"Beauty's, a retro-style luncheonette in Le Plateau Mont-Royal, has been a staple on Montreal's culinary scene since 1942. Founder Hymie Sckolnick passed away late last year at age 96, and up until a few months before his death he was greeting eager customers at the door. Today, Beauty’s is run by his son Larry and his daughters Julie and Elana, who continue to deliver the same quality and heart that made the business a Montreal institution. Breakfast is available all day, every day, and signature dishes include the “Mish-Mash,” an omelette featuring salami, hot dogs, green peppers, and fried onions, and the “Beauty’s Special,” an iconic concoction of cream cheese, smoked salmon, tomato, and onion on a bagel from St.-Viateur, a Montreal institution." - Karin Eldor
