"Total solitude. That’s what you will find in the 4,130 untamed acreage at this rustic park on Lake Heron, perched at the southernmost tip of Thunder Bay. Negwegon State Park is so isolated, in fact, it’s been designated one of six Dark Sky Preserves in the state, making it a terrific pick for serious stargazers. (Note: Negwegon has no park services, but backcountry camping by reservation is permitted at one of four hike- or paddle-in campsites and a 4WD vehicle is needed to navigate the two-track roads.)
