"What makes this hotel stand out, among all the hotels in Paris?Prepare to live your best Left Bank life: Hôtel des Grands Hommes location on Place du Panthéon is sublime, just steps from one of the city's most iconic monuments, where a number of political leaders and literary heroes are buried. The lobby pays homage to this with a series of busts behind the check-in desk. The ground floor lounge area has plenty of comfy chairs, an honor bar, and an abundance of coffee table books to get lost in. How long has it been here?Hotel des Grand Hommes has been family-owned since it opened in 1946. Lovely. So what are the rooms themselves like?The antiques-filled rooms are so tastefully decorated that they hardly feel like hotel rooms at all. And with only 30 of them, you're bound to receive personalized attention, from check-in until check-out. Is there a charge for Wi-Fi?There's no charge. You mentioned something about breakfast... please tell us more.Breakfast is served in a stone-vaulted basement room, and there's a great selection of chewy croissants, other pastries, and plenty of strong coffee. There isn't a proper restaurant on-site, but the location in the Latin Quarter—which has an abundance of places to snack, feast, and drink at all hours of the day and night—more than makes up for it. How's the service?Every guest feels taken care of at this family-owned property. There's a reason this hotel draws so many repeat guests. What types of travelers will you find here?Travelers who don't need the glitz and glam of Paris' larger hotels and who appreciate the value of the perfect Latin Quarter location. How does the hotel mesh (or not) with the surrounding area? What is there to do nearby?The hotel is a seamless part of the neighborhood, and is just steps from numerous attractions, including the Pantheon, the Luxembourg Gardens, and all the drinking and dining options on this part of the Left Bank.
