"When Fawn Weaver learned the story of Uncle Nearest, an enslaved man who taught Jack Daniels how to make whiskey, she couldn’t turn away. Her curiosity fueled her desire to recreate the whiskey that man, Nearest Green, made all those years ago and never received credit for. Uncle Nearest comes in two varieties: the 1884 small batch whiskey that is 93 proof and the 1856 premium whiskey that is 100 proof. In June, Nearest Green Distillery officially opened their doors to the public. The distillery sits on 270 acres of land, and includes a speakeasy, tasting room, and barbecue restaurant. You can also order Uncle Nearest on Drizly."
