"The Shepherd is a century-old Romanesque-style church transformed into a cultural arts center with multi-faceted programming on Detroit’s East Side. The adaptive reuse of the church, led by architects Peterson Rich Office (PRO), centers around its two gallery spaces, a library and a public workshop for the local arts community. The Shepherd’s diverse programming seeks to blur the boundaries between gallery, institution, and community arts center, and welcomes opportunities to collaborate with other arts initiatives and organizations.
