The best barbecue restaurants in Denver - Eater Denver

"Located in the heart of Denver, with a second location down in Greenwood Village, this Memphis-style barbecue shop has kept a steady stream of loyal customers that often buy out the daily supply of smoked meat. Owner Don Hines uses four types of spice rub — but no sauce — in his cooking process. He believes in letting the flavor of the smoked meat speak for itself before guests slather on their choice of sauce. Don’t miss the St. Louis-style pork ribs or the rooftop patio." - Rebecca Treon, Eater Staff, Nisa Sedaghat

Google
We popped in for lunch on a Friday afternoon after reading the Google reviews. There’s a parking lot right by the front door, which makes getting in easy. You have the option of counter service downstairs or full service upstairs. We chose full service. Upstairs has a full bar and a covered open-air seating area, and we were the only ones up there! The breeze made it a very pleasant spot to relax. Now for the food: the coleslaw was exactly my kind of slaw, creamy mayo goodness, just the way I like it. I wasn’t a fan of the mac and cheese; it had that Velveeta-style cheese, which isn’t for me, though my partner enjoyed it. The brisket was decent but chopped, I personally prefer it in larger chunks. We also tried the rib tips based on the hype but wished we had skipped them. The bones made them awkward to eat, and it might just be a regional favorite we didn’t quite enjoy or understand. Added bonus: there’s a bar with a variety of sauces to choose from. Overall, it’s worth stopping in, but we’d recommend picking and choosing menu items based on your personal preferences.

Google
Great food, nice people. My husband heard them struggling to understand a order so my husband went and interpreted. He's a medical interpreter so it was no problem. And they hooked us up with a delicious rib and gave us a discount on the Peach Cobbler. Will be back soon

Google

Google
Stopped here as part of our vacation and it absolutely hit the spot! The food was hot and ready very quickly. The service and employees there were welcoming and had a light hearted manner about them. Once we got eating the ribs were amazing, their variety of sauces went well with our food and we loved the sides of beans as well. Overall, great food, and even better price!

Google
Some of the best macaroni and cheese. Soooo good! I also really enjoyed their sausage. Brisket was pretty decent, but being from Texas I have high standards for that. Their sauces were fun to try and honestly, their sweet tea surprised me. I love being able to actually taste the tea and not just sugar. Staff was super friendly and it was a great experience especially for the price. I’ll be back.

Google
Excellent customer service. We had the pulled pork sandwich and rib tips. Both were amazing! We will definitely go back next time we are in town.

Google
Really good BBQ. I got the rib tips, Mac and cheese and beans. They give big portions and it was reasonably priced. Will be back!!!

Google
I had the rib tips, hot link, potato salad and coleslaw. Everything was really good. I took the tip of mixing the gold and hot together and it didn’t disappoint! The prices for good barbecue was also great on the wallet. Highly recommend if you looking for BBQ in Denver.

Yelp
Omg!!! Great flavor and generous portions. Worth every penny. And it's affordable. The vibe is friendly and service is amazing. Definitely coming back again.

Yelp
Definitely!!! Hole in the wall places are THE BEST!!! This BBQ is banging and the prices are the lowest that I've ever seen for a BBQ restaurant The restaurant also has upstairs with outdoor roof top bar and balcony. The rib tips w/ potato salad and beans were the perfect hit on a beautiful hot day! I'll definitely return here when back in the area. The service was great! As always, There's plenty of parking onsite which was awesome because being so close to downtown usually there's a cost to park.

Yelp
I decided to venture away from the restaurants near my hotel adjacent to the convention center because I was craving Texas/southern style BBQ. My walk (on Champa St) ended when I saw their sign and back patio area. The restaurant looks like a sort of island oasis as the building is flanked by well trafficked streets. Also it looks to be the only restaurant in the area, my quick scan noticing mostly apartments and mixed industrial spaces. You literally can't miss them! That said, it's more than a stand which isn't what I expected. The interior is spacious and has table service (upstairs), gathering/hangout space outside (and inside) as well as plenty of parking. I was there around "linner" time, which was relatively empty of people. The dude at the counter was friendly and was more than happy to guide me through their menu. I had a 3 meal meat combo: 2 ribs, pulled pork and brisket. Also had two sides: green beans and slaw. And dessert! I left full and was happy to be able to "walk off" my linner. The pulled pork so awesome ! Tender, Smokey 100% delicious. I can say the same about the ribs and add they were very tender...I could have an entire rack no problem. The brisket wasn't my favorite, I don't like the way it was served, which was chopped...not sure if it can be requested another way. I would have preferred slices of brisket. Also texture wise it was a little dry. The sides were awesome! The cobbler, hmm, I loved it, as it was sweet but it didn't have any crust only some crunchy stuff that left me wanting crust...again delicious and very much a dessert but definitely not what I expected nor would describe as a traditional cobbler. Flavor was sold though. Overall, my craving for BBq and desire to go outside of what's being offered near the convention center was more than satisfied. Great meal at a great value. I think I spent less than $25 for my combo and dessert. I doubt I'll spend less money on food the rest of my time in the downtown area!

Yelp
Popped in to grab some ribs to go. Got a full rack with Mac & cheese and potato salad. Really fresh sides. Delicious. The ribs were so moist, didn't even need sauce but my man loved the hot sauce. Cool place. Long-term local biz. Give them a shot

Yelp
I had an opportunity to pop in here for a quick lunch with friends. After finding this place on Yelp (and being disappointed by a failed attempt at getting BBQ elsewhere a couple days prior), I thought I'd check this place out. It was within walking distance of where I was staying so that also made it a good choice. When we arrived the place wasn't very busy and we decided to check out the upstairs. It was not busy either and had open air seating creating a very laid back atmosphere. It seemed to be a good area to sit so we grabbed some menus from the bar and a table. Shortly after, our Server came over with waters and took our orders once we were ready. He turned out to be very friendly and was good about checking up on us, offering to refill our drinks and casual small talk. He even shared with us the story around receiving their Yelp award. I decided to try a quarter pound of smoked brisket and a half pound of smoked rib tips. Their meat comes just smoked with their dry rub and no sauce, just the way that I prefer it. Naked. They had a selection of sauces that you add yourself including some made-in-house and Sweet Baby Rays. I enjoyed my BBQ sans sauce. Apparently, the mac-n-cheese and the bob can be hard to come by and my companions lucked up and were able to obtain both. Overall, I enjoyed my meal here and if I had discovered them sooner during my visit, I probably would have come back 1 or 2 more times to try different smoked meats.

Yelp
One word: YUM!!! My tummy has been growling all day, and I've been wanting to try Yazoo for some time but never had an excuse. Today was that day and I was not disappointed! Mac and cheese and the hash browns are a MUST try!!!

Yelp
Over the years I've remained a fan. Seven years to be exact. Love their ribs. Just love their delicious Bbq in general. It's dry-rubbed which I favor. They remained open during pandemic. I'm glad they made it! Ignore the somewhat iffy location for a great Bbq. Let's support them! They have a good sized private parking lot which is getting more and more rare these days. Recently they were in the top ten Bbq places in Denver! Says Yazoo "BBQ comes in more ways than just about any food on earth. We think our way is the best, cuz it's Deep South Style. Prepared with our own Dry Rub (sauce keeps the smoke out of the meat...put the sauce on later if you like). Smoked with real Pecan flavor. To them bbq sauce is a condiment that can be added after. Amen!

Yelp
If you want real BBQ ....this isn't your place The worst place I've ever tried Sides are not homemade but store bought Food appeared to be leftover from previous DAYS Food temp luke warm and that's being generous If you think this is Memphis style..Elvis is rolling over in his grave right now Avoid this place at all costs

Yelp
Food is great, big portion .the 3 meat combo, ribs, brisket, & links, with a side of hash brown casserole, and pickled green beans. Everything was delicious, just the pickled beans wasn't my taste. But I'm sure others love it. Great service too friendly and funny servers.
google avatar

Christy N.

Yelp
The food was decent. I really enjoyed the potato salad and brown sugar bbq beans. The rib tip was nice and juicy. I also tried the chopped chicken which was a little dry for me. But the choices of bbq helped. They range from sweet, mild, hot and extra hot. The ambiance was a bbq shack pub feel. I definitely prefer bbq more on the smoked side and charcoal taste. I was missing that. The service was quick and the gentleman was very helpful with assisting in choosing most popular dishes.

Yelp
TL;DR: good ribs, ok pulled pork, great pickled green beans, good baked beans. Unreliable for takeout (make sure you double check your order) Got takeout from Yazoo, which unfortunately was a disappointment in regards to service. We received only gave us 1 of each side we ordered (ordered 2 of each side) and one order of something we didn't order. The order was late for pick up on a Wednesday (especially surprising for a barbecue establishment, where things are generally pre-prepared for the most part). They then volunteered to give us some free cookies because of running late, but then they didn't include these with our items. The ribs were pretty good, enjoyed the sweet barbecue sauce and golden bbq sauce (medium was just ok), pulled pork was average. Would consider going back but would definitely double check everything before leaving and plan on them running late.

Casper C.

Yelp
The attitude from the two guys was over the top. It is seriously as though they do not want to stay in business. After ordering and receiving our food, not one of the 6 friends I was with were impressed. The brisket was dry and in tiny bits. One of my friends could not tell the difference between brisket and the pork. Would not recommend or go back.

Yelp
BEST bbq in Denver and I am literally addicted to whatever they put into their Mac and Cheese. I swear you can always tell how good a place is just how good their basic sides are and this place did not disappoint. They were nice enough to call me when they ran out of food briskets (which happens everywhere) and immediately replaced it. Amazing service. Amazing food. Amazing restaurant. Cant ask for more :)

Yelp
Reed was an excellent, friendly and helpful waiter at this charming restaurant with a local flavor. It is the BEST BBQ I have ever had!!! The sauces make the experience unique. I wish I could buy some to bring home. Our hotel made sure to tell us it wasn't fancy but it was a welcoming, homey place upstairs. And the aroma of the food makes the decision of what to order very difficult! I eyed a number of peoples' plates and wasn't sure what to get! We ended up ordering the popular "Bobby". It was a little dry but the brisket, beans and coleslaw were epic! We ordered a second round because there were too yummy to pass up. And what can't be left out is the freshly steeped iced tea. It was delicious! So hard to find restaurants that make that special effort these days. I hope we get to go back before our trip is over.

Yelp
Visiting Denver for the first time and this place did not disappoint! A three way combo and 2 sides for less than 20 bucks is unheard of where I'm from!! The portion size is good. The service was great, real friendly folks. The ribs are tender, the brisket is tender and the links are true hot links!! The sauce selection is good with my favorite being the hot, but beware, it ain't for the weak! But all the sauces are tasty. A 10 out of 10 defiantly recommend!!!

Yelp
This place is great if you're on the go and looking to grab a quick lunch near coors field. They have a private parking lot which is amazing, so you can just whip right in there and order at the counter to go and be on your way in no time. The to-go containers are great and make it easy in the event that you're looking to eat a bowl of chopped brisket while driving. A lot of utility in that for sure. Aside from the convenience of easy parking in this area and robust to-go containers, the food itself is pretty good. Everyone has a favorite BBQ spot so and I won't delve into that debate, but this stuff will for sure do the trick and for the price it's tough to beat. Would definitely recommend.

Yelp
It was our first time here last week - and we were very pleasantly surprised by our experience, and wish we had come in sooner! There's plenty of seating both upstairs and downstairs - we chose to sit upstairs where it's full service and there's a full bar. The tables are under a covered area/with openings around the outside of the room that let lots of air in, which was great. Our server/bartender was wonderful - super attentive- took our drink order, brought our drinks over, and took our food order. There's a basket near the stairs that has all of the plates, sauces, etc where you help yourself to what you want. Our food arrived about ten minutes after we ordered. I went with the two meat combo - I selected the ribs and the beef brisket, along with three sides, potato salad, coleslaw, and spicy green beans. All of the food was delicious (and generously portioned). We are excited to come back, and try more of the menu!
google avatar

Steve R.

Yelp
I love this place but they screw up sooo many orders. I keep going back because the food is great and they're usually good about making it right, but I have to double check every order before I leave and I've had more than one delivery missing components. Five stars for food, three stars for consistency and reliability.
google avatar

Matt F.

Yelp
Quick and friendly service! The pulled chicken bbq was very good, and the sauces are all amazing. The sides were also delicious: mac and cheese, pickled spicy green beans, and baked beans. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Monica L.

Yelp
I tried Yazoo for the first time today. It was very good. The ribs were excellent. The hash brown casserole was delicious. You can probably skip the bbq beans. They were pretty basic. I wouldn't make a pilgrimage to go there, but if you are in the area and want bbq, Yazoo is a good choice.
google avatar

Yelp
Called in for pickup, great service and even better BBQ. Half pound pulled pork sandwich and a few sides filled me up for a good price. Will be back!

Yelp
The food is Delicious! Love the kabobs and the potatoes salad! Been going here for quite a while.

Yelp
Some of the best barbecued meat I've had and who knew it would be in Denver lol. This spot is nothing to look at so that's how you know it'll be good and so cheap! I'm used to a plate of bbq being $20-$30 fir one person but not here. We got a pound of rib tips, two sides, 2 meat plate with chicken and ribs and it was $25. Three of use shared it. The sides menu leaves a bit to be desired (no fries, collard greens, Mac and cheese) but maybe that's the southerner in me. The meat makes up for it. The sauces are the icing on the cake. Beware the super hot really is super hot lol. Staff is friendly, bathroom clean, parking in the back.

Yelp
We decided to go with Yazoo BBQ for our wedding. Don was amazing to work with. We went in and tasted all the different options and picked the ribs, pulled pork, brisket, bobs, smoked wings, beans, Mac and cheese, and the pickled green beans. Everyone LOVED it. Most of our guests came from out of state and were blown away by the quality of the BBQ. We had everything planned prior to our big day and Yazoo did not disappoint. They showed up exactly when we agreed on, with everything we ordered. This was a 10/10 experience and I still have people asking me where we got the BBQ from. Thank you to Don and the staff at Yazoo for a seamless catering experience!

Yelp
I've heard about this place for years and finally stopped in. Pretty impressed. Both the pulled pork and the brisket had very good flavor and texture. The half pound sandwiches live up to the stated size, very filling for a reasonable price. I use sauce sparingly, so I appreciate it coming entirely unsauced with several to choose from & do on your own. The hash brown casserole is not super common bbq side, but it pairs great. I assume there's some weird liquor license split explaining why downstairs is counter service with no alcohol while upstairs is a bar with table service. In any case, it's a cool building, garage redone into a restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is located on the outskirts of downtown, near a homeless camp. There is metered street parking nearby the restaurant and they have a private parking lot. The restaurant is relatively large and has two levels. The first level has you counter where you order your food and indoor dining. There is also a sectional garage door on the first level that can be opened up as well. Up the stairs on the second level is where you will find the bar and the covered outdoor patio dining area. They have a full service bar up there, ready to make your favorite cocktail. They have typical barbecue food like ribs, chicken, and pulled pork. There was one exotic menu item that caught my eye, the Bob, so i went with it. They had me at "bacon wrapped". I got a side of beans and peach cobbler to top off my meal. I took my food upstairs and ate on the second level patio. I am glad I did, Ryan was up there working the bar. He was awesome. He pushed this place to 5 stars. My food was pretty good, the Bob was delicious and well seasoned, the beans had a little kick, like I like it and the cobbler was packed with flavor too. This is a decent "Q' joint that is local and has a family feel to it. It is deserving of all the praise it gets and I recommend this place to satisfy your barbecue craving.
google avatar

Mark K.

Yelp
Ribs were great. They didn't even need sauce...but im a sauce guy so I used all the sauces and they were all good. The 1/4 brisket sandwich was huge. It was good. I also tried the link and that was also good. The sides I got were the off menu Mac n cheese that they don't always have but it did the job. Then the hash casserole was good. It lacked a little flavor but was still a good choice in my opinion. The environment upstairs when we went on a early Saturday afternoon was relaxing. Buddha the bartender is chill and attentive. Great customer!
google avatar

Beto C.

Yelp
Get the bob. It's a shush kabob chicken breast with bacon and jalapeño. Your taste buds will literally explode. I mean it's just delish, they have a handful of sauces from sweet to spicy and one that's sweet and spicy. Go for the gold the heat hits you on the after taste. But the hash brown casserole with a rack of ribs, is a must have. I tore it down too.
google avatar

Seth E.

Yelp
The Cole slaw was really good. While the food did look really good the: Rib tips Brisket Chicken 'bobs' Were all dry. The BBQ sauces bland.
google avatar

Patrick C.

Yelp
All in all I'd say the food was fair here. The brisket will be served chopped-up for some reason even after asking the guy behind the counter for slices. Not sure why this is or if they just decided to do that for us. The biggest 2 slaps in the face were how rude and generally discontented the servers acted and treated us and the number of homeless folks hanging out in the restaurant. 2 scruffy dudes behind the counter stood there looking at us and were not friendly at all and lacked general common sense customer service skills. Dude chopped up some meat and threw it on the plate with the meat looking nowhere near appetizing. Not sure where you're from but we don't get brisket chopped up when we order it where I'm from. Any business I run I'd expect my hourly workers to treat diners like royalty.
google avatar

Patrick B.

Yelp
// Summary Let your search for good BBQ take you elsewhere. // Experience I ordered a combo with brisket and 2 ribs with a side of hash brown casserole. The meat was lukewarm and incredibly dry, and if there was any redemption, it would be that there was sauce to help make it palatable. The hash brown casserole could be described as maybe a couple notches above mush. // Service Service was fine in terms of food. There was still like 30-45 minutes left til closing, and one of the guys started mopping up the floors, which gav // Ambiance Not much to look at inside or out. Plenty of tables were available, and there's an upstairs part that I didn't check out, since I was pretty much in a "eat and leave" type of pace. // Convenience Pretty much in downtown, but you have so many other options to choose that would surely be better than this place.

Yelp
BBQ cravings satisfied!! This place was delicious. Super bummed that they don't have Mac & Cheese on their menu but they really make up for it with their hash brown casserole!! I got a 3 meat sampler with potato salad. I wasn't a big fan of the chicken but the brisket was yummy & the ribs were really juicy and tender! They're generous with their portions as well! Drinks were also reasonably prized. If I'm not mistaken our beer on draft was only $5 each!! We arrived around 1pm and got a table immediately, dine in was upstairs with a view (depending on where you choose to sit) lol Super great & welcoming place, they'll have your face & tummy smiling (:

Yelp
Can't believe I've never reviewed this place. Love it here. Been eating at Yazoo for more than 8 years. I enjoy the upstairs bar which is full service. Excellent food. Love their ribs especially and the cheesy potato casserole is absolutely unreal. Good laid back vibe and their sauces are really solid. I recently ordered from here to cater for a large group and all 20 of my people loved it. Can't recommend this place enough. Locally owned, good people, and excellent food.

Jess D.

Yelp
The food is extraordinary!! Well worth the drive downtown. Everything was delicious and look forward to the patio when it warms up!
google avatar

Maria X.

Yelp
Yazoo was amazing!! The BBQ was tender, well seasoned, and so delicious. The portions were great and you can't beat the value. The staff were so friendly and we'll definitely be back. We both got the rib tips and hot damn!
google avatar

Maili B.

Yelp
Service was awesome and friendly. BBQ WAS AMAZING! Everyone at the table, 6 of us, got something different and there were no complaints. Everyone enjoyed their food. We were on a very hot summer day so the doors were not open but I think they can open the large garage doors for a nice outdoor feel.
google avatar

Joy X.

Yelp
The ribs are so tender and the meat is succulent - they give you plenty as well so nobody goes hungry. We got 5-6 hearty ribs and that was my fav. compared to the brisket & although it was good - the ribs were the stars of the show! The mustard sauce was the best one I thought! We thought their sides were not that great - looked up from our seat to the swinging door and saw that the green beans (vinegary) came from big cans. lol They can up their dining by making the sides themselves! Outdoor dining available-too hot for me so we scooted back inside to enjoy the a/c! There's a parking lot attached to the restaurant although it's smallish.

Yelp
Being from Texas it's hard not to compare barbecue anywhere else outside of Texas to our famous Texas barbecue. But I'm not going to do that in this review because it wouldn't be fair, this is Colorado barbecue. The reason for the lower rating has more to do with the aesthetics and the overall feel of the restaurant then it does the actual food itself. We walked in an hour before they closed and it was obvious that we were going to dine in but we given our meals and to go boxes. We both wondered if this was kind of a hint for us not to be eating there since it looked like they were cleaning up and mopping and maybe hoping to get out early? So okay, we go sit down at a table, and I'm a little surprised at what I'm seeing when I open up the to-go box. While I did order barbecue beef, I had hoped or, expected, that it would be sliced barbecue beef. But it was chopped up sandwich style along with the chicken I also ordered. I suppose the chicken and the beef were okay but to me they didn't really taste great. Maybe even a little bit on the dry side. The beans were substandard for my taste only because to me they tasted like canned pork and beans. The potato salad however was a nice surprise and it was actually very tasty. All in all it was an okay experience but not at all what we had hoped for in the way of some really good barbecue that we're used to down here in Texas. It was our first time eating barbecue in Colorado so take this review with a grain of salt from someone who comes from what we consider the barbecue capital of the world, Texas.

Yelp
THE BOMB! Bad to the bone, literally. The food was insanely amazing, Dan hooked me up with a good serving of some of the best BBQ i've ever had. 10/10
google avatar

Goldstein G.

Yelp
I should have left when I ordered brisket and the guy behind the counter began to chop it up... but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. Bad. Brisket should always be sliced and even better if they ask you "lean or fatty" Hot links were dry and chewy. Ribs were dry and chewy.... Hash brown casserole was just plain weird. Chips on top of it? So bizarre. Coleslaw was just bland wasn't salted at all. Potato salad was about as good as getting it from the grocery store deli. Avoid this place. It is in a good location that's the only thing they have going for them. The two guys behind the counter looked and talked like they couldn't wait to go home You have a lot of work to do yazoo. Your business will fail.

Marla D.

Yelp
Wow! My husband and I came here with another couple. We chose to sit upstairs where there's a full bar. The bartender (maybe Angel ?) was awesome! He had a couple other tables sit at the same time we did. Even with that, he was attuned to all of our needs. We all loved our food and had the ribs, brisket, chicken and hash brown casserole. Ohhhh, the hash brown casserole...shredded potatoes, melty cheese and pure deliciousness. The chicken and brisket were tender and very flavorful. We ended up with a bunch of ribs that we ate for dinner the next night. Oh, don't forget the sauce. All but one of them are made in house and were bomb!! Will definitely come back.
google avatar

Hillary D.

Yelp
Came here with 3 people and ordered a full rack of ribs and 2 sides which was a perfect amount of food. Enjoyed all of the sauces and especially the potato chip and cheese casserole. Baked beans had a slight kick to them. Good beer and cocktail selection. Need to come back to try bobs chicken which sells out early..
google avatar

Vesper G.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place! I love being able to support my local flavor. Their ribs and their cheesy hash brown casserole are my favs but everything is sooooo good. Everyone is always so friendly and so willing to help. It's very refreshing this day and age when a lot of servers are very entitled. Well I guess the customers are too these days, aren't they? (Previous server lol) Anyhow this crew is wonderful and they serve delicious barbecue. Please continue to support local and definitely check them out! Thanks guys for always making delicious barbecue for me.
google avatar

Adam M.

Yelp
3.5 stars Reasonably priced, pretty good bbq with a tangy spicy sauce. I thought the chicken was a little dried out and would've liked to have seen some lunch combos offered.
google avatar

Joe M.

Yelp
I stopped in for some dinner since the Great Divide brewery nearby didn't serve food. Unfortunately, the first thing anyone notices is the homeless camp essentially surrounding the place. You have to look past that and venture in. The staff was phenomenal! They were extremely friendly and helpful. I chatted with the bartender about everything related to Denver the entire time I was there. Couldn't have been nicer. Now for the food...I had the 1/4 lb. chopped chicken sandwich. It was excellent! Fresh chicken chopped to order. Their sauces were not awesome, but good. Overall, I had a great meal and great conversation. Definitely worth a visit.

Lauren B.

Yelp
We ordered a catering order for a work function and everyone loved it! I love that they have ribs ready to go ad well as all the great sauces and sides. We got brisket as well that was very well prepared. They also delivered it for our back yard bbq and were very professional. Can't wait to order again!

Yelp
My husband and I drove 14 hours from Arkansas to Colorado for Christmas with our family. When we got to town, we wanted to eat a good meal. We love good BBQ and are often disappointed in BBQ away from the South.. We searched for a BBQ place and the minute we saw the name "Yazoo BBQ" in the list, being from Arkansas, we're familiar with Yazoo City, Mississippi. We loved the atmosphere immediately. We were upstairs and the bartender was super friendly and informative about how the business came to be. Everything was delicious and reminded us of some of our favorite BBQ back home. They use a dry rub but have some great sauces; they just aren't needed. Most definitely get "The Bob" by and you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Two words: Awful BBQ. I was in Denver on a brief vacation from Houston and I decided to try some authentic Colorado BBQ. What a big mistake this was. The first strange thing I noticed was how violently the guy behind the counter was chopping the brisket. That told me right off the rip that it might be tough. Also, he didn't seem too welcoming either. No smile, no warm welcome....nothing. Im not going to spend too much time on this review because this place was quite underwhelming. I purchased the two meat plate with Brisket and sausage. The brisket was dry, the pickled green beans weren't good. The hashbrown casserole was the only thing that saved the plate. It was actually pretty tasty. I don't know if the BBQ was bad or if I'm just spoiled by Texas BBQ. Whatever the case, I'll never come back to Yazoo whenever I'm in the city.
