This spa is lucky enough to be part of the regal Hotel del Coronado, a sprawling resort six miles from downtown Coronado known for its Victorian architecture and iconic red turrets. It's all very Old World grandeur, with chandeliers and expensive products kitting out the reception area. Given how popular this hotel is, expect a bit of a crowd, even at the spa. Take us into the room. How was the session itself? Like any spa, therapists can vary. Despite the constant stream of patrons, they're both efficient and attentive. Nice. What about after the treatment? As over the top as the rest of the hotel may be—on-site ice cream parlor and luxe cabana service, for example—the spa manages to feel small and traditional. Men and women have separate relaxation areas, jacuzzis, and steam rooms, though the private spa pool is co-ed. Best of all, it's mainly outdoors, with lounge chairs and fire pits that overlook the ocean. Talk about relaxation. What do they do best here, then?
