The Best Korean Barbecue in NYC | Eater NY

"Yuk Jun Gui is the rare Korean barbecue spot that not only barbecues fresh eel but does so over a wood-fired grill. Those who’ve only tasted eel slathered with the viscous nitsume sauce at sushi spots are in for a treat, with the crisp skin and a dipping sauce of sesame oil with coarse rock salt. The restaurant’s other meats — short rib, bulgogi, offal — are grilled superbly and served with the standard ssamjang and a parade of banchan." - Caroline Shin

19 Standout Korean Restaurants in Murray Hill, Queens | Eater NY

"One of the first restaurants in the area is Yuk Jun Gui, and although it offers all the barbecue classics, it specializes in a rarity outside of Korea: grilled eel. Here, it’s cooked over a wood fire by an eemo (auntie) who’s deft with her grilling, knowing exactly when to flip each filleted chunk to the other side. The outcome is perfection: eel that’s meaty, slightly springy, and quite smoky with a char all around the exterior. As with the more mainstream beef barbecue, create lettuce wraps with it. But also leave room for daechang (intestine). The eemo also grills this superbly, creating chewy and super fatty, melt-in-your-mouth pieces with a golden crust." - Caroline Shin

This is a real gem of a place. Delicious Korean food in a non pretentious environment. Husband and wife runs this amazing homemade, home cooked style homey restaurant. Best food and service, period. They really make you feel cared for when you dine here. Friendly, non attitude and always service with a smile. I loved the authentic Korean dishes served here, especially their banchan accompaniment which is very addictive. Will definitely come back and enjoy more of their reasonably priced set menus. What a friendly and hospitable husband and wife team! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Google
The best Korean restaurant! They give you huge bowls of homemade fresh kimchi. My favorite was the eel bbq. 10/10 would come back ❤️

Great place! Loved the 콩나물, 계란찜, and the 삼겹살. The vibes of the restaurant made me feel like I was back in Korea. I would come back again!

SO SO SO GOOOOOD! In my opinion, this is the best Korean BBQ spot in Flushing. Tried marinated crabs today and devoured everything in 10mins. The auntie who works there is always so kind and generous, especially with the side dishes. The kimchi is so good that I literally bought it to eat with eggs everyday for breakfast. I highly recommend this place to everyone!!

Google
I had to edit my previous review. Their foods taste great! I had live eels and some beef internal organ things bbq. Sounds yuck but they cook it then bring out so you only see the good result of it. Everything tasted awesome. When you sit in their table it feels like you are in some kind of old korean drama.

Google
This is absolutely the best Korean food I had in flushing area. The beef intestine and duck meat just BBQed good. Tender, fresh, and good flavor. The granny gave a lot of veggies dishes and kimchi. The brown rice is recommended too. I cannot expect more. Definitely come back. 推荐!

Yelp
Woman working here is so friendly and provided wonderful service! The food was tasty and delicious. 10/10 would come back to this spot!

Yelp
I highly recommend this restaurant because the food and service were amazing. Let's start with a story of me wearing a short dress and kind lady who worked there who was so worry for me that she provided me a jacket and pillow to use to cover my legs. She made sure that the food was good and that I was warm enough. The service was definitely 100/100. The ambiance wasn't anything special but it was comfy and gives off a homely vibe. The food was good but a tad expensive. They precooked the meals on a separate grill which was nice so we didn't really had any bbq smell on our bodies. They provided a wide choices of side dishes and all quite tasty. The fresh eel was excellent and definitely should be ordered. It was fresh and chewy (good type of chewy). It matched well with many of the sides they provided. The gopchang was also very good. It was perfectly crisp. At the end, they gave us lollipops. They were so good. 100% definitely to go again even if it is pricey

Yelp
We were a party of 6 adults and 1 kid, got seated quickly on a Friday night. We picked this restaurant primarily because of their eel and other menu selection that's not available served at others. The food was unremarkable, not my favorite but wasn't the best either. Mostly were cooked by a person on a butane burner stove, a little deceiving since we see pics of charcoal stoves, but I guess it is understandable to expedite the cooking. Yelp
Quality of meat not great as expected. Service is mediocre at best. Never got my rice, kimchi, and soy bean soup. Assumes you're done eating and doesn't come by the table. All the small dishes were terrible. Ttukboki, dumpling, ggimari, burnt steam egg. Save your money. Go somewhere else.

Yelp
Save your money and go to Hmart and buy yourself some marinated meat. This place is insanely overpriced. Five friends and I went and paid $30 each for maybe 1-2 person's portion of meat total. The gimmick here is the charcoal grill, but heres the thing: ITS NOT EVEN COOKED ON CHARCOAL!?! Someone cooks it on the side with a propane grill and then uses the charcoal grill on your table to keep the cooked meat heated, except the charcoals arent even hot or steamed enough to give the pre-cooked meat any charcoal flavor. If you want to pay a premium to have someone cook overpriced meat on a propane grills and then barely heated on charcoal... be my guest. But i would rather save my money and get a year's worth of marinated meat from Hmart instead. Not sure where all these positive reviews are coming from, but i would not recommend this place. There was a reason it was dead empty on a Saturday night when I went. Food: 2.5/5 Ambience: 3/5 Value: -10/5 Service: 2.5/5

Yelp
One of my new fave kbbq place. There's a sentiment that more authentic, more affordable korean bbq lies in Queens and this place is one of those spots that really drives this home, especially the authenticity. Loved our dinner here, and especially after having dined at michelin-bib rated kbbq places in the city, I would choose this place every single time instead. BANCHAN - plentiful, includes the steamed egg, and there were like 8+ different banchan provided to us. Yum. SEAFOOD PAJEON - fluffy, lightly crispy, and the sauce they serve it with here is the most bold-flavored sauce I've ever had at a restaurant serving this. So flavorful, chewy, lightly frittery in its exterior. Great stuff, COMBO 7 - 3 meats, soju, kimchijjigae included. SO worth it. the meat is cooked separately at one of their many bbq grills in the interior and then brought over to you, kept warm in a portable grill that they attach into your table and have little mini pans with the meat. The grilled eel was delicious and frittery crispy. Ssamjang and house oil are a banging success. Perilla leaf and lettuce to wrap the meat in, and freshly peeled garlic and jalapeno for you throw into the pans for even more flavor. Ginger is there as well for your wraps. DELICIOUS - especially the perilla leaf! Don't see this at too many other places. SOY SAUCE CRAB - buttery, creamy raw crab for you to grab with a glove and squeeze the meat out. Consider getting rice to put into the actual bodies of the crab to soak up that flavor. COLD BUCKWHEAT NOODLE IN BEEF BROTH Refreshingly chewy, umami, and perfect for an end-of-meal finisher to cool off a bit. Complimentary dalgona lollipops at the end of dinner are a nice touch.

Yelp
We walked by this restaurant and decided to have a light dinner after having shaved-ice nearby on a hot day. This is a typical casual KBBQ joint with pretty good charcoal BBQ and good service. We ordered the Kalbi and Squid, both good quality and quite tasty. A neighborhood gem, so glad we gave it a shot and we will be back with friends to try different meats/items next time.

Yelp
Yuk Jun Gui is a Korean BBQ restaurant that specializes for fresh eel. It is a small restaurant located in Queens. Serves a generous amount of side dishes and steamed egg as well as stew. I really enjoy their gopchang.

Yelp
Alrighty, folks, it's time for me to dish out the deets on this hidden gem of a Korean BBQ spot. Tucked away from the main street flushing area, you'll find a fantastic old school joint that specializes in eel BBQ. And let me tell you, it's worth the trip just for the eel. This isn't your average run-of-the-mill kbbq joint, folks. They grill over live charcoal, which is about as traditional as it gets. But that's not all, my hungry friends. The food in general is top-notch, with a variety of meats available for kbbq, including some more difficult-to-find options like duck, tripe, intestine, and quail. Of course, they've got your traditional galbi and pork belly covered too. And if you're not feeling like grilling, they've got stir-fried and other dishes to tantalize your taste buds. And don't even get me started on the raw marinated crab, which is made in-house and seasonal. To really get the full experience, go for one of their set menus, which even includes soup and soju. Now, let's talk sides. We all know that some kbbq places skimp out on the banchan (side dishes), but not this place. They've got over 10 types of banchan and refills are free, just like at other Korean restaurants. Last but not least, let's give a shoutout to the friendly service at this joint. Although most of the patrons are Korean, the servers and owner speak English and will happily direct you. So what are you waiting for? Make the trip out and give this place a try. You won't regret it.

Yelp
Came all the way out to Queens with some friends to see if the KBBQ here is truly superior to what we've had in KTown or other places. To be honest, while the food was good, I wasn't as blown away as I was expecting to be, nor was the food as cheap per person as we expected from Queens. We paid probably around $43 each for a rather small amount of meat for 6 people and a lot of banchan. So much banchan they couldn't fit it all in the table. Good quality meat over all, especially the eels which are kept live in house, but I do feel like I have had better at other places. Service was also a bit slow as we were kind of outside the main restaurant in an extra closed tented space near the entrance. All that said I still recommend the place, I just think if you are like us and a queens trip will take a long time, you probably want to find the best of the best and this isn't quite at that level. I will give the place props for the ambiance and setting though, it was definitely a nice and cozy setup, which does add a lot to a long kbbq sesh.

Yelp
1st time here & it was really difficult finding the place on yelp since I couldn't figure out how to spell it in English. Anyway, we were given 10 banchan in total. They gave chili with anchovies (anchovies were super spicy thanks to the split chili, wish it was only anchovies), fish cake, zucchini, kimchi (not too fermented, crisp, yum), cabbage in soy sauce, cucumber kimchi I think, potato in soy based sauce, & onion & potato kimchi I think. I liked everything else. When we finished the banchan tho, I was surprised they didn't ask if we wanted refills. Later, they gave us super long, super fermented kimchi. It was really hard to pick up since it was so long & I also choked on it & thought I was gonna die cuz it wasn't going down my throat. So, we asked for scissors & were provided with them but the kimchi was too fermented for our taste so we ended up not eating it anyway. I got sundubu jjigae which is described as mildly spicy on the menu. I asked for it to be less spicy, but I was given no spice at all. It was white which isn't a huge deal since I added the kimchi sauces from all the banchan but I stil wuda liked it a bit spicier. The server misunderstood I guess, which is fine since it happens. The jjigae itself was decent. I still prefer Mapo bbq. I was expecting rice & the egg soufflé with the jjigae tho, none of which were provided. I was really surprised they didn't even provide rice with it. They did give us a fermented bean sprout dish later which I didn't like. I just think the flavor was weird. My friend got japchae which was much butter than I expected. Every other place I've had japchae at, it was so bland. I really liked this japchae but I just wish it wasn't so sweet. For dessert, they gave us water melon & dalgona lollipop both of which were really sweet & really good. This was my 1st time trying dalgona candy & it had a rather smoky flavor I wasn't expecting which helped it taste less sweet than it wuda otherwise. Dessert was much appreciated & but I do suggest they provide rice with any jjigae & ask if ppl want banchan refills.

Esther K.

Yelp
I've been here twice and the food is always fresh and the service is always warm. The eel was so soft and my friend said the daechang is the best here.

Yelp
Amazing service Amazing entree Side dishes are all homemade & so much variety Great ambiance! felt like korea. This is a hidden gem you do not want everyone to know! but got to share :)

Yelp
Excellent service and even better food. Loved the soup and the bbq beef was out of this world. Sorry I didn't add any photos, as I was too busy eating and could only show you empty plates.

Yelp
Party of 5 came at 1pm on a Sunday and we were the only ones. It was freezingggg (inside). The restaurant only has heat fans but leaves both doors open. There seems to only be one waiter who was kind of not attentive. We were given a pot of tea which was never refilled. We ordered -Japchae: 4/5 on the sweeter side -naengmyeon: 3/5 it's definitely more vinegar-y than I've eaten (preference based) -grilled eel, grilled beef and squid: 4/5 the flavor was good, came with a side of scallions/onions/etc. and lettuce to wrap it in They grill it outside and then bring it in on a pot of coals which is when it got warmer but toes were still popsicles. I can't say I'd definitely recommend it especially with Hahm Ji Bach not even 2 blocks away but maybe it's better in the spring/summer?

Yelp
Very busy, but it was okay. We visited on friday night. Lots of people. The server checked our vaccination card and let us in. Brought us water and disposable cup. We ordered set #2. Eel and 2 kinds of intestine. The side dishes were so great! I loved all the side dishes. They refilled when we asked. Their eggplant dish is so good. They served us the cooked eel and intestine. I really wish that they cooked it on the chargoal grill, but they pre-cooked them on a gas grill, then served us. I really wish they just cooked on the charcoal grill, but it might be because of the pandemic. Lots of other korean bbq places do the same. Food was great! It was cooked well. Very fresh. They have 3 different sauce (ssamjang, sesame oil and salt, spicy sauce with garlic and pepper), so try all! They all make different taste. If you want some real korean pocha style restaurant. This is it!

Yelp
This is probably my personal favorite KBBQ spot, because it is genuinely the IYKYK (If You know you know) local joints of Murray Hill, Queens (the Koreatown of Queens). They specialize in grilling live eels, along with other kbbq meats (pork, beef, chicken varieties). I personally get the Set #2 (serves 2-3 people), which includes Live Eel, abomasum (beef stomach), and gopchang (beef intestine). It also includes two korean jigaes (soups), kimchi jiage & Doenjang-jjigae (soybean), and 2 bottles of soju of your choice (personally i pay a bit extra and get the blue bottle brand Jinro.....thank me later). After you order, they prepare hot coals and the grill for your table to cook the meats. The best part is the waitstaff completely bombards you with a plethora of various banchan (small side dishes) to compliment your meal!. You will have so much food, you will definitely have trouble to maneuver to eat (...talk about first-world problems) Every time I'm here with family & family, they loved this place a lot and left very satisfied with full bellies. There is a reason this place remained at its corner spot in Queen's Koreatown for all these years. You won't hear about this spot unless you go out of the way to try it!

Yelp
I came here twice now and it has always been a pleasant experience. Not only is the staff great but the food as well! My sister and I are obsessed with all the lovely innards like Gopchang (small intestine), Daechang (large intestine), and Makchang (abomasum). We've tried different places that offer all of these and this place definitely hits the spot! We dined in their outdoor seating area when we came. Once you order your food, they'll bring out charcoal fire and set it right at the table. They will also bring out different types of banchan. Each time we came here, they also provided steamed eggs and soybean soup (Dwenjang jjigae). The staff brought out the different orders on aluminum foil shaped into a bowl. They placed lettuce on the bowls before placing the meats on top of them. They then placed them onto the charcoal grill. It was precooked so all we had to do was place the meat onto the grill and give it finishing touch. The nice smoky flavor was so delicious. I can definitely say that the Makchang was tender and soft, unlike other nearby places that I have been to. My only wish is that they have fried rice, but it's not a necessity. I would like to go back and try their grilled eel! I heard this dish is one of the things that they are known for.

Yelp
We visited Yuk Jun Gui randomly and we love this place so much. Their sides were in a great variety with steamed egg and raw crab which are charged additionally in other restaurants. We had their Combo of Pork Belly, Beef Intestine and Duck with a single order of Bulgogi to share with a group of two. The portion was great so we ended up packing all our leftover and it's even enough for another meal. The quality of meat and how the staff grilled them was decent and our favorites were the duck, which was juicy & tender and the beef institute, which was perfect with their special sauce. However, the pork belly and bulgogi were kind of dry and hard to chew.
google avatar

Uyen N.

Yelp
The food was amazing. They have really good fresh grilled eel. Their intestine, pork belly and beef were well-seasoned. However, their quail and bulgogi are so-so. The soup was ok while the cold noodle was tasty. We wanted to try the raw marinated crab but they didn't have it; it depends on the day whether they can buy fresh ones in the market or not. They have unlimited banchan and lettuce for free. The soju is really cheap here. There is only 1 table size so it's a little small for 6.
google avatar

Mely P.

Yelp
This place was amazing. Made a reservation by calling the restaurant. Upon entering, they sprayed our hands and the bottom of our shoes with sanitizing spray. Ordered the marinated beef galbi, pork belly and pork ribs and everything was perfection! My fave was the marinated galbi because it literally melted in my mouth. The pork belly was perfectly crispy. The charcoal fire gave the meat an amazing flavor that you can't really get in most kbbq places. The amount of banchan we got was insane. We had a table for four and not everything fit on our table. Banchan including things like steamed egg, dwengjang soup, bean sprouts, kimchi, various veggies, fish cake, etc! Unfortunately, there was a shortage of eel when we went but that's definitely my #1 menu item I want to try next time. The guy who served us was attentive and friendly. Really nothing to negative to say regarding the service. This may be my new fave kbbq spot! It's a little pricey but you can get away with ordering two orders of meat and be satisfied especially with all the side dishes! Also you get to support a local restaurant which is never a bad thing!!
google avatar

Naixin C.

Yelp
Portion has gone smaller but quality remains good. As a mom and pop shop, the flavors are just about "correct". I can't make the right flavored bean sprouts and jigae like them. Won't recommend getting the gopchang stew - I still prefer them grilled.
google avatar

Cindy W.

Yelp
OMG! Best Korean BBQ experience! First, was the service - The staff went above and beyond to ensure there is always food and drinks in front of us. This reminds me of dining in Asia. Second, outdoor dining was so much fun. The setup here allows you to actually grill the meat outdoor, as opposed to eating cooked meat much like the setup in k-town. Lastly, the food was amazing. We ordered the set menu (grilled eel and beef), which came with bunch of side dishes as well as 2 bottles of soju and beer. Needless to say, this was a lot of food for 4 adults. I never had grilled eel in the past and now that's all I could think about it! Come here for lunch and that's pretty much the only meal you'd need. The restaurant is located right by the LIRR station, which makes commuting from Mahattan super fast and easy.

Yelp
Truly amazed at the food served at Yuk Jun GUI! Service was 5 stars they tuck you away in a corner with ventilation ! In the cold winter day at 35 degrees F yet the warmth of the Open grill warmed us up along with the soup, warm egg custard and spicy kimchi! We ordered the 2+2 which feeds more than 4 people- The order included 2 orders of fresh eel ( the fish tank with fresh eel was inside the restaurant) 2 orders of kalbi 2 orders of spicy bean soup 2 orders of steamed egg custard 2 soju This deal was awesome ! We had unlimited kimchi and all the sides and trimming needed to make the perfect bite! The eel was sweet and tender - let's just say super tender The kalbi was cooked to perfection! This is the place to be with a few friends and a long night out - highly recommended Take the LIRR to Murray hill and enjoy great food ! Parking is tight so be prepared to spend time looking for a spot!

Yelp
A very nice hidden gem. The combos are amazing and the eels were amazing. Good spot to eat and chill. The owner was super nice and friendly.

Yelp
This place is such a gem! Walked in on a Friday night and was able to get seats for a party of 4. Everything we had was good. We got the cold noodles, spicy cold noodles, and set #7 which includes grilled FRESH EEL, beef ribs, and marinated pork. Never knew fresh grilled eel can be so good until I tried it here! Its crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and goes very well with some pickled ginger. The beef ribs and marinated pork were also delicious, cooked and marinated well. I would say the eel is a must try here if you haven't had it before. The regular cold noodles and the spicy cold noodles were also really good and refreshing. Tip: Don't get the charcoal grill set up on your table. Since the tables are small and they give a lot of side dishes, you will not have space for your food if you get the grill set up on your table. The meats will also overcook as they leave it on the grill after they cook it at your table. Instead, you can have them cook the meats using the store grill and bring it to your table.
google avatar

Ash Y.

Yelp
Thought this place was really good because of the reviews but it was ok. Just very very very expensive for the servings. $40 LIVE eel but you only get a couple pieces. $200 check but no one was full. There is definitely better kbbq around the area.

Yelp

Yelp
Hands down, one of the best kbbq places I've ever had! I was surprised when I noticed they use charcoal grill but it was such a great experience. The amount of banchans they gave were overwhelming. It could barely fit all on the table. We ordered 2 marinated galbi, pork belly and pork ribs. My favorite was the marinated galbi, it was so tender and flavorful we had to order a second order. The staffs were very attentive and super sweet. Overall, I'm definitely coming back!!

Jane L.

Yelp
I was drawn to this place because I had heard that they use charcoal grills, which is not very common anymore among KBBQ places (here or in Korea). As another reviewer mentioned, it was a little disappointing to realize that (due to what I assume is a staffing shortage), the meat is not actually grilled at your table anymore. It comes out already grilled and then is kept warm on the table grill. I can understand why they may no longer be able to grill at the tables given that there appeared to be only one person doing the cooking (and she did it amazingly). Perhaps it also had to do with the fact that it was a busy weekend night. All of that being said, the food itself is perfection. All of it. They are very generous with their many different types of banchan. Their egg jjim and daenjang jigae are very flavorful and hold their own as side dishes, and the meat is delicious. Perfectly charred but still so tender and juicy. It is a no frills place with paper plates and disposable chopsticks, so if you're looking for a higher end place, this is not it. But if you want a satisfying, delicious, home cooked meal and good, friendly service, you will not be disappointed.

Simon L.

Yelp
First attempt on trying to come here on Summer '22 it was so packed me and my wife couldn't get in. Today on the new year of '23 we finally get to try! This place has amazing food service and a bunch of assorted side dishes. The bbq meats are premium quality and you definitely taste the quality in each bite. Its a must try to come here!

Yelp
Great place for fresh eel bbq and gopchang bbq with some soju. I was craving something different and this hit the spot! Don't drive here if planning on drinking . Dengjangjjigae and steamed eggs come as part of the meal. Very happy with this place.
google avatar

Ferd K.

Yelp
Came here for the fresh eel bbq and it didn't disappoint. The gentleman serving us and grilling the eel & pork belly for us was friendly and attentive. They're side dishes are traditional and reminded me of types of dishes you would eat in the country side. The pork belly and eel were grilled perfectly and went well with the scallion salad and fresh ginger. Between my husband and I, we got two servings of the eel and one serving of the pork belly and it was the perfect amount. The outdoor seating is well ventilated with lots of windows that open in case it gets hot and stuffy. Will def come back here when craving fresh eel bbq.

Yelp
This our new favorite Korean BBQ place. We ordered marinated beef kalbi, fresh eel, pork belly and cold noodle in broth. The marinated beef kalbi was really good. I'm not a fish person but it was very fresh for those who likes fish. The pork belly was decent as well. More importantly, the flavor was excellent in everything from Kim chi to all the complimentary side dishes and soup. We will definitely be back again with family and friends!

Yelp
This place looks great but unfortunately doesn't tastes good. We got a lot of banchan but that was the best part for the night. First of all, they claim they use charcoal, but they cook the meat on the electronic grill, then bring to the pot, on a charcoal platform. What?? I went to so many Korean restaurants and I never seen that. Second, we ordered a combo with 3 different m meats, beef, gopchang and eel. They bring everything at the same time. It was such a rush so everything end up burned a little bit. Not to mention each kind of meet was around 10 pieces. We paid over 130 to get 30 pieces of meet. How come it' more expensive than sushi? Last, the service was such a mess. We ordered rice and lettuce. After 15 minutes, we almost finished eating. And they apparently forget the order. We want to ask the servers and no one even pay attention to the customers. I will say it's a really disappointed place to Koreans. They food doesn't tastes bad. It's just not worth it. Oh, and next time please clean the food, because we tasted a rock in the gopchang.

Yelp
The service and food is good. If you are meat lover, you can consider this place. Our waitress kept us safe by spray disinfectant on the bottom of our sneakers and offer hand sanitizer as well. During lunch, it's kinda quiet. Although the pandemic really hurt restaurant business nowadays, I'll continue to support them .

Yelp
Hidden gem in flushing! Love their fresh eel bbq but you also gotta try their mak chang. Simply the best! I always end the meal with marinated beef BBQ. Yummy... can't wait to go back!

Yelp
I was really excited to try this place out, the food did not disappoint at all. However, the service was very lacking. We ordered set #5 which came with the eel, pork belly and the squid. The charcoal grill was cool and nice but there's no switch to turn it down. So we ordered the squid and it was left there cooking for a while and it suddenly exploded, the oil and sauce splattered all over us, our clothes are all ruined and my friend got burnt. We told the server that happened and he did not seem to care at all. We asked for napkin they only gave us a few not even enough to clean ourselves up and no apologies whatsoever. We understand that it's not their fault that it's exploded but at least they should come check on the grill once a while if we don't have the ability to turn it off. It's a big safety issue. Moreover, it took a long time to wait for someone to give us the check. The food was very good, unfortunately we will not go back because of the poor service.

Yelp
We came here just before covid and had such great experience so we finally made it back! We live over an hour and half drive away - totally worth the drive. Very authentic place, well known for eel and other grills. What makes the experience even better is how friendly the owner is, with constantly flowing side dishes on the house. We will be back!

Yelp
Tried for the first time for mom's bday this past Saturday (early) evening. Interior is pretty rundown and mom was not too thrilled at first BUT after trying the food, she fell in love. We had a variety including eel, galbi, intestines. All were very very good. I would highly recommend. Staff were all super friendly as well.

Yelp
Awesome place that truly feels authentic to Korea. The food is very traditional. The service is fantastic and the owner is very very polite and caring as well. I think it is a small family business with old school korean recipes. Give it a try. You won't regret it.

Yelp
A small Korean restaurant with great food and service. We were a large party of 8, so we sat outside in their hut, and had it all to ourselves. The kalbi, pork belly, and side dishes were all delicious!! And the service was really terrific! This is a family run business- mom is the hostess, dad is the chef, and their 2 sons are wait staff, helping their parents out. So not only did we enjoy the food, it was really nice to be able to help support small business.

Yelp
Worst service I've ever had, if you're trying it for the first time and trying to ask some questions, you better be prepared to receive an "oh my god" from the waitress, we ordered pork belly and eel and beef intestines, no Anything served over charcoal fire with sliced pork belly and beef intestines without any explanation, it was our first time and I was thinking this is what is called a BBQ? It's better that I eat at home, so I asked the waitress if this is not eaten while roasting, and the waitress said of "course not, is it your first time to eat with us, OMG!" like we r stupid...Halfway through, because the waitress didn't turn on the exhaust fan, the room was full of smoke. she came to us and told us that there was only so much smoke because of us. My God, didn't she forget to turn on the exhaust fan? If you are mentally prepared for the above and you If you really want to try grilled eel, this may be a good choice. Don't order the pork belly that is not worth it. It's really not as good as the pork belly you bought from Hmart. And you haven't seen a fresh raw pork belly with your own eyes, you can't be sure if this pork belly has not been eaten at other tables.
