"At Eataly Silicon Valley, Terra defines itself as the crown jewel of Eataly’s restaurants, now distinguished by a rooftop restaurant and lounge offering seasonal-focused dishes and rooftop views. The centerpiece is a wood-fired grill that creates a show as you walk in and anchors a menu of live-flame cooking, including a costoletta di maiale (grilled pork chop from Klingerman Farms) and a two-person 36 oz. tomahawk steak from Creekstone Farms. Starters include shareable plates such as crudo, gamberoni alla griglia (grilled king prawns dressed in fennel pollen, chili, lemon, and olive oil), and heirloom melon wrapped in 30-month aged prosciutto; house-made pastas range from tagliatelle with coal-fired beef and pork ragu to cavatelli with squid, smoked Manila clams, bottarga, and cherry tomatoes. Skewer options include abruzzese lamb skewers and the fornello pugliese selection of slow-charcoal skewers with two styles of bombette (pork wrapped around cheese). A new lounge area offers smaller shareable bites, an extensive drink program with 30 wines by the glass and more than 200 bottles, cocktail classics, a trio of spritzes, smoked drinks, and a build-your-own gin and tonic option, and Terra will also feature a roving gelato cart with freshly made gelato and tableside toppings. Terra debuts Thursday, June 16 at 5 p.m.; initial hours are 5–9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5–9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with reservations available beginning June 2." - Dianne de Guzman
