"One of Guadeloupe’s largest recreational nature parks, stretching a little over 12 acres, Jardins de Valombreuse is set on lush Basse-Terre and offers a family escape amid a manicured landscape of tropical plants and flowers flanked by rain forest. A guided hour-and-a-half hike offers insight on native and imported flora, as well as bird spotting, and ends with a swimming stop at a small, pristine waterfall located deep inside the park. Aside from the gardens, the park offers plenty to occupy the little ones, from an aquatic playground where children can tumble around in their bathing suits to an indoor recreation space filled with games. On-site is a restaurant as well as an equestrian center offering horseback riding lessons to children and adults of all ages."
