"At 144 Fulton St. between Nassau Street and Broadway in the Financial District, I can enjoy Chick-fil-A's controversial fried chicken—especially their beloved fried chicken sandwiches—on a sun-drenched rooftop terrace at their new five-floor, 12,000-square-foot location that seats 140, features two kitchens and a semi-private dining area, and claims the largest rooftop terrace the chain has built, with views of the World Trade tower. When first announced, press materials said the design subtly evoked the Twin Towers as an homage to 9/11, language that has since been removed and the company now says there was no specific inspiration. The chain's reputation is complicated: it has a history of donating millions to anti-LGBTQ groups and supporters of conversion therapy, yet New York locations have also donated more than 17,000 pounds of food to New York Common Pantry. The Fulton Street restaurant is open Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and, following company practice, remains closed on Sundays." - Stefanie Tuder
