Iconic PCH Diner Patrick’s Roadhouse Has Closed in Santa Monica | Eater LA

"I was saddened to learn that the iconic green roadside diner, adorned with kitsch and constantly celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, has closed; owner Anthony Fischler is trying to renegotiate a long-term lease but says he needs $250,000 to cover back rent and building maintenance and hopes to raise the funds on GoFundMe. Opened in 1973 along Pacific Coast Highway by Bill Fischler, the quirky daytime spot operated profitably for nearly its entire history but struggled during the COVID-19 pandemic when dining rooms were forced to close; during that time it supported the community by providing meals to frontline workers and students. The GoFundMe page states no proceeds will be used unless a new lease is secured and the goal is fully funded, and until then Patrick’s Roadhouse will remain closed indefinitely. Over the decades it has served locals and famous folks like Lucille Ball, Johnny Carson, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Golden Hawn." - Matthew Kang
