"The first thing you do when you enter Titsou Bar (or at least the first thing my best friend and I did) is squint around for famous faces. The intimate cocktail bar, hidden away behind an unassuming door in Fouquet’s New York’s Art Deco lobby, feels like one of the most exclusive spaces in a city that thrives on the “if you know, you know” mindset. Designed to feel like a Parisian speakeasy plucked out of the 1920s, most patrons can be found having hushed tête-à-têtes while sitting in the plush pink-and-purple chairs surrounding a smattering of low tables, or the swiveling leather stools that line the striking marble bar. Every conversation looks important, and the creative cocktails mixed up by the bartenders match the tone—we skipped the $40 dry martini and opted for picks from the “Bold and Aromatic” and “Refreshing” sections of the menu (you’ll also find “Spicy,” “Rich,” “Smokey,” and “Sours,” as options). The Lychee Rosé was my personal favorite, swimming with fresh-pressed lychee, Ketel One, and a little Aperol. It cleansed my palate and then some after sampling more than a few of the light bites, which you should absolutely leave room for if you visit. The spicy tuna crispy rice and short rib popovers were to die for, and the truffle fries soaked up any excess alcohol with ease." - CNT Editors
