"In the former La Rana Rossa space at 154 Green St., I found Evergreen Eatery, a new sibling to JP Seafood Cafe run by Phil Paik, Kristen Hunter, and Karen Paik that focuses on classic American diner dishes with Latin, Caribbean, and Asian influences while aiming for the same energy and friendly environment as JP Seafood Cafe. Early visitors have shared photos of banana pancakes and avocado toast, and I noticed a leafy mural and a pleasant café setup; Phil Paik has said the restaurant offers a variety of vegan-friendly and gluten-free options. Menu-testing images suggested items like BLT spring rolls and chicken-and-waffle sandwiches, and the spot also features an express coffee and juice bar for on-the-go drinks, sandwiches, and pastries. The restaurant seats about 50 inside with almost as many on a seasonal patio, and currently serves breakfast and lunch on the diner side from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. (closed Mondays) while the café side is open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal
