La Quinta Luna

"How did it strike you on arrival?A stunning, colonial building with Moorish arches, La Quinta Luna exudes a sense of history and tradition. Thick walls painted an elegant red surround an inner courtyard. The whole place feels old and elegant. Nice. What’s the crowd like?La Quinta Luna is popular with guests from all over the world. Due to its size (there are just seven rooms), lots of couples seeking an intimate setting come here. The good stuff: Tell us about your room. All of the rooms have high wood-beamed ceilings and look out onto the central courtyard. They're bright and airy with cream-colored walls and subtle but beautiful artworks. Despite the rooms all being quite large, they have an extremely cozy feel. We’re craving some deep, restorative sleep. They got us?The queen-size beds are firm and comfortable. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that find its way into your suitcase? All rooms come with bathrobes, slippers, and a television, so you can get cozy after a day of sightseeing. Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down. The marble mosaic-tiled bathrooms are a good size; some of the junior suites have bathtubs as well as showers. Maybe the most important topic of all: Wi-Fi. What’s the word? The Wifi is free and available in public areas. Due to the thickness of the walls, it can be patchy in the rooms. Room service: Worth it?There's no room service, but breakfast is included in the rate and has excellent coffee. The restaurant is open until 9:30 pm and serves some great local dishes. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you.The spa offers heavenly massages and is worth making time for a visit. What was most memorable—or heartbreaking—about your stay? It's incredibly beautiful and feels like a sanctuary at the end of a long day. Bottom line: worth it, and why?For a small but grand hotel, it is really good value." - Susannah Rigg
