"You have to pass through the Fort Canning Park to get to the hotel—quite an impressive journey. The hotel is in a black-and-white colonial building, a heritage setting updated with mid-century modern furnishings from the likes of Poltrona Frau. A Studio Suite came with a big balcony and an even bigger open bathtub right next to the bed. (Talk about suggestive!) You don't just get a comfortable stay for your money here—you're also supporting a hotel that's big on sustainability and eco practices." - Audrey Phoon
