"Opened in 2022 on historical Métis river lots, this 40-room boutique lodge and adjacent Cultural Gathering Centre were designed by Métis architect Tiffany Shaw to evoke Métis river lot buildings; guest rooms feature Métis-style patchwork quilts and the lodge interior includes a large fireplace and a taxidermied white bison. The property offers year-round cultural programming—traditional art workshops, star viewing, voyageur canoe tours—and amenities such as a café, campground, sky-watching domes, cross-country ski trails and a skating rink. The nearby Visions, Hopes, and Dreams wildlife park showcases rare white bison, wood bison, plains bison, elk and Percheron horses, while the Cultural Gathering Centre houses a restaurant and gift shop and anchors community-focused experiences." - Debbie Olsen
