"Opening in mid-July inside Union Market at 1309 5th Street NE, this 800-square-foot outpost from Naples-born, award-winning pizzaiolo Giulio Adriani will serve the same Detroit- and New York-style pies and slices that helped it jump to no. 2 on 50 Top Pizza’s America list. The menu mirrors the original with starters like garlic knots, sandwiches such as meatball and prosciutto, and Italian desserts including cannoli and tiramisu. Customers can watch an open kitchen’s dough-flipping process, but the shop itself won’t offer seating, so slices are intended to be eaten in the market’s common area; the space sits to the left of a dividing wall that separates it from a companion cocktail bar.
