"There’s a definite wow factor at play here. TarraWarra’s cellar door is built into the side of a hill, and visitors enter through a heavy wooden door that is part of a curved rock wall. Architect Kerstin Thompson was tasked with creating a subterranean European-style cellar, and she’s certainly achieved that. Polished concrete floors, textured concrete walls and ceiling, a solid bar and furniture created from recycled timber, and circular skylights letting in sunshine all combine to achieve a contemporary space. The cellar door sits on a thousand acres of prime Yarra Valley farmland and vineyards. There are 28 blocks planted with cool-climate grapes, including chardonnay and pinot noir—this region’s stars—as well as shiraz, merlot, and more. Take part in a tasting, then choose your favorite." - Carrie Hutchinson
