"You can't visit this part of the world without tasting some local cheese, and Loleta Cheese Factory is a designated stop on the California Cheese Trail. (Yes, the Cheese Trail is a real thing!) At this small shop you can sample over 30 varieties, and if cheese is being made on your visit (they don't do it every day, sadly), you can watch the process through a large glass window at the back of the store. There is also a grilled-cheese bar, Queso Kings (named for one of Loleta's lines of cheese), out back. It sells sweet and savory grilled-cheese combos and boasts an espresso bar for those who need some caffeine with their casein. There's seating inside, though most people picnic in the garden. There's even a scavenger hunt for the kids."
