"Built by Mexican immigrants Tomás and Maria Silva, this Mexican market, bakery, catering operation, and restaurant has been selling elotes and other family-recipe dishes since 1979, back when it was next to impossible to find fresh tortillas in St. Paul; the smell of charred husks and sweet corn is indelibly linked with this market. Their daughter Milissa Diaz, part of the next generation of owners, came to Keg and Case with Mexican hot chocolate, tamales, and cookies to support protestors and said she hopes the community keeps the conversation going about cultural culinary appropriation." - Joy Summers
