Yvonne's Restaurant and Supper Club — Bar Review | Condé Nast Traveler

"Give us the 411 on this place; what can we expect? Get past the speakeasy entrance—hidden in a faux hair salon—and you'll find yourself in one of Boston's coolest boîtes. The moodily lit space is outfitted with jacquard wallpaper, antique couches, and chandeliers. Sounds wacky—but I like it. Who else are we likely to see? The huge space has plenty of banquettes, booths, and nooks, making it the perfect place to hide out in, whether for an after-work bite or a late-night cocktail. Creative types, young professionals, groups of girlfriends, even a Red Soxer or two can all be spotted here. The people-watching is nonpareil. Excellent. What's the scoop on the drinks? Beverage director Nicole Lebedevitch puts together a fun-spirited mixology menu that includes drinks like the Corn & Oil, made with rum, cloves, and torched lime. That sounds tasty. What's the food situation? The small-plate menu ranges from Korean street food to Argentine asado; dishes create interesting pairings with the wide-ranging drinks list. Yum. How about the service? Did it deliver, or disappoint? Yvonne's has drawn a consistent crowd since it opened in 2016, meaning that it's usually busy. It can be a bit of a challenge to nab the bartenders' attention, but once you lock eyes they'll whip up your order in no time. What's the best occasion to come here? Things can get a little rowdy, so come with a big group of friends and see where the night takes you." - Todd Plummer
