"Milkshake Concepts is flipping the space into Paparazzi Chophouse, and the restaurant's website lists an anticipated opening of June 2024; the design is teased as focused on “an era of splendor and sophistication inspired by the glamour of 1930s Hollywood,” though I note that the 1930s were also the Great Depression and that Hollywood’s studio system of the time involved abuses, so the glam feels a little tarnished in retrospect. It's unclear why the restaurant is called Paparazzi Chophouse—paparazzo didn’t become a thing until the 1960s—but Milkshake’s representative says “the crux of the concept was always centered around the glitz of an occasion” where everyone feels special and compelled to look their best and that it isn’t necessarily centered around any specific era. The menu is described as featuring Southern dishes including crawfish remoulade deviled eggs topped with crawfish tail and caviar, Cajun crusted salmon with parmesan risotto and corn succotash, and lobster mac and cheese, alongside not-particularly-Southern items like lamb and Wagyu beef meatballs, chilled jumbo shrimp in a citrus and herb broth, and braised beef short rib." - Courtney E.
