"For her second cafe, I learned founder Jen Byard looked to her own South Park neighborhood and transformed a vintage 1959 Shasta travel trailer—restored and customized into a fully functioning coffee bar powered by a La Marzocco espresso machine—into an Instagram-ready outdoor cafe parked on a 2,000-square-foot lot on Fern Street that had been vacant for 15 years. Open Monday through Sunday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., the cafe works with famed roaster Sightglass Coffee for its espresso and coffee drinks, including a well-photographed flower latte flight, and will soon offer a special house blend made just for the cafe. The menu features a rotating selection from Nomad Donuts alongside pastries, breakfast dishes, and light bites, with salads and sandwiches coming later; the South Park location also includes a retail area with branded merchandise, coffee supplies, and housewares, plus grab-and-go bouquets and stems from local florist Native Poppy, a kid’s play corner, and a stage for events, live music, and movie nights. A partnership with neighboring wine bar The Rose will allow the cafe to serve beer and wine on Friday and Saturday nights later this spring, and a grand opening is scheduled for Saturday, March 17, with complimentary coffee, bites, raffle prizes, The Rose, and Nomad Donuts' large-scale doughnut wall." - Candice Woo
