"Regarded as an Atlanta barbecue institution in Grant Park, this restaurant operated for 32 years after Ron Newman opened it in 1993. It quickly became known for its barbecue pork wraps, brisket, and cornbread, drawing a loyal following over decades. A former patron, Christianah Coker-Jackson, took over the business eight years ago but was unable to purchase the building, which contributed to its closure. She hopes to find a new location for the iconic joint and has launched a GoFundMe campaign to fund the move. The original spot closed its doors with a New Year’s Eve farewell party, marking the end of a long-running community staple at that address." - Henna Bakshi
