"Post up at the bar inside the Hotel Particulier, a former mansion in hilly Montmartre dating back to the 19th century, and you’ll immediately feel as if you’ve entered a sacred space. Whether sitting outside or under the glass atrium surrounded by lush vegetation, or inside in the paisley carpeted dark rooms decorated with red velvet chairs and woodsy-patterned wallpaper, having a cocktail here is straight out of an adults-only fairytale. The drinks are made with house-made syrups like salty plum wine, infusions such as tonka bean rum, and fresh grown ingredients from the garden including herbs and honey made by the dashing young proprietor, Oscar Comtet, himself. Many of them are named after literary or films classic films; on one visit, the menu featured the Laura Palmer, made with the aperitif Americano Cocchi, lime juice, sugar syrup, and fresh sage." - Sara Lieberman
