"Twice yearly, this five year-old craft cocktail joint in the Mission reboots its drinks list and menu according to a new theme, and for the first six months of 2018, it’s taking to the skies. A dozen signature cocktails are named after airport codes, as a nod to a certain ingredient or piece of inspiration: there’s tequila, mezcal, and pico de gallo bitters in the Guadalajara (GDL) while a trip to Stockholm (ARN) centers on Absolut Elyx. The menu card also lists shots and aperitif-style low-proof drinks, plus a quartet of highballs. These are served airplane-style, with 50 ml miniatures and an entire can of soda—Glasshouse Shiso Brandy has even been custom-produced in tiny bottles for the bar so it could be included here. Glassware and bar fixings are also refreshed with each menu, better to reflect the theme: that GDL cocktail, for example, is served in a goblet-like martini glass with a cactus stem, a cliché staple of any airport Mexican restaurant."
