"Origens is a jewel-box restaurant tucked down one of Évora’s charming side streets. Blink, and you might miss it—though you certainly wouldn’t want to. Inside, a tufted leather booth lines the wall and thoughtful artwork makes the space feel like a home. The menu keeps sustainability front and center and uses local produce, meats, and cheeses; dishes rotate almost daily, but they're always centered around regional Évora cuisine. Cold melon soup, seared duck breast with local herbs, and creamy black sea rice with cuttlefish and lemon are all stellar examples." - Jenna Scatena
