"After eating some incredible tonkatsu at Saboten Express in Manila’s Mitsukoshi department store, I was craving something similar and found Kagura in Torrance to be my go-to for the city’s best tonkatsu: the cheese-filled mille-feuille katsu lived up to the hype after a phone miscommunication resulted in a roll of tender pork filled with rich, melty cheese. The tender, layered meat worked well with a still-crisp panko crust and a tangy, umami-rich dipping sauce; I only wished for a jumbo-sized portion, though the serving was more than enough." - Eater Staff
