"At the edge of Saint-Germain-des-Prés I appreciated Grand Hôtel Cayré’s art-deco splendor, a Jazz Age corner property on Boulevard Raspail and Rue du Bac that was fully renovated in 2024 under general manager Mickael Meunier. Interior architect Michaelis Boyd dressed the rooms with antique mirrors, embroidered fabrics, art-deco–style lamps and crystal chandeliers, while the art-filled Annette restaurant aims to be a neighborhood institution under chef Bruno Brangea. I enjoyed the Officine Bac (the Dispensary), a sexy drinking den where Oscar Blackstone creates botanically inspired cocktails, and noted practical touches like a gym and a “refresh room” for red-eye arrivals. The original staircase features a sky fresco by Mathias Kiss, two standout suites include all-inclusive minibars and Eiffel Tower views, and L’appartement du Collectionneur on the seventh floor doubles as a rotating showroom of 20th- and 21st-century furniture you can buy." - Lindsey Tramuta, Mary Winston Nicklin
