky solo cup. 2. Shrimp Crunch Roll with Asparagus without the Asparagus. They used avocado instead.. but that's not why we ordered it. 3. Karrage Chicken - wasn't received 4. Onigiri - average, nothing special. 5. Yamitsuki Roll with shrimp tempura, topped with spicy tuna, eel, masago, salmon crunch avocado with "special sauce" - there was no masago and a sliver of eel on one out of the six pieces of the roll. This is the same exact sauce they served with the Rock Shrimp Don which they claimed to be a curry sauce on the menu. Seems like they ran out of curry sauce and got lazy and threw in spicey mayonnaise instead. Overall flavor was average for the things we did receive, but I have little to no tolerance who leave out ingredients in the description and continue to charge full price. It's one thing if you left out a piece of parsley, but asparagus, masago, eel.... smh.

Yelp
This ramen place is very nice with the K-Pop music and anime themed interiors and menus! The staff and our server were nice too - we paid through venmo. Overall, I'd say the prices for the food is very decent compared to other places! Portions are satisfying and gets the hunger down. The taste of the food is average though. My ramen broth didn't have much flavour and seemed watered down, but I did like the pork in it. I preferred my friend's spicy ramen. There are probably better places for ramen in Chinatown but if you're trying to be price-conscious, you can come here. I think you can definitely tell that this place isn't known to be an amazing ramen place you have to go to in the area based off the type of customers you see in this restaurant. LOL. But it is close to a lot of nice shops and is in a pretty popular location.

Yelp
Delicious sushi & ramen. Friendly Customer Service. Great Atmosphere. The sushi and ramen here are so yummy! I love coming here, the atmosphere is very lively at night and the servers are so friendly and helpful. I highly recommend coming here!

Yelp
Good food. Trendy, young clientele and thumping music that will keep you rockin' even for late nights. Prices are good, too!

Yelp
I've been to Yamitsuki a few times and I always leave satisfied! They have a lot of menu options including cocktails and sake. I absolutely LOVE ramen so I can confidently say that it's not the best ramen I've had but it's really good! Yamitsuki is not my top choice for ramen but it's definitely in my top 5! They also serve sushi here as well!

Yelp
I made a reservation through google and it's very convenient. If you prefer convenience, you can park at the parking garage near Reading Terminal Market on 11st between Filbert and Arch. Upon entering the restaurant I was greeted by a friendly hostess. Our waiter was very attentive. A lot of mixed drinks options. My husband and his friend ordered Coronarita and they enjoyed them. All orders came out fast and served in disposable plates and bowls. Appetizers: takoyaki balls are not too doughy, perfect amount of sauce. Shrimp wrapped in noodles were crunchy with spicy mayonnaise dipping. Edamame were warm and fresh. Sushi and sashimi: fish were fresh, enough amount of rice. Main course: tan tan ramen and spicy ramen. My husband and his friend enjoyed them a lot. Sushi rolls: the regular rolls are small but had good amount of fillings, not too expensive. Signature rolls: I forgot the names. I think one of them is tuna crunch and the other one has strawberry toppings with mango glaze filled with shrimp tempura. The one with strawberry is very different than regular sushi because it's sweet. The temperature had a nice crunchy batter. I love the wall paintings depicting the Chinatown scenes.

Yelp
Got off of work and decided to check out this ramen spot by myself. As I entered the restaurant, I was greeted by the bartender and I asked if it was okay to sit at the bar since I was by myself. He immediately gave me a cup of water and a menu which I love how quick he accommodated me but maybe because I was the only one sitting at the bar. I browsed the menu and let me tell you, I love any establishment that provides pictures in their menus. I need to visually see what I am going to eat and also what to expect. Since my bf wasn't with me I was indecisive with what cocktail I should go for, the watermelon martini or the lychee martini??? Isn't that a hard decision?! Thank god I was able to ask the bartender for his input and he chose the watermelon martini and it was delicious! It was a refreshing taste but you can still taste a tad bit of alcohol. I seen that there was a ramen section and sushi section but since I always eat sushi I decided to try ramen for a change. The bartender also helped me decided between the karai ramen or udon and he said that the karai ramen was better. He did not disappoint with his decision. The ramen was a bit spicy but i felt like it opened up my airways, it had plenty of stuff inside such as kimichi, bamboo, a half of boiled egg, chicken, etc. My only downfall with the ramen was that the chicken was a TAD bit dry but overall it was good! Def recommend going here for something quick and yummy !!!

Yelp
Food always comes out fast and is yummy everytime I have gone here! I usually order the tonkotsu ramen and it is my favorite. The reason why I'm giving this restaurant a 3 star is because of the staff, specifically the hostess on Monday 11/10. I walk in and she just stares at me as she was sitting on the table, I smile and wave at her and she continues to just stare, then she gets up and walks over to me... no smile no greeting. Then I say "hi, for one" and she just says "yeah". After that she motions to follow her to the table where she just drops a menu and doesn't say anything. Not a huge problem, but it was kind of rude. My waiter never checked on me and I had to ask for a water refill and my check, but nothing was worse than the hostess.

Yelp
Stopped in and got a King Salmon roll. Fish tastes like it's about to go bad. Couldn't finish.

Yelp
Stopped by for dinner on a Sunday evening. We were happy to find out we arrived during their happy hour, which is 4:30pm-6:30pm every day! DRINKS: We both had the bramble cocktails, which were very refreshing and delicious FOOD: For starters, we had a spicy salmon roll and 2 pork buns. The sushi was delicious and I really enjoyed it. I was a bit underwhelmed by the pork buns, I felt like they were small and the cut of pork could have been thicker. For ramen, we had the miso and spicy, both of which were very good! The broth was savory and the noodles were perfectly chewy. Many places charge extra for the marinated egg, but Yamitsuki doesn't, which is great! All in all, the food here is great! You get a good bang for your buck, especially during the happy hour. For some reason they had us pay in cash that day, which was an inconvenience but the food makes up for it.

Yelp
Portion sizes were good and the broth was not super salty like it is at many other ramen spots, however, my ramen was overall kind of bland - from the chicken to the ramen broth and even the egg, everything was just lacking in flavor. I ordered the Yamitsuki ramen because I generally love black garlic oil in ramen but I didn't taste any of the black garlic flavor at all. Maybe the sushi here is better and it seems like a decent spot to hang out with friends at but the ramen was not impressive

Yelp
The Bramble drink was soooo good. The service was fast and the atmosphere was a total vibe! Singing to the music all night and enjoying a hearty meal of ramen and gyoza :) What a great first night in Philly experience!

Yelp
Three and a half stars, but rounding up to four didn't feel right. Edit to add that they only take cash on the weekends for no apparently legitimate reason. The ramen was pretty decent - rich, flavorful broth, but the bamboo gave a bitterness to the whole thing. I enjoyed it, though. My husband said his fried shrimp were likely from Costco... The server was friendly and efficient. So the ambiance is the real issue here. The music was just slightly too loud, and while I'm not a prude, I also don't need lyrics blasting that talk about how I "motherf***ing love you" while I'm trying to eat my noodles. I also could have done without one of the cooks prepping cutlets or something for 20 minutes by banging on a metal table in the kitchen. I ate as quickly as I could to get away from the noise.
