"What’s the vibe at this place? The spa is almost exactly what you'd expect to find at the upscale, Craftsman-style Lodge at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, occupying a corner of the property and half-hidden by well-manicured lawns and gardens. Patterned, wall-to-wall carpeting lines the lounge area, where you can kick back on a white chaise lounge while you wait for your treatment. Take us into the room. How was the session itself? Massages and wraps incorporate seaweed, Argan oil, and the resort's signature lemongrass and sage blend for a soothing, restorative experience. Skin sessions range from the more traditional facials, to lip- and eye-specific treatments. Spring for one of the luxe exfoliation treatments, so long as you're fine with being nearly naked (a small towel covers the necessary areas). While your body gets buffed, warm water from five shower heads rinses your skin. Nice. What about after the treatment? There are separate locker rooms for men and women, along with dry saunas, herbal-infused steam rooms, aromatherapy inhalation rooms, and a relaxation lounge with sofa chairs and a fireplace. Showers are spacious, and the vanity area is stocked with deodorant, Q-tips, hair dryers, curling irons, hair spray, and Moroccan oil amenities. Not too shabby. There's isn't a spa-specific wet area, but all spa-goers have access to the resort's outdoor pool and Jacuzzi, which overlooks the golf course. What do they do best here, then?
