"A wee neighborhood bistro located on Albert Place, at the top of Edinburgh’s Leith Walk, The Little Chartroom is run by husband-and-wife team Shaun McCarron and Roberta Hall-McCarron (formerly the head chef at Castle Terrace). Small and welcoming, with navy fabrics and handsome art, the restaurant has been garnering rave reviews and buzz since it opened n 2018. The food, French-British cuisine, is highly seasonal. The Little Chartroom takes simple dishes and adds Scottish twists here and there; for instance, a sausage roll enlivened by haggis and mustard dip. Lunch and dinner are fishy, meaty affairs, with menu items that range from mackerel ceviche to game broth to plenty of vegetables, too. Pudding could be a hearty malt loaf or an apple and ginger cake. The epic brunch promises everything you could hope for, including smoked fish kedgeree with poached eggs and almonds." - Caroline Eden
