"Svart is the Arctic Circle's first energy net-positive hotel, designed by architects Snøhetta. The hotel, inspired by local fishermen's homes and fish-drying structures, is supported over the fjord on weather-resistant wooden poles that double as a summer boardwalk. It features a circular design with 360-degree views of the surrounding fjord and mountains. The Svart hotel aims to generate more renewable energy than required to build, operate, and demolish it over a 60-year period. The design incorporates rooftop solar panels, geothermal wells, and optimized building geometry to reduce energy consumption by 85 percent compared to contemporary hotels."
